A well-run event, and it was great to see so many kids there enjoying themselves. Also, it is always good to see the children of the players out on the ice. Very entertaining.

Vancouver Canucks History
The Vancouver Canucks started play in 1970, entering the league along with the Buffalo Sabres. Vancouver has been to the Stanley Cup Final on three occasions, though they lost to the New York Islanders in 1982, the New York Rangers in 1994 and the Boston Bruins in 2011.
Despite humble beginnings, the Canucks continued to develop. With the arrival of three key players—Captain Trevor Linden, netminder Kirk McLean, and "the Russian Rocket" Pavel Bure, the Canucks had a winning Playoff run season—making it to the 1994 finals.
The Canucks continued to acquire superstars like Alexander Mogilny and Markus Näslund, and while the following years meant a series of losses, it allowed for the team to draft Henrik and Daniel Sedin, who would go on to lead the Canucks to Presidents' Trophies in back-to-back seasons in 2010-11 and 2011-12, as well as their finals appearance in 2011.

Rogers Arena is a state-of-the-art hockey facility. An amazing place. Unfortunately, the Cauncks lost in a shootout. There aren't enough exits, stairs or escalators, though. You have to take elevators and wait often.
hockey rules
by kingchristopher on 12/26/11Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5With deference to American and European football fans everywhere, hockey is by far the best sport. As a Kings ticket holder, I love watching live hockey when I travel. But in 3 consecutive seasons, I have seen the home team lose in Toronto, Washington, and now Vancouver. Is it me?!? Good fun though, without the sting of a loss by the Kings! But Vancouver is a great city with a great team. Go see the greatest sport when you can, especially in Canada, eh.

by misslindav on 10/24/11Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5We found the event great and much more entertaining with Beiksa doing the commentary with some of the plays... I sure wish you would charge $10 bucks a tcket and do just the lower bowl... the money could go to the Canuck Foundation and there maybe less empty seats in the lower bowl.. This would deter the ones just saying they are going and not showing up to the event... and great donation amount raised for such a great cause... Just always amazed on the teamwork and leadership in action. keep up the great work : )

I really liked how the players engaged the fans during this practice. Bieksa was very funny and there were a lot of things to look forward to.

Open Practice was good family fun...
by CanuckFan1 on 10/11/11Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5I took my three kids to the open practice and they all had a great time. It was interesting to see the Canucks do their drills, the same plays you see them pull off in the games. Kesler looked good out there as well. The event ended with a shoot out, with Kevin Bieksa as commentator, which was the best part of the event.
Excellent practice and very educational
by Eqix on 10/10/11Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5My son plays in the youth hockey league, he learned a lot and got to see the players very close! Hopefully the Canucks will do this type of events during the season.
Great fun for the kids
by PepsiPrincess on 10/10/11Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5Had a good time watching the Canuck's practice. It was a lot of fun for the kids. They had face painting and lots of other fun activities. Always fun to get to see the Canucks and not have to pay the high prices of going to a game (especially with the kids).
Canucks are Awesome

2011 NHL Western Conference Championship, Game 5
by SeattleCanucksFan on 6/1/11Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5If one could only attend ONE hockey game in one's entire life ... THIS was the game! My Vancouver Canucks (#1 seed) earn their *1st* trip back to the Stanley Cup Final in a generation, by this double-overtime Game 5 conference championship series win against the West's overall #2 seed, San Jose Sharks, who played well, too, and put everything they had out on the ice that night. But what San Jose had just wasn't enough, against probably the deepest and most talented team Vancouver has had, ever: the Sedin line at their most brilliant; the Kesler line dauntless and relentless; the 3rd and 4th lines keeping us fresh and energetic; the whole defense -- and especially Canada's "gold-keeper", Roberto Luongo -- ever more dominant and impenetrable through each successive overtime. WHAT A GAME!!
Western Conference Final Game 1

Rogers Arena is the best place on earth!
by canucks4ever on 4/22/11Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5Of course I am a die hard Canucks fan. Flying all the way back from SF Bay to Vancouver ( that's what I call my home city, where my heart is...). Man oh man, despite the 4-3 win for the home boys, the atmosphere at Rogers Arena is just phenomenal -- especially the pre-game production "This is what we live for" right before the team take on the ice. OMG, fantastic job the broadcasting crew! And the O-Canada national anthem, the entire Arena was rocking! Also the street booth for various marketing campaigns right outside the arena are also fabulous! Lots of free gifts and great crew. Now, it's up to the Canucks -- Let's Go Canucks! Bring the Cup back to Van City!

Many Vancouver fans are the most crude fans I've ever had the unfortunate experience to listen to - I'm embarrassed for the good people that try to attend games at Rogers' Place.
