Vancouver Canucks History
The Vancouver Canucks started play in 1970, entering the league along with the Buffalo Sabres. Vancouver has been to the Stanley Cup Final on three occasions, though they lost to the New York Islanders in 1982, the New York Rangers in 1994 and the Boston Bruins in 2011.
Despite humble beginnings, the Canucks continued to develop. With the arrival of three key players — Captain Trevor Linden, netminder Kirk McLean, and "the Russian Rocket" Pavel Bure, the Canucks had a winning Playoff run season — making it to the 1994 finals.
The Canucks continued to acquire superstars like Alexander Mogilny and Markus Näslund, and while the following years meant a series of losses, it allowed for the team to draft Henrik and Daniel Sedin, who would go on to lead the Canucks to Presidents' Trophies in back-to-back seasons in 2010-11 and 2011-12, as well as their finals appearance in 2011.

Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Arena
The Vancouver Canucks play their home games at the 475,000-square foot Rogers Arena, which also played host to the 2010 Winter Olympic Games where Sidney Crosby scored the “Golden Goal.” A staple of downtown Vancouver, the Canucks played their first game at the arena on October 9, 1995. Other notable events that have taken place at the arena include the 1998 NHL All-Star Game, 2019 NHL Entry Draft, and in October 2002 when Queen Elizabeth II dropped the ceremonial first puck during an NHL exhibition game between the Canucks and San Jose Sharks. Additionally, the arena played host to Games 1, 2, 5, and 7 of the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals.
The Vancouver Canucks’ 2023–24 regular season kicks off in October at home as the Canucks face off against the Edmonton Oilers. The Canucks play their final game of the regular season at Canada Life Centre against Western Conference opponents the Winnipeg Jets. Here’s a list of key games to keep an eye on:

The Vancouver Canucks game I went to on Feb 15 was so good. It was really easy to check in at the arena with my mobile tickets.
Hadn’t been to a game in person in a long time, huge change in the arena and atmosphere. I love the game and had fun watching. I will say I found the new huge jumbotron a bit distracting and really dislike the blue shiny helmuts so cheap looking🤷🏻♀️ Pretty noisy atmosphere, did appreciate the variety of food and beverage options though a bit pricey in these cash strapped times. May be another few years before I am able to attend again. I did enjoy the game being able to share the experience with my son. Always a fan, Go Canucks go.
Brought my grandson to Canucks-Chicago game . Bought the tickets in Sept as a Xmas present so he could see Conner Bedard. Unfortunately Bedard suffered an injury and did not play. Stuff happens so I get it. However I was disappointed there was no video presentation before the game of Bedard addressing his hometown fans as a lot of kids attended the game cause of him asXmas gifts . Would have been a class by the Canucks . Thank you
Everything was good in Rogers Arena.. The audience, the beer and the place. Amazing!!!
We had a blast at the game! It was a great game and the Canucks came away with the win as well. Great experience overall!
Great show and great match !!! Canucks and senators played so well. So happy to see Wayne Gretzky.
Watching the game was great, from the opening entertainment of pre-game to the light shows and fan interaction makes it really exciting. The game was great and the Canucks had a phenomenal game. Arena should offer combo deals for beverages and food at every food stall and beverages prices are clearly gauging, I wouldn’t buy more than 1, around $11.50 with taxes for small skinny can of Stella pretty ridiculous.
Went to the game a t shirt came my way dove for it got battered and bruised. The staff was quick and asked if I needed a medic. So helpful over the last couple of years
The game was great and the breaks were entertaining.
The Canucks versus the Hurricanes on Saturday night was an exciting game with a nail-biter finish. Glad to see the lads get the win! And a great way to catch up with my brother!
So much fun to join Canucks game !!! Party atmosphere !!!! Great game !! Go Canucks go !!!
Great game. So much talent on the ice. Pre game show was awesome. Great experience.
Always a great time at Roger's, but it does lack great non-alcoholic options. Unless you want pop or boring water, there isn't much else.
The Canucks game is one of the more affordable NHL teams to see and Rogers Arena is awesome. Despite wearing the opposing teams colors, the fans were as always good.
Love to see a game when in Vancouver. Rogers Arena is showing its age. Far too few washrooms. Long, long lines. Concourses packed like sardines!
Went to the game, from Seattle, with my family to see our 2 favorite teams play. Vancouver puts on a pretty good pregame show I will say but of course not better than The Kraken. The Kraken won so we were happy but we were in our Canucks gear. Great game!!
Fantastic singing of both National Anthems, great video intro of team (huge overhead screen), clear game announcer, energetic fans, intermission fun, good food, easy parking, and good sight lines from all seats. Great game and spirited banter with Canucks fans as we rooted for the Kraken! Rogers Arena is a must for any hockey fan.
Watching the Canucks win a game is always great.. You leave the stadium Feeling like You got your moneys worth. Surprise visit from Harry the ex prince of England and his American wife. Harry was at the game to drop the puck and begin promoting Invictus games.
Not being from Vancouver it was a treat to go to the Canucks game. The game was great the entertainment was awesome and so was the food and drinks. Awesome experience.
