About

They say fashion is cyclical... and they’re right. Truly amazing things never go out of style, regardless of when they first popped up. Toto’s tune ‘Africa’ is one of these things. First heard in 1982, this masterpiece of popular prog has been a staple of pop culture since release. Taken from their massive second album Toto IV, it combined their other calling card Rosanna to introduce Toto to a massive audience. That record would go on to win several Grammy Awards and establish a base from which the band grew into one of the most prolific and durable acts in modern music history. Musically mind blowing and with more hits that you can poke a stick at, there’s no doubt that people will ask “where were you when Toto played Festival Hall?” for years to come.

    Yes Still Great

by TotallyYes on 8/10/15The Grand Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino - Mashantucket

Even without Rick and Jon and now Chris, Yes music is still the greatest. I was very happy this tour they are playing some songs they haven't played in a while. The Onward tribute to Chris was poignant and befitting the greatness of the man.

First YES concert without Chris Squire

by Anonymous on 8/10/15The Grand Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino - Mashantucket

TOTO and YES at Foxwoods on Friday, August 7, 2015 was three hours of the most unbelievable amazing music.... but the evening was bittersweet - especially since this was YES' first show without Chris Squire.

    Toto 10 - Yes ... hummmm...

by MC70 on 8/10/15The Grand Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino - Mashantucket

I loved the Toto concert, full of energy, good songs, and a real enjoyment. I have seen many Yes concerts (my husband is a huge fan!), but this one was kind of melancholic w/ the loss of Chris Squire... the lead singer does not carry the group. Yes, please call John Anderson quickly, pray together, meditate, have a meeting and arrange something quickly before this tour ends! Just my humble and sincere opinion!

Fantastic show - too long to wait to see them!

by Theresa12345678910 on 8/10/15The Grand Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino - Mashantucket

First time to see a show in Foxwoods and think it is a great venue (nice size/good sound)!!! *Toto was so great! I have missed them touring in the US for so long. Great songs from a great band with superb musicians!! *Also Yes was great too. I have never seen them in concert and was only a casual fan but was so impressed with them. I feel lucky to have seen their show too.

    Toto smashes it home!

by manyfeather on 8/10/15The Grand Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino - Mashantucket

Foxwoods 8/7, Toto smashed the show home. Definitely still pack a rock and roll punch. High energy, tight performance. I would like to see the show again. Unfortunately YES was not as good as they have been in the past. Maybe with the loss of Mr. Squire, they just need time to re-group. Most likely won't go to see them for a while. We'll see what the future holds for them.

    Toto Rocked!

by Lbr1960 on 8/10/15The Grand Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino - Mashantucket

I saw Toto 35 years ago and they were awesome then....even better now. The musicianship was outstanding. They went an hour and a half straight through. Lukather and Paich are phenomenal plus they had Lenny Catro on percussion and its great to see David Hungate back after so many years away.

    Very moving intro

by dbdbdbdb50129 on 8/10/15The Grand Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino - Mashantucket

Opening the show with 'Onward' and just Chris' Rickenbacker on stage was very moving. Unfortunately, because I was in the nosebleed seats, I missed most of the AV part of the show. I wish Yes production thought about all the people who were there. The sound for this show was very unbalanced - it's one thing to say Yes has a bad show now and then, but the sound should at least be balanced. Billy's base was only prominent sometimes, I rarely heard the keyboards and Steve's speaking voice was unintelligible. Toto got it right and they had way more people on stage. I applaud the live performance, and it's always good to see my hero's play - but after 47 years, you think they'd hire a sound manager who could produce the concert properly. So, yes to seeing Yes, but I enjoyed the music more on my iPod.

Toto was a 5 star performance. Yes 0 stars sorry.

by Groove006 on 8/10/15The Grand Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino - Mashantucket

Toto was on fire by the 3rd song Lukather played the best I've ever heard him and that's saying something. During a solo when Toto slipped in Hendrix Little wing Luke stepped into musical trancendence. The whole venue stood nearly together to roar our recognition of what was taking place. The whole band was "on" if i had to say anything I would have like to change it would've been Simon Phillips back on the kit. The new drummer was very good but Simon is a master. Yes going through an awful time of grieving was hardly present. They never looked at each other the new bassist Bill Sherwood was not up to filling huge shoes and Geoff Downes was really disappointing. The saddest performance was legend Steve Howe. Completly out of sync and stiff barely able to get a riff out on time or played with any feel. I've seen Yes twice before and they were fantastic. I'm afraid it's time for Yes to do the right thing and retire. No Squire no Yes. I felt for Howe and I think he knows it too. Very sad.

    Toto was AMAZING!

by SCSB on 8/10/15Lynn Auditorium - Lynn

Show was fantastic. Toto played for over 2 hours. Started on time. Very engaged with audience and made us feel special since it was their first show of the tour. Vocals were incredible. Steve's solo was unbelievable! Great mix of new and old tunes. These guys know how to put on a show and wish I could have seen them again while they were here in New England. Top shelf professional act in every way.

Toto was amazing!!!!! Yes was sad.

by Greenrabbit on 8/10/15The Grand Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino - Mashantucket

As a Yes follower for many years. They need to retire. Steve Howe is incredible ,but he looked worn out. I thought there was a woman singing the lead. We left at the 3rd song. I didn't want to ruin my memories of Yes.

    TOTO & YES

by kingtut7 on 8/10/15The Grand Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino - Mashantucket

Having seen TOTO in 1978 when they first came together & followed them through their ups and downs dealing with line-up changes & the deaths of Jeff Pocaro in the early 90's( one of the best session & live drummers on the planet) and the death of his bass playing brother Mike (not an original member) this spring from a long battle with ALS, the line-up Friday night contained 4 of the 6 original members along with a new a new drummer & lead singer plus Lenny Costello on percussion & 2 great back-up singers, the night was a sensational treat! Having original members bassist David Hungate & synthesizers keyboard wizard Steve Porcaro back in the line-up was unbelievable. As for YES, it was a true disappointment. A couple original members & the crowd appeared to be long time YES fans, but the act appeared to be the quality of a bar band. The best time I saw them was when 90125 album came out & I had a back stage pass at the Hartford, CT civic center in the mid 80's and it was great. Not Friday night. I'm 61 & I brought my 23 year old son and all we wanted to do is leave the YES portion. We had VIP seats in the 12th row and it didn't matter, to put it bluntly, they sucked.

Toto & Yes started their tour together at Foxwoods. Each band played 90 minutes. Toto went on first and blistered through their set which included 3 songs from their new album Toto XIV. Joseph Williams singing was great, David Paich was a vituioso on piano. Steve Porcaro was great on keyboards but the star of the show was Steve Lukather who is one of the most underrated lead guitarists in rock history. Standout songs were Roseanna, Georgy Porgy, Great Expectations & Hold The Line. For Yes, this was the first show without Chris Squire who passed away in July. The show opened with a spot light on Chis's Base Guitar while Onward was playing and a picture montage of Chris through the years. Jon Davison the new lead singer was fine but his stage presence is a little amateurish. Billy Sherwood did fine in replacing Chris. Steve Howe still can play but looks ancient. Stand out songs were Tempis Fugit, All Good People, Starship Troopers.

Toto and Yes : One Amazing Night!

by RocknChefJ on 8/10/15The Grand Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino - Mashantucket

I have been to well over 3000 concerts in my life time and this one shot to the very top as the best ever I have seen. Toto has been my most favorite band forever and I never thought I would get to see them live. We did the meet and greets and it was a wonderful experience! Can't wait to go see them again!

Toto Was Great - Yes Was Unbelievable!!!!!!!

by BigBill56 on 8/10/15The Grand Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino - Mashantucket

I've seen and followed Toto for years and have always enjoyed their music and shows. The new members added a harder edge to their songs. I wasn't disappointed however I feel their "Live In Amsterdam" performance was by FAR the best ever. Not sure I would go again. One other complaint - sound level was DEAFENING! "YES" REALLY blew me away! Truly amazing sound, video presentation and musicianship! Steve Howe is as great as ever! A MUST SEE!!!!!! Would DEFINITELY go again!

What a terrific show Toto puts on. Highly entertaining. It was such a great performance. After the show, we caught some of the guys before they left on their tour bus to go to their next show, and the band members were so kind, friendly, and truly spent their time talking to my mom and I. We talked with band member Lenny Castro for a while, and he was incredibly genuine. One of the best concerts I've ever been to.

    by Debbie8695 on 8/9/15Lynn Auditorium - Lynn

We all loved Toto from 40 years ago, but I wasn't sure if they would have the energy they used to have in putting on a great performance. Well, they certainly did. They played all their hits, they were lots of fun to watch, and I had a great time. Yes, I do recommend. The venue is excellent.

LOVE Toto!! Band sounds great. Put on a great 2 hour show with great energy. I was so happy they are touring that i also went to see them at the Foxwoods show in CT - their show with Yes. Both shows were great.
