  • Magnitudes Better Than Expected!

by Ballet Rocks on 4/2/24Peabody Auditorium - Daytona BeachRating: 4 out of 5

I'm a huge ballet fan and have been lucky to see both touring and resident companies representing the most revered ballets in the world. I have to admit I had low expectations but was very impressed with this group. The dancers were mostly very high quality and quite talented and the choreography stayed true to the work of Petipa who is one of my favorites. Overall it was well worth the time and drive it took to get there. The only negative was the audience. I realize the point of this ballet company is to present ballet in smaller markets to expose residents to high-quality ballet, but wow, people showed up in flip-flips and gym shorts, talked full voice during the performance, and streamed in later for a full 45 minutes after the start. Low class audience, high class ballet.

  • Word Series Ballet. Excellent performance.

by Smiley on 4/2/24Peabody Auditorium - Daytona BeachRating: 5 out of 5

I enjoyed the ballet very much. I had a few problems accessing the tickets on the phone but the woman in the box office helped me retrieve them so they would scan. I had the ticks ready to go on my phone in the app, but when I got to the theater, had to sign in to their wi fi and it still didn't work. Much easier for me to get e tickets and print them before I go.

  • Swan Lake

by Cindy Lou on 4/2/24Peabody Auditorium - Daytona BeachRating: 5 out of 5

Enchanting performance! Professional in every aspect. The dancing was superb. Lovely costumes and set design. Music sounded as if the full orchestra was live. Definitely a memorable experience. Peabody needs to host more ballets.

  • Saddest Version of Swan Lake

by Sad Cry on 4/2/24Peabody Auditorium - Daytona BeachRating: 3 out of 5

I did not enjoy this ballet. Sorry. The prince danced amazing, but his mouth was always open and me think he was suffering from a cold. Also, maybe have him grow a beard so he does not look like he is 12. The "story or lack thereof"felt so RUSHED. My daughter was confused and said she imagined the performance would have a story line. Practice makes perfect. Better luck next time folks.

  • Great Performance

by Bob on 4/2/24Peabody Auditorium - Daytona BeachRating: 5 out of 5

This ballet group did an outstanding job performing Swan Lake. The dancers, sets, and music were great. It was the best performance I have seen in any venue. Although Swan Lake is known for its difficult dance moves, the dancers made it look easy. I highly recommend seeing the World Ballet Series dancers for any ballet, but especially their performance of Swan Lake.

  • Fabulous Performance!!

by Lauren on 4/2/24Peabody Auditorium - Daytona BeachRating: 5 out of 5

This was a beautiful production of Swan Lake. I have nothing it positive feedback for the performance. I will say that extra time needs to be allotted for parking at the Peabody Auditorium in Daytona. 30 minutes extra was not enough and we almost missed the opening of the production.

  • Perfect, except.

by AshB on 3/29/24Montgomery Performing Arts Centre - MontgomeryRating: 2 out of 5

Everything about the actual performance was spectacular. Flawless. I loved it. My husband loved it. My issue. I was in row A orchestra. There were 4 giant speakers on the stage and I sat right behind one of them and couldn’t see the dancers a lot of the time. They didn’t use the stage speakers but it blocked people in four places from seeing the stage pretty severely. I had to lean way over for 2 hours but I missed a whole lot of the dancing because of the speakers.

  • Excellent production

    by Aslan's Friend on 3/27/24Alabama Theatre - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

This was our second ballet performance at the AL Theatre. I brought my granddaughter, who is a budding ballerina, and her friend. I had them read the Ella Bella Ballerina story of Swan Lake ahead of time so they knew the basic plot. Both girls were glued during the performance, even though it was rather long for their age group. The costumes and backdrops were beautiful. The costumes were also beautiful--so much color on stage in contrast to the black and white of the prince and princess My granddaughter was able. to tell me the dance steps she saw and knew. The only downside to ballet at the AL Theatre is that the stage is small. You don't see the long series of leaps by the men or women. Nonetheless, it is an enjoyable dance performance. Please keep doing these.

Such a beautiful theater for a timeless tale. The art deco of the period at the Alabama Theater was amazing. The talented and dedicated dancers took my breath away. It has been a dream to see such a professional dance take place in real life. Thank you Alabama Theater for this event. Thank you World Ballet Tour for your performance. Well done.

My fiancé and I saw the World Ballet Series: Swan Lake for a date night. We had a blast! I hadn't seen a ballet since I was in kindergarten, and he had never seen a ballet before. It was really fun and I loved the sets and costumes, as well as the beautiful ballet. This will be a date night to remember.

The music and dance was wonderful and sometimes even mesmerizing as you could feel the emotions of the characters as they performed. Would recommend to everyone!

  • Performance Excellent, Venue okay

by Kristin on 3/20/24State Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

The performance was absolutely beautiful, the costumes stunning. The principal dancers did not disappoint. The theater was beautiful, but clearly they were not ready for a crowd this large. I was appalled that they allowed seating during the performance. If you can't get there before curtain, you WAIT UNTIL INTERMISSION to be seated. It was so disruptive and this was done twice in my section.
