Rating: 4 out of 5A great show with poor facilities management
by Elizabeth on 12/26/22Walnut Street Theatre - PhiladelphiaWe loved this musical. Everything was perfection in this show…..the actors, the musicians, the sets and lighting, the costumes and the visibility from our seats.
There were however some jarring details.
I was told that I had to make a $150 donation to the theater in addition to the ticket prices which were significant. (This came to $600 for 3 seats in the mezzanine)
Also there was no help in finding our seats from the volunteer ushers. They were there to only hand out programs.
Finally the intermission break had no snack bar open on the second floor. So an 82 year old grandmother and her 5 year old granddaughter had to walk downstairs to purchase a snack with no elevator and a big line at the first floor snack bar. We were told repeatedly to go down yet another flight of stairs to the basement level as there was a shorter line there.
The management has some serious problems and I doubt I will attend another performance in the lovely old theater.
