About

Pioneers of the Red Dirt music scene and one of America's most beloved bands, Turnpike Troubadours has amassed a massive following throughout their renowned career with more than 2.2 billion streams globally and over 1.7 million equivalent units sold. Since their debut in 2005, the band has released seven studio albums, performed countless sold-out headline shows, appeared in Paramount's hit show "Yellowstone" and were inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame. Most recently, Turnpike Troubadours added to their historic career with the release of their new surprise album, The Price of Admission, which debuted at #1 on the iTunes all-genre and country charts and earned them their highest Spotify chart debuts to date. The eagerly awaited follow up to their widely acclaimed 2023 album, A Cat in the Rain, The Price of Admission further cements the band as an undeniable force in the music world and led Whiskey Riff to declare "Turnpike Troubadours have continued to prove time and time again that they are the greatest band of all time." Originally from Tahlequah, OK, Turnpike Troubadours is Evan Felker (vocals, guitar), Kyle Nix (fiddle), Ryan Engleman (electric guitar), RC Edwards (bass), Gabe Pearson (drums) and Hank Early (steel, accordion).

  • Turnpike

by CMB on 8/23/22Azura Amphitheater - Bonner SpringsRating: 5 out of 5

Turnpike was absolutely fantastic. Muscadine Bloodline and Morgan Wade opening were awesome as well. Govt Mule....not so much. The worst part of the experience had nothing to do with Turnpike, it was the awful frigging amenities at Azura. I will try to avoid ever seeing a show there again. But I would absolutely see Turnpike again!

  • Band was great

by Lawn Audience on 8/23/22Azura Amphitheater - Bonner SpringsRating: 5 out of 5

The facility took so long to get people in missed the first opener and half of the second. Which the first band was the best opener of the three. Not sure why muscadine went first they should have went last right before turnpike. Music matches more than the other two. Other than having to wait over an hour in line the overall experience was great. The people behind the bar were amazing seriously awesome and Turnpike was great. They put on the best concert I've been to all year.

  • Great Concert, No Beer!

by Lucky on 8/23/22Azura Amphitheater - Bonner SpringsRating: 4 out of 5

Concert was awesome, place was packed and fun. Problem was, whoever organized it didn't buy enough beer! If it wasn't for vendors walking around, don't know that I would have ever gotten a beer, but then they ran out!

  • Turnpike was the only good part of the show

by John on 8/23/22Azura Amphitheater - Bonner SpringsRating: 4 out of 5

The venue got oversold, they ran out of everything food, beer, whiskey), 2 of 3 openers were terrible and Azura doesn’t follow any of the policies on their website

  • Great Band, Venue has room for improvement

by Engineer on 8/23/22Azura Amphitheater - Bonner SpringsRating: 3 out of 5

Band was good. Waited an hour in concessions line, and they ran out of drinks as I got to the front. Seemed as if the speakers were half off, as the sound wasn’t very loud in the back. Could easily have a conversation with people around me as it the music was so quiet. Would have to be a really great band to bring me back to this venue.

  • Amazing show, poor planning by venue

by TTFanER on 8/23/22Azura Amphitheater - Bonner SpringsRating: 3 out of 5

All of the acts did such an amazing job and I loved every second of the music! The venue - despite being beautiful and having the potential to be great - was in over its head. The lines were terrible for bathrooms, food and drinks. No one wants to go to a show and miss entire sets just to stand in line. There was no clear signage for cash and credit card lines so you'd wait in line for 45 minutes only to be told - when you *finally* got up front - it was cash only. The ATMs were cashed out early as well, so you couldn't pay cash even if you wanted to. The one time I got through a drink line that accepted credit cards line there was so much back and forth between pouring drinks and running cards it seemed very inefficient for the staff who were working their butts off. I think Azura really has the potential to be a great venue for this area, but they need to be prepaid for that volume of show-goers. They clearly oversold this show by opening up the lawn and didn't add extra staff to compensate. Some things I think could help in the future: set-up the stands with card readers at the counter so staff doesn't have to run around each other trying to take payments and fulfill orders, clearly mark which lines accept cash and which lines accept cards, or simply advertise events as cash only to save the hassle of long lines and running cards.

It was a breath of fresh air to be able to see this band in person again. The Setlist was fantastic. The only minor detail is the sound system at that amphitheater needs to be upgraded.it was a bit “tin-ish”.

  • Amazing!!!!

by Cassie on 8/23/22Azura Amphitheater - Bonner SpringsRating: 5 out of 5

An amazing show! I would see them again if they were back in my area.

  • Venue

by Music lover on 8/23/22Azura Amphitheater - Bonner SpringsRating: 1 out of 5

I have never been to this venue, but will not return anytime soon. It needs some major improvements and better coordination. It was difficult to know where you were going, not enough areas for customers to get food and drinks. Missed an entire show waiting in line for a drink. Disappointed!

  • Alot to be desired

by Major Letdown on 8/23/22Azura Amphitheater - Bonner SpringsRating: 2 out of 5

Turnpike Troubadours put on an amazing show! The venue itself was terrible. Way overcrowded, ran out of concessions early and super long lines for the restrooms. I will not be attending another concert at this location regardless of the performer.

  • Awesome!

    by R. P. on 8/23/22Azura Amphitheater - Bonner SpringsRating: 5 out of 5

We had been waiting for years, missed them back in 2019. What a thrill and they sounded awesome. The Uber pick up was only issue we had. Can't wait to see them again.

  • Venue Wasn't Prepared for the Capacity

by Lane on 8/23/22Azura Amphitheater - Bonner SpringsRating: 1 out of 5

Parking was a nightmare and unorganized. Uber lines were insane and also unorganized. Lines for drinks were 20-30 minutes long, beer ran out before Turnpike got on stage. The speakers burst after the second act so the sound was not ideal for anyone in the back-half of the amphitheater. Was clear that the venue did not prepare for the amount of people.

  • Disappointed

by MKL on 8/23/22Azura Amphitheater - Bonner SpringsRating: 2 out of 5

Very disappointed in the overall experience at Acura on Saturday. From the EXTREMELY slow bar service to running out of beer before the concert even started. I would have thought for this popular of a show they would have prepared better. The bar service was undertrained and seemed very overwhelmed which made things run very slow. To top it off the speakers in our section were broken and clicking so half of the lawn couldn’t hear the music. I left very disappointed, not sure if I would return to this venue.

  • Great show!

by Jerry H. on 8/23/22Azura Amphitheater - Bonner SpringsRating: 5 out of 5

Outside of the venue running out of beer and some excessively long lines, the show itself was excellent. Can’t wait to see the Troubadours again and Morgan Wade has a new fan!

  • Great Concert. Awful Venue

by KCrane on 8/23/22Azura Amphitheater - Bonner SpringsRating: 2 out of 5

Turnpike did a amazing performance. They are a must see. On the other hand Azura Amphitheater was not the greatest venue to host them. Getting into the concert was a pain. Took about 30mins. Got to go through security. Alright. But when inside the bathrooms and concessions were awful. Right as we got there about 2 hours before Turnpike they were already selling out of beer. We had to wait about a hour to purchase anything. The bathroom lines were just as worse with about the same wait time. People started to go around the fence. Talking to other concert goers they explained a similar experience and how the venue could not accommodate this many people. Think there was too many GA-Lawn tickets sold.

  • Concession stands

by Anonymous on 8/23/22Azura Amphitheater - Bonner SpringsRating: 3 out of 5

I think having signs of when beer is sold out at a station would be great. My friend and I had to wait 20 minutes in a line just to figure out that they were sold out by the time we got to order. Also, would be nice if you took Discover cards and not having each stand be designated cash or card Only.

  • The bands were great.

by Mrenkos on 8/23/22Azura Amphitheater - Bonner SpringsRating: 4 out of 5

The bands were great and so glad that Evan is sober! The venue ran out of beer. There was absolutely no cell service and lack of a way for all the drunk countryfolk to get home. Glad I didnt have to use the facilities or I would of missed an entire set..

  • Awesome venue!

by StacyCakes on 8/23/22Azura Amphitheater - Bonner SpringsRating: 4 out of 5

The venue was a top notch experience. A packed out crowd on a hill so everyone can see the performers. The sounds, bands, and experience was one to never forget! The only downside was only two areas to go to the bathroom, and the line for the women's was insanely long wrapping around twice that I held my pee for 5 hours so i wouldn't miss any of the concert.

  • AMAZING

by Delia on 8/23/22Azura Amphitheater - Bonner SpringsRating: 5 out of 5

The venue? Beautiful. The show? Amazing. The band? Perfect.

  • Could have been perfect. Not a "VIP" experience.

by tocreemer on 8/23/22Azura Amphitheater - Bonner SpringsRating: 4 out of 5

What an incredible night. Music was fantastic all night long. So great to see Turnpike Troubadours again. Muscadine Bloodline, Morgan Wade, and Government Mule were all fantastic. The only downfall of this show is related to the venue. Purchased VIP Pit tickets which included a VIP bar and restrooms as well as a seated viewing area. The "viewing area" was away from the stage and "viewing" was on the multiple TVs hung around the walls. To access the VIP bar and restrooms we had to cross the venue through heavy traffic and multiple people to find a bar that was understaffed and restrooms that were too small for the number of tix sold. Lines at both were outrageous. Also, no AMEX or Discover taken at Azura. Good to know in the future. All in all, one of the best live shows I've been to in quite some time, but didn't get the VIP experience we expected.
