  • An excellent roster of films

by MGK on 9/15/25Scotiabank Theatre Cinema 9 - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I recommend going to TIFF to see films by little known international directors, most of which will not open commercially in Canada. (I usually skip the major names because I know I will have plenty of chances to see the films later.) You often get a post-film discussion with the director, and sometimes others involved, so it is a good opportunity to learn more about the themes and the making of the film. This is particularly interesting for films from countries that I do not know a lot about.

  • TIFF was great, but....

by Davis on 9/15/25Visa Screening Room at Princess of Wales Theatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

As usual, the film selection at TIFF was amazing. The venues are great the volunteers are incredible. We saw only 6 films this time. All were good to excellent. Our only issue is with Ticketmaster. The process of buying tickets seems unnecessarily complicated and time consuming. In fact, we would have seen more films if the selection process were easier to manage. Ticketmaster does not let you know until you have spent time seeing what films fit into your schedule, read the description and then when you click to purchase you are told it is sold out. Prices seemed a little high this year. 5 star rating for TIFF and 1 star for Ticketmaster.

  • TIFF 50

by Jonathan on 9/15/25Visa Screening Room at Princess of Wales Theatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

TIFF threw another incredible festival this year - with stellar films, engaging Q&A’s and great customer service (including from volunteers).

  • Not too shabby.

by Wooz on 9/14/25Royal Alexandra Theatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Might have been the best of the 4 I have attended. Great movies, some great post movie appearances by casts and crew. The only tricky thing I had was accessing Ticketmaster (which was on me) and I kept ending up on the wrong corner for the ticket holder line, also on me. Being an early bird member definitely helped my ability to get into better movies.

  • TIFF 50 (Tiffty) did not disappoint…

    by LUG69 on 9/14/25Roy Thomson Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I have had a TIFF membership for a number of years now… the evolution of TIFF from a small festival to what it is now is spectacular. This year I saw 7 fabulous movies and my only regret was not getting a higher membership to get tickets earlier. Many I wanted to see were unfortunately sold out. I did see Christy, which surpassed my expectations and was simply a must see. All the movies were fabulous and I was excited to see them. I had bought tickets for a movie I wanted to see, but then a friend asked me to see the movie ‘A Road Between Us’ which was banned then allowed one showing, one time, in one theatre. I felt so privileged to be there. Even though there were protests on the other side, the police and TIFF handled everything so well. I was so impressed that Cameron Bailey introduced the movie and was I intrigued and interested in the thought provoking movie. On another note, in order to see this movie, I had to sell my tickets to the other movie at the same time and found the selling seamlessly on TIFF. At all these movies, I noticed the tremendous amount of volunteers; who were amazing and definitely need a shoutout. The time, coordination and execution of these movies takes a village and TIFF must have a very large village. It was a privilege attending TIFF 50 this year and I look forward to attending for many years to come.

  • A Fun Adventure

by Joe on 9/14/25Royal Alexandra Theatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The films and people were great! Wonderful venues. The only thing to work on is telling people where the ticket holder line is. This was changed as many as five times. I would recommend this festival!

  • Fantastic 🤩

by Dildora Melikova on 9/14/25Visa Screening Room at Princess of Wales Theatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The whole festival was amazing and well organised. There were paid and free movies/activities (for example cinema in the park series) so people with different budget could enjoy the fest. Me and my husband watched 2 movies “the dead man’s wire” and “the wizard of the kremlin”. Both films were interesting, the cast was fantastic and actors played so good. The cinema in the park was an absolute delightful surprise, I visited it with my friends. Loved the movie selection and the organisation. There were chairs, clean bathrooms, snacks and most importantly- the stuff (volunteers) were super friendly and amazing! One of the best experiences in Toronto! Can’t wait for the next year! Happy TIFFing! ❤️

  • Big screens, bold stories. Cheers to another TIFF-ty!

by Anupa K. on 9/14/25Roy Thomson Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I love TIFF! A whirlwind of cinema, storytellers, and unforgettable moments — all unfolding in my own neighbourhood. Each screening feels like a celebration of art and community. Cheers to many more TIFF-tastic years!

  • Amazing, for film lovers!

by Lucky Luke on 9/14/25Scotiabank Theatre Cinema 11 - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

A great array of films with a focus on storytelling, artistry and the cinematic. This isn’t a place to be seen but a place to explore and appreciate.

  • Too many good movies!

    by Rujo55 on 9/14/25Scotiabank Theatre Cinema 13 - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Although we watched almost 20 films there were probably 20 more that I wanted to see. Great year at TIFF!

  • This wonderful documentary was unfairly treated

by Misselaineous on 9/13/25Roy Thomson Hall - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

Security and handling of large audience excellent. The film was wonderful. The fact there was only one showing, the timing of the premier on a weekday afternoon was simply punitive. No press and industry showing was unfair. This was not a political film but a beautiful humanitarian story. Too bad more people were prevented from seeing it. This does not reflect well on TIFF, a supposedly world class film festival. Despite the excellent film, the circumstances surrounding it left a sour taste in my mouth.

  • Good movies

by Irina on 9/13/25Roy Thomson Hall - TorontoRating: 2 out of 5

I was extremely negatively surprise to see ticket prices (re-sales?) in the hundreds of $. This is disgusting. Please keep prices the same or very close to original. TIFF should not be this kind of money making endeavour.

  • Great way to see films with people with the same interests

by Theo on 9/13/25Visa Screening Room at Princess of Wales Theatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I learned a lot about films that I hadn’t even heard of. The people waiting in line have such different taste in films.

  • Consistency to support great movies

by Maple Fan on 9/13/25Roy Thomson Hall - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Some really good movies, great to see stars/ directors. Rules at one venue, RTH very different for bags, Etc. then other venues theatres of TIFF/ I think consistency is better. 😎

  • Loved it! I will be back!

by Foli on 9/11/25TIFF Lightbox Cinema 3 - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Loved it except the process to buy tickets, wish we could put more than one movie in our basket.

  • Great event in a great city

by VT Traveler on 9/10/25Visa Screening Room at Princess of Wales Theatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Spent four nights in Toronto and saw nine films: a couple clunkers (which, ironically, we haven't stopped talking about), some very good films, and a couple truly great films. This Festival is fast becoming our yearly pilgramage.
