ZZ Top Concert Schedule

ZZ Top is a legendary American rock band known for their blues-infused rock music, bawdy lyrics and long, red beards. ZZ Top tours include the 2017 Tonnage Tour, 2016 Hell Raisers Tour, and the 2013 La Futura Tour. ZZ Top live shows leave the audience laughing dancing and feeling like they are at a jam session with close friends, instead of a concert headlined by rock and roll legends. Their massive success has allowed all of their albums to reach gold or platinum status. The band's best selling album is 1983's Eliminator, which spawned the hit singles "Legs" and "Sharped Dress Man." The album went on to sell 10 million units, reaching diamond status and the 25 million records they've sold in the U.S. makes them one of the top 100 selling artists in the country. ZZ Top has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide, and they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in 2004.

ZZ Top Background

ZZ Top formed in 1969 in Houston Texas with guitarist and lead vocalist Billy Gibbon, organist Lanier Greig and drummer Dan Mitchell. The name of the band came from Gibbons combining the names of B.B. King and Z.Z. Hill, when he noticed that many artists used their initials as their band's name. When ZZ King seemed too close to the originals he changed it to ZZ Top. The current lineup of the band consists of bassist and lead vocalist Dusty Hill, Billy Gibbon and drummer Frank Beard. ZZ Top's signature sound can best be described as blues-infused rock with elements of punk rock and new wave added through their use synthesizers. While Eliminator was the band's most successful album with 10 million albums sold, 1985's Afterburner was their highest charting album. All the singles from Afterburner were Top 40 hits and the album itself went on to sell five million copies. Other Top 40 singles include 1975's "Tush," 1977's "I Thank You," and 1981's "Gimme All Your Lovin'"Follow ZZ Top on social media: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Facebook.

  • Too loud.

by doofuss on 12/2/09Pengrowth Saddledome - CalgaryRating: 3 out of 5

It was great seeing them live but maybe I'm getting too old. Does it have to be so loud that you can't distinguish the vocals. Just a loud distorted mess.

  • That little ole band from Texas

by Dales on 12/2/09Pengrowth Saddledome - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

...."same 3 guys, same 3 chords...." Fandango!! I've waited a long time to see these guys, and they did not disappoint. They were truly having fun up there; it was indeed a cool show. The lights, the guitars (esp the white puffy ones), the beards (two on the guys, one on the drums) - it was all amazing. Only thing missing was a t-shirt with the CANADIAN tour stops listed. thanks, ZZ Top!

  • ZZ Top Saskatoon

by Countycowboy on 11/30/09Credit Union Centre - SaskatoonRating: 4 out of 5

Musically it was good. They played pretty well and put on a decent show. However, they didnt play very long. They played for about an hour then came out for a 20-30 min encore. I didnt even get to hear beer drinkers and hell raisers. The crowd was a bit weak after the riders lost the grey cup minutes before they started, so that probably had something to do with it. I had fun watching them I just wish they'd have played for longer.

  • ZZ TOP STILL ROCKING

by ZZTOPFAN7 on 11/29/09Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

ZZTop did it last night in Edmonton the old guys showed that they are still firmly in charge when it comes to entertaining a sold out crowd. The tunes were great some old and newer material were played all of the fans were really into this great show. This band still got it and showed it last night!

  • ZZ Top Rocked the ISC

Wow, is all I can say! I don't care if I see another concert in my lifetime; this one was sublime. Love ZZ Top but they really deliver. Sound was good (which is unusual for ISC),

  • ZZ Top at the Potowatomi Casino

by bigdaddypaul on 11/12/09Potawatomi Casino/Northern Lights Theater - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

This was my 4th time I have seen ZZ Top, and the best yet! I think what made it so good was that it was in a small venue, I belive theres only 350 seats there, we were about 30 feet from the stage, they seemed to be having so much fun at a small place. Billy was joking around a lot, they played most of their old hits and some awesome Blues along with Foxy Lady. These guys really put on a good show and played for almost 2 hours. I would highly recommend seeing them at a small cozy venue like the casino. I give it a solid 5 stars.

  • ZZ Top was outstanding

ZZ TOP was outstanding as they always are. The theater was small so very personal and it sounded great !!! Thanks for a great show

  • The Boyzz rocked the joint!

    by Groovin8r on 11/11/09Potawatomi Casino/Northern Lights Theater - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

Saw the Boyzz on 11/10/2009 in Milwaukee, WI at the "casino." Billy had a different story, rather than talking about shopping at the Dollar Store, he told us he was talking on the phone with his woman and told her they made it to the big time by playing casinoes. Anyways...it was a small venue with seating for 500 and I'm guessing there were only around 400 in attendance judging by the empty seats. The sound was excellent (probably the loudest I've heard them) and they were on! All 3 were having a good time. I was spitting distance from the stage on Dusty's side. No opener but that is fine for me. Same set list as reported on other shows in this tour.

  • That "Lil Ol' Band From Texas" still's got it.

by WingRider on 11/11/09Potawatomi Casino/Northern Lights Theater - MilwaukeeRating: 4 out of 5

It's always hard to believe how much sound three guys can put out there. You'd think that after being a band for about 40 years, they'd look like they were mailing in their performance. Not "The Top". These men still seem to enjoy what they do for a living. The music they create is as tight as ever, but still sounds as if they change it up just enough to keep from sounding like they're playing the record. Billy Gibbons is an incredible master of the guitar, throwing in one-handed lead solos occasionally. Combined with Dusty Hill's solid bass lines and the two men's fancy steppin', the show is very entertaining. Of course, the third member of the team, Frank Beard and his strong drumming, completes the powerful triad. The only negative feature of the show was the lighting. Whoever thought it would be a good idea to put powerful spots behind the group and periodically blast them into the audience's eyes really wasn't thinking it through. At times, they were so bright and sudden that my eyes hurt. Made me wish I'd have brought some Cheap Sunglasses!

  • ZZ Top still has it!!

Great show, great venue - lived up to my expectations and then some.

Greats seats and a fantastic band. How can three guys make so much music?

  • zz top let down

by BeckaH19 on 10/24/09The Seneca Allegany Events Center at Seneca Allegany Casino - SalamancaRating: 1 out of 5

ZZ Top was a real let down. They didn't even play for an hour and a half. For seventy bucks we should have at least gotten two hours.

  • ZZ Top in Reading, PA

by HepCatPoppa on 10/9/09Sovereign Performing Arts Center - ReadingRating: 5 out of 5

Great show! I waited a long time to see them, and it was worth it! The venue was great, not a bad seat. Only wish the show was longer!

  • ZZ Top were great

by Dearest on 9/30/09Sovereign Performing Arts Center - ReadingRating: 5 out of 5

Only wish they would have played longer than what they did.

  • ZZ Top of the heap

    by Yankeefan15 on 9/30/09Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

ZZ Top rolled into the Beacon and took no prisoners. They put on a straight forward mix of their hits and the blues. The crowd was unlike anything I have seen at a rock show..an eclectic mix of bikers, yuppies, beer drinkers, hell raisers, parents and their kids! A 50 something mom and pop took their son to his first show and were sitting next to me. Billy Gibbons lead the proceedings and his growling baritone charmed everybody. Dusty Hill was superb and Frank Beard and his skull drum kit stormed through the show.

  • Great show, terrible sound

by Beedubyayardee on 9/30/09Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

ZZ Top is terrific. First time I saw them live. Extremely entertaining, funny, and playing their a$$es off. However, the sound in the Beacon Theater's balcony was unbelievably bad. The PA stacks are aimed at the orchestra. Those of us in the cheap seats couldn't hear any of the spoken portions of the show, and every riff was overwhelmed by mid-range. The house should be ashamed of itself. This is a dramatic contrast to the Wellmont Theater in Montclair, which is admittedly smaller but has speakers that point to all parts of the house. It sucks seeing a great band but not being able to hear them. As for ZZ, I'll definitely see them again. Just not at the Beacon.
