Since premiering at Broadway’s Gershwin Theatre in 2003, WICKED has been mesmerizing audiences and breaking records, becoming the second highest-grossing musical in Broadway history with over $1.4 billion in tickets sold. Composer-lyricist Stephen Schwartz and book writer Winnie Holzman’s magical “untold true story of the Witches of Oz” has been nominated for 10 Tony Awards — winning three — including Idina Menzel for Best Actress in a Musical as heroine Elphaba. With a captivating score that includes the hits “Defying Gravity” and “For Good,” the WICKED cast album won Best Musical Show Album at the 47th Grammy Awards, with Time magazine cheering, “If every musical had a brain, a heart, and the courage of WICKED, Broadway really would be a magical place.” In addition to Menzel, the star-studded original cast included Kristin Chenoweth as Glinda, Norbert Leo Butz as Fiyero, Joel Grey as the Wizard, Carole Shelley as Madame Morrible, Christopher Fitzgerald as Boq, Michelle Federer as Nessarose, and William Youmans as Doctor Dillamond. WICKED is also the fourth longest-running show in Broadway history.

The Gershwin Theatre is located on 222 West 51st Street between Broadway and 8th Avenue. There is no designated on-site parking. However, there are numerous parking options in the Broadway Theater District. Here's a link to a Google map display of the various options in the Times Square area.
Taxis can stop outside the theatre for drop off and pick up.
The Gershwin Theatre is close to the 50th Street subway stop. You can take the C, E and 1 lines to reach the stop.

The recommended age for children to see WICKED is eight and up, but the Gershwin Theatre welcomes patrons ages five and up. Children under the age of five will not be permitted into the theater. All patrons — regardless of age — must have a ticket.

Wow what an awesome show. The music and singing is so powerful. My first time seeing it and I can't wait to see it again. I laughed and cried throughout the show. Absolutely amazing!!!
Fantastic show that really told a fun, easy to follow story. Theater was nice a roomy and you never felt cramped as you do in some other theaters. Def recommend if you have not seen it already.

My 7 year old daughter claims that she’s only interested in going to broadway shows.
Second time seeing this show and it did not disappoint. It was incredible. The story is great. The singing is phenomenal. If you haven't seen it yet, get there!
Had a great evening, the cast was very into their parts and they all had great voices. Really enjoyed ourselves.
Everything from the stage set up to the colorful costumes to the unbelievable voices of the lead actresses was the best entertainment that I've seen in a while. Bravo!!!
What a story! Nice to have a happy ending finally. The costumes were beautiful! Our seats were great! The ladies who checked our tickets at the front door were a bit cranky. They could b a bit nicer I think but they were older women, probably have been there for years and don’t appreciate the enthusiasm from us country bumpkins from mass.
Shocked to see the audience applaud the underlying occult message of this play. "Bad is good, Good is Bad"
I have wantedTo see wicked for a long time so I went on September 28, 2019. I was lucky enough to also see one of my favorite actors Kyle Dean Massey in the production . And he gave a stellar performance. I highly recommend the show it is fantastic from the costumes to the music to the dancing it’s just amazing.
It's a great prequel story to the Wizard of Oz! The cast's performance was outstanding! You can tell by the quality of the actors that the producers and directors took their time in selecting the right actors for the parts. The two witches have the most incredible singing voices! It is a must see if you're in NYC!
Not my first show and will not be my last. Timely story that shows everything is not always what it seems and leaves you feeling hopeful and inspired. Excellent production
We enjoyed Wicked. My 17 year old daughter and I had a great time. We had good seats even though they were “partial view”. When the show was over my daughter said, “I feel so satisfied.” Lol!! So glad this was her first show and it was wonderful experience.
The theatre was beautiful. Good atmosfere. Very good performance of Wicked. Before the pause it was a little bit cold in the theatre. After that a little bit better.
We enjoyed everything. The cast, music, the costumes, and the stage. I would recommend this to everyone.

We enjoyed every minute, though the people behind us would not stop talking we had to shush them... i loved the singing, gave me chills a few times!
The air conditioner in the theater was really cold so we didn't come back from the break to see the other half of the show. The show was good but we couldn't stay in the cold.

I have waited years for a trip to. NY to see Wicked on Broadway. I'm so glad I did! It was a magical experience! My daughter and I had tickets in the 6th row as far stage left as possible. It was a little hard tonsee a few things. During intermission, we moved 4 seats to the right and had a much better view. We are still reliving scenes and singing the songs. What a fantasticc ensamble! We loved it!!
