Pop punk outfit The Wonder Years lives up to its nostalgic moniker, treating fans to coming-of-age anthems that perfectly encapsulate the ups and downs of adolescence. BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
The Wonder Years formed in Pennsylvania in 2005 from the ashes of pop punk band The Premier. After releasing two split EPs with other local bands, they made their full-length debut in 2007 with the album Get Stoked On It! The record introduced listeners to their clever songwriting with cheekily-titled tracks like "I Feel in Love with a Ninja Master" and "Buzz Aldrin: The Poster Boy for Second Place", and before long their growing fanbase drew them out for extensive touring. The band followed up in 2010 with Upside, a more polished effort that landed at No. 5 on the Alternative charts thanks to catchy tracks like "Melrose Diner" and "This Party Sucks". Amid a busy touring schedule, the band released two more critically and commercially successful albums including 2013's The Greatest Generation -- a Top 20 hit on the Billboard 200. A passionate and energetic live act with nearly a decade of experience under their belt, The Wonder Years continue to wow ticket buyers with their high-octane sound and relatable lyrics on tour.

by tson on 3/10/13The Stone Pony - Asbury ParkI came into the show only having listened to the wonder years and fireworks, but hostage calm and misser both put on shows I won't forget. Misser was a great blend of east coast and west coast pop punk, I immediately went home and downloaded their CD's afterwards. Hostage Calm also put on a good show. Then when Fireworks came on is when everyone got crazy, and they performed an awesome high energy set. Finally the wonder years came on, and at this point everyone was pumped. They played one of the best sets I have ever seen them play. It was a surprise when they opened with Local Man instead of Came out Swinging, but they saved that for later. For me the highlight was when Soupy said "I think its time for an old one" and then they played You're not Salinger, Get Over it. It's amazing that the Wonder Years can have so much energy after coming off of an Australia tour 3 days ago. I will never get tired of seeing them play.

I had never been to a show at the royale prior to this one and can honestley say its a great venue, good sound, didnt feel to big or to small. Would definatley go to the royale again.
