THE BRILLIANT ORIGINAL RETURNS "MORE SPECTACULAR THAN EVER" - Sunday Express

The Phantom is back to thrill audiences once again! Cameron Mackintosh presents a revitalized new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's legendary musical, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, which was rapturously received by London critics when it reopened in 2021. Featuring Maria Björnson's brilliant original design and based on the celebrated direction of Harold Prince, with musical staging and choreography by Gillian Lynne, PHANTOM will launch a new multi-year North American tour in November 2025, premiering at the Cadillac Palace Theatre in Chicago December 11, 2025 - February 1, 2026.

THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA is widely considered one of the most beautiful and spectacular productions in history, playing to over 160 million people in 47 territories and 195 cities in 21 languages. Andrew Lloyd Webber's romantic, haunting, and soaring score includes "The Music of the Night," "All I Ask of You," "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again," "Masquerade," and the iconic title song. It tells the tale of a disfigured musical genius known only as 'The Phantom' who haunts the depths of the Paris Opera House. Mesmerized by the talents and beauty of a young soprano, Christine, The Phantom lures her as his protégé and falls fiercely in love with her. Unaware of Christine's love for Raoul, The Phantom's obsession sets the scene for a dramatic turn of events where jealousy, madness, and passions collide.

  • Awesome production

by kauasnana on 12/23/19Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

Why I didn't give 5 stars is because for this set dress circle tickets at the Cadillac Theatre actually had an obstructed view for a few of the scenes. It would have been better to know that ahead of time as different seats would have been purchased. Aside from that, awesome production and set.

  • Good

by Kathy on 12/22/19Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 3 out of 5

The performance was good. The theater should refund our money because it was very cold and cold air was blowing directly on us. We had to wear coats, scarfs and gloves . The cold took Away from the performance. I asked the manager during intermission To turn the cold air off and nothing was done.

Phantom was all that I hoped it would be and more! The Cadillac Theater is a beautiful venue and adds to the magical quality of the production. The performers were perfectly suited to their characters. The performances could not have been more impressive!

  • Outstanding!

by Kay on 12/22/19Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

This is the 3rd time that I've been able to see this touring company of Phantom of the Opera. Let me tell you that the staging and everything that goes into the show is OUTSTANDING. This is my second time seeing Derrick Davis as the Phantom and each time I've seen him I've SOBBED at the end of the show. He's such a wonderful singer and actor and takes his portrayal of the Phantom and makes it his own. The rest of the company was absolutely stunning. I am sad to see the tour closing. But if you can, definitely get tickets to see the last lap of the tour!!

  • Fantastic show

    by K. S. on 12/22/19Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

My wife and I had great tickets. I am 6’4” and had more than enough leg room. My wife is 5’3” and still had an excellent sight line to the stage. The theater is iconic, and the acoustics were perfect. I have never seen an audience like this one. No sneezing, no coughing, no talking, and everyone didn’t move a muscle during the performance. It was that riveting. Next show—Riverdance!!

  • Wonderful

It was a wonderful experience. We love the music in this play. All the actors were great, but the actor who played the phantom was spectacular. Would highly recommend.

  • The coldest place in Chicago

by Mr Freeze on 12/22/19Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 1 out of 5

The show is great, amazing, stunning and everything you would expect it to be. The theater, however, is so cold that people sit there with their coats and hats on, some even leave because it is so cold. If you can take the cold and don't mind paying three digits to be frozen, go ahead and enjoy the show.

  • All performers were excellent

by JanKen on 12/21/19Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

All performers were excellent and we especially loved the Phantom - he was fabulous! Director, music, scenery, lighting, acoustics, staff were all wonderful. Was a very cold and windy evening, however, and we were uncomfortable while waiting for the performance.

This was my first time seeing Phantom of the Opera on stage, and I could not have been more pleased with the performance. Having grown up enjoying the movie and soundtrack, it was always a dream of mine to see the story live. The talent was incredible, stage setup awe-inspiring and overall atmosphere magical. I am blessed to be able to fulfill this dream, especially to see an outstanding performance by the Phantom. Highly recommend.

This show was outstanding - and I am really not typically a fan of this type of thing. This was a gift for my wife, and I enjoyed it as much as she did. It was excellent.
