They say fashion is cyclical... and they’re right. Truly amazing things never go out of style, regardless of when they first popped up. Toto’s tune ‘Africa’ is one of these things. First heard in 1982, this masterpiece of popular prog has been a staple of pop culture since release. Taken from their massive second album Toto IV, it combined their other calling card Rosanna to introduce Toto to a massive audience. That record would go on to win several Grammy Awards and establish a base from which the band grew into one of the most prolific and durable acts in modern music history. Musically mind blowing and with more hits that you can poke a stick at, there’s no doubt that people will ask “where were you when Toto played Festival Hall?” for years to come.
We so much enjoyed the concert. Well done! Glad we found it on Ticketmaster.
Great show! Good mix of hits with some less known ones. Percussion section was a great addition! Can't wait to see them again.
This concert was amazing! They have been one of my favorites since the 80s, and they do not disappoint in live performance. Their music is unique, intricate, and well-performed. They put today's new bands to shame. I wouldn't miss this one if I were you. I'd see them again anytime I could!
Def recommend seeing this band! They have got better With age! Lynn Auditorium is the best kept secret on the planet! I will most certainly see other acts there in the future!
Great show, brought back lots of memories. Very talented group of musicians. "Luke" was incredible on lead guitar. Vocals were strong by all. It was fun.
Odd venue, but an absolutely stunning show by Toto. The band gave its' all and performed some classic hits (obligatory "Rosanna" and "Africa," as well "Hold the Line," "Georgy Porgy," "Pamela," and "I'll Be Over You"), some deep cuts ("Never Enough," "The Road Goes On"), and several tracks from their excellent new album XIV. This was Toto's only solo show on their current tour with Yes, so they played a few extra tracks.
Toto was amazing! They were so high energy and fun! I love their music and they did such an amazing job. They played songs from each of their albums and the finally was perfect!
I've been a Toto fan since the 750's, I will admit they sounded great. But it should have benn called the Steve Lukeither show. They split the bill with Yes, so time was limited. Instead of playing their amazing catalog of tunes, they played Little Wing to show off his great guitar skills, which we all know he has, however he cheated the fans out of tunes they came to hear.
This group was awesome. It was nice to see them back touring in the USA. The sound was very full with an incredible range of vocals. The only negative was the stage lights blinded the audience.
Great concert at a really cool and intimate venue - the House of Blues in New Orleans. It was really great to see some of the original members of the group reunited after so many years along with some new members who really meshed well with the group. Everything was well done and all in attendance seemed to really enjoy the show as much as i did.
It was absolutely amazing to see these legends of the music industry live on stage.
I have seen a lot of amazing musical groups over the years. Pat Metheny, Chick Corea, Journey, Rush, Allan Holdsworth, Maynard Ferguson and so many others, but watching and listening to TOTO on their 35th year anniversary was over the top. I remember watching them in 1984 with a very rare meet and greet with Jeff Porcaro and thought wow these guys are good. Then over the years with I have seen them a dozen times or so and they just get better and better. Simon is so tight with his groves, both David and Steve P. nailing the keyboard parts is just awesome. Steve L. just brings it on every show but my wife and I were amazed at Joseph Williams. Damn that guy can sing! Not to mention that Amy Keys added to the whole experience. However, we will never forget meeting and speaking with each one of these amazing men. Even though I am a professional it was hard to come face to face with those who truly shaped the American music scene. It was just a great experience and true honor. We can hardly wait for their next album and performances.
Toto played at the Red Rock Casino poolside. Seating was limited to about 1000 and all had a great view of the stage. Good to see them back and going strong.
toto is just one of those bands that comes around and surprises concert goers with their sound and talent. Lukather has never been better and simon philips with nathan east are two of the best drummer bassist combos on tour at any time.
Best lineup in 20 years. Still the best band in the world.
Concert was exceptional. They kicked ass. Did all there hits. sound was magnificent. Did a meet and greet with the band....Steve and David were very nice and outgoing. Hope they put out a new album and tour again next year.
It brought me back to the good old days... Really nice weather for the concert and the venue was great!
Toto is back in the saddle and touring stateside for the first time in quite a while. Given the band is LA based they had quite a few friends and family in the audience, which leads me to believe they came to impress and impress they did. They had a great mix of all the hits and die hard fan favorites. The band's sound was tight and Joe William's vocals were amazing. The sound was studio quality but the arrangements were not rehash of the studio originals, moreover, fresh, contemporary but not at a loss of their original quality.
A beautiful Friday night under the stars at Red Rock Casino to enjoy the 35th Anniversary Tour show. Everyone appeared to be in great spirits and at the top of their game, but the mix seemed a bit muddled at times. Totally enjoyed the show, although this being Las Vegas, I am guessing their set list was a bit shorter than usual, so that we could get back into the casino and spend some money. Thanks for another memorable evening guys, and gal (Amy)!
ToTo was the best concert I have seen to date!! What an excellent group of musicians and each one is awesome with their own instrument.
