THE BRILLIANT ORIGINAL RETURNS "MORE SPECTACULAR THAN EVER" - Sunday Express

The Phantom is back to thrill audiences once again! Cameron Mackintosh presents a revitalized new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's legendary musical, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, which was rapturously received by London critics when it reopened in 2021. Featuring Maria Björnson's brilliant original design and based on the celebrated direction of Harold Prince, with musical staging and choreography by Gillian Lynne, PHANTOM will launch a new multi-year North American tour in November 2025, premiering at the Cadillac Palace Theatre in Chicago December 11, 2025 - February 1, 2026.

THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA is widely considered one of the most beautiful and spectacular productions in history, playing to over 160 million people in 47 territories and 195 cities in 21 languages. Andrew Lloyd Webber's romantic, haunting, and soaring score includes "The Music of the Night," "All I Ask of You," "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again," "Masquerade," and the iconic title song. It tells the tale of a disfigured musical genius known only as 'The Phantom' who haunts the depths of the Paris Opera House. Mesmerized by the talents and beauty of a young soprano, Christine, The Phantom lures her as his protégé and falls fiercely in love with her. Unaware of Christine's love for Raoul, The Phantom's obsession sets the scene for a dramatic turn of events where jealousy, madness, and passions collide.

  • Stayed true to the tradition of Phantom

    by DanceEnthusiast1 on 1/19/14Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

Love the new production, partly because it didn't veer too much from the original. The cylindrical stage with the vanishing stairs and the producers' room were an excellent addition. Excellent Phantom but the voice of Christine was below average (I wonder if she was having mic problems this day!) disappointed with the chandelier crash (or the lack of)

This was the first time that I saw the Phaantom of the Opera. I was very impressed with the singing. The scenery was excellent. I would recommend this play to everyone!

There were some incredible voices in this production. Some of the staging was really neat! However if you didn't already know the story the plot would be hard to follow. I couldn't understand the words when the chorus was singing. After all I had heard I expected the chandelier to be more spectacular. All in all not a bad a performance, but not my favorite.

  • The Phantom of the Opera was Fantastic!

Cadillac Palace Theater is a small intimate venue ideal for great sight and sound. Phantom is the best musical I've seen. It's a classic with songs that you remember and find yourself singing days later, and the storyline is easy to follow. "Music of the Night" is my favorite of the Phantom songs, and the performers did it justice. Powerful performances by the performers, beautiful costumes, and phenomenal staging were beyond my expectations. If you have the opportunity to see this Chicago production, I say, "Don't miss it!"

  • Fabulous Phantom

Andrew Lloyd Weber always delivers outstanding music to a rousing story. The talent of the cast members was astonishing. Sound was excellent. Staging was crisp and pyrotechnics were effective without being overbearing. The theater stage easily accommodated the splendor of the story and the lighting was effective in transitioning scene changes. A very entertaining evening!

  • Not worth the price

Production was poor. Sets were unimpressive. Performance was cut shot making storyline difficult to follow. I have see much better productions elsewhere. Not worth the prive of admission.

  • The Phantom was amazing!

by ppwi on 1/19/14Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

I thoroughly enjoyed the production of Phantom of the Opera at the Cadillac Palace Theatre in Chicago. The theatre itself is beautiful, there is plenty of legroom for the audience in the lower level, and the sets were very creative, especially since the stage at this venue is limited in size. The actor who plays the Phantom is especially talented. All the leads had excellent voices, (even the ones who are supposed to be singing off key!), and the actress who played Christine is a beautiful dancer, too. There were a few issues, such as delays with changing the sets between scenes, but that could be attributed to it being the opening week of the show. The Orchestra also was excellent. I would highly recommend seeing this production!

I took my 7 yr old granddaughter to see this show. It was her first stage production & I'm so glad we decided on this show! We had watched the movie & listened to the CD many many times. Nothing could come close to this show! We both had a memorable time & will definitely return to see this again!! Thank you for the wonderful experience!!

This is my third time seeing Phantom and once was on Broadway. This show had us on the edge of our seats similar to my experience in NY. The talent was good and they really did a great job of sucking you into their world. There were multiple times that my daughter grabbed my leg as she was so loved at times. My friend said she could see it again so I totally recommend the show. Much better than a few years ago when I saw it in Chicago. It really made an impression on all of us. Great job!

This is a great production. The changes made from original didn't hurt the storyline. Great singing. Seen Phantom about 6 times here and other cities. Worth going and seeing again.

I have seen Phantom 4 times now and I loved this one the best. The voices were great! Even though the stage was not large, the use of props was amazing. I want to see it again!

I saw Phanton in Vegas 22 times and thought it was the best. The principal performers in this Phantom were as good. The three lead actors have superb voices. Considering this is a traveling show, the scenery was good,

  • Fantastic

My sister and I received tickets to see this from my daughter for Christmas :) We loved the theatre version with Gerard Butler and loved it. We had a wonderful time, though I have to say make sure if you are being picked up to make sure they are there early..We basically were told you have to wait outside because we have to lock the door and set the alarm now..This was 15 min after the show ended.. Not very professional at all...

  • Phantom was excellent!

It has been almost 20 years since I saw Phantom the first time, so glad I was able to see it again. There have been some changes to the sets and numbers (unless I just don't remember correctly), which were fun to see. I loved the chandelier prop (I don't remember that from previous show), and the sets were great, especially for "Masquerade". The actors were fantastic, absolutely loved The Phantom and Christine. I have never sat in the Dress Circle before, and am so glad I waited for a date I could get tickets in that section for. You are a little far back (wish I had brought my glasses!), but overall have a great view, and easy in/out with there only being 3 rows in that section. All in all I had a great time at Phantom, and recommend you go see it!
