THE WONDER YEARS IN CONCERT:
Pop punk outfit The Wonder Years lives up to its nostalgic moniker, treating fans to coming-of-age anthems that perfectly encapsulate the ups and downs of adolescence. Charismatic frontman Dan "Soupy" Campbell is known for his powerful, emotive vocals, and he makes captures the essence of young adulthood perfectly on hard-charging songs like "Won't Be Pathetic Forever" and "You're Not Salinger, Get Over It". With their brisk combination of galloping drums, heavily distorted guitars, and soaring vocals, The Wonder Years always treat fans to an adrenaline-filled concert experience on their unforgettable tours.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
The Wonder Years formed in Pennsylvania in 2005 from the ashes of pop punk band The Premier. After releasing two split EPs with other local bands, they made their full-length debut in 2007 with the album Get Stoked On It! The record introduced listeners to their clever songwriting with cheekily-titled tracks like "I Feel in Love with a Ninja Master" and "Buzz Aldrin: The Poster Boy for Second Place", and before long their growing fanbase drew them out for extensive touring. The band followed up in 2010 with Upside, a more polished effort that landed at No. 5 on the Alternative charts thanks to catchy tracks like "Melrose Diner" and "This Party Sucks". Amid a busy touring schedule, the band released two more critically and commercially successful albums including 2013's The Greatest Generation -- a Top 20 hit on the Billboard 200. A passionate and energetic live act with nearly a decade of experience under their belt, The Wonder Years continue to wow ticket buyers with their high-octane sound and relatable lyrics on tour.
Dan Campbell and the Wonder Years absolutely crushed it. Hot Mulligan was great too, but the Wonder Years literally put on one of the best live shows I’ve ever seen!
Saw twy, hot mulligan and carly cosgrove at both wilmington dates and they were seriously the best concerts I’ve ever been to!! The wonder years always puts on a great show with tons of energy but after not seeing them since 2015 I forgot how much I missed their stage presence. Truly unmatched!
Bands were amazing venue was nice but I had specifically purchased seats due to me having a spinal cord injury and I was told it was standing room due to venue change
I was excited to see the show, but the sound was so loud we couldn’t even enjoy ourselves. The two opening acts sounded great, but when the wonder years took the stage, their sound was so loud you couldn’t even hear things clearly. Terrible experience and i paid for an upgraded VIP tickets as well.
It was easy time to get into the venue. Quick checking in process. I liked how they gave the wristbands as we were waiting in line to get in, which made the process even more efficient. I liked how there were many bars/bartenders available to serve drinks. The Wonder Years, Hot Mulligan, and Carly Cosgrove were great as I expected, just great. A lot of space and did not feel squished. Just a great time overall, even though I don't like LA itself.
There's not a musician on the planet who puts out better music, let alone puts on a better show. Their LA show was like being baptized. Please never stop touring!!
Hot Mulligan and The Wonder Years are two of my favorite bands and it was such an amazing show! They KILLED it <3
What an amazing show in Columbia! The Wonder Years are the most criminally under appreciated band going. phenomenal musicians, powerful song writing and great Steve presence. Sounded better live than on recording . Lead singer Dan Campbell powered through 22 songs with his arm in a sling and still brought his awesome energy. Main opener Hot Mulligan put on a great show that would have stood on its own. Early opener Carly Cosgrove were good and have a lot of potential. Great show, great venue!
Hot Mulligan and The Wonder Years were both amazing live. Great venue. Would love to see either of them again.
The Wonder Years are so amazing to see live! This band is in my top five of greatest performances. The singer had a torn rotater cuff and still managed to put everything they had into thier performance. Made my night!
The opening bands were great! The Wonder Years we’re absolutely amazing! One of the best shows I’ve been to in a LONG time.
They played some great songs and the energy was alright for a while, but Dan just brings the mood down so far with his melodrama and soapbox-standing. We get it dude, your grandparents are dead. You're 37, it would be weird if they weren't.
These guys are a blast every. Single. Time. They’ve kept a fanbase for over a decade, and the energy never fails. Still the same underground show vibes 15 years down the road and it’s always a great time!
the wonder years are the best band in the world. the wonder years are the best band in the world.
Dan Campbell sounds even better live, and the whole band had amazing vibes. Was definitely worth driving ten hours for!
The wonder years were incredible but they ran out of ADA seating. That venue needs more ADA seating. I left halfway through the set because I couldn’t take it anymore.
It was a fantastic show from the first note to the last. Very inexpensive for the length, also. 3 openers and 2h of actual main show? Honestly, 10/10 would recommend.
All the bands were great, and the venue was very well set up and organized. My only issue was that the sound mixing was not good - for many of the bands, it was hard to hear the vocals, and the sound was so loud that my ears were ringing for hours afterwards.
TWY always puts on a fantastic show. Played my 2 favourite albums in full. Great openers as well!
Maybe it's because weve been locked down for so long, or maybe it's because the supporting bands (especially Spanish Love Songs) were also incredible. But holy cow (pardon my French) that was the best night my wife and I have ever had! Thank you to the staff and the bands for all being great and upholdithr vax and mask rules, felt very safe even though i kept singing my mask off 😂
