THE BRILLIANT ORIGINAL RETURNS "MORE SPECTACULAR THAN EVER" - Sunday Express
The Phantom is back to thrill audiences once again! Cameron Mackintosh presents a revitalized new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's legendary musical, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, which was rapturously received by London critics when it reopened in 2021. Featuring Maria Björnson's brilliant original design and based on the celebrated direction of Harold Prince, with musical staging and choreography by Gillian Lynne, PHANTOM will launch a new multi-year North American tour in November 2025, premiering at the Cadillac Palace Theatre in Chicago December 11, 2025 - February 1, 2026.
THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA is widely considered one of the most beautiful and spectacular productions in history, playing to over 160 million people in 47 territories and 195 cities in 21 languages. Andrew Lloyd Webber's romantic, haunting, and soaring score includes "The Music of the Night," "All I Ask of You," "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again," "Masquerade," and the iconic title song. It tells the tale of a disfigured musical genius known only as 'The Phantom' who haunts the depths of the Paris Opera House. Mesmerized by the talents and beauty of a young soprano, Christine, The Phantom lures her as his protégé and falls fiercely in love with her. Unaware of Christine's love for Raoul, The Phantom's obsession sets the scene for a dramatic turn of events where jealousy, madness, and passions collide.

This was the best production I have seen of Phantom of the Opera. It was amazing!!!
The scenery and rotating stage was incredible! The voices and acting were amazing! Positively the most delightful evening!
I LOVE this musical! I have seen it many times over the years and was very excited for a new tour coming through. However.... I wish I had known that it had been changed from the show that I fell in love with. The music is still excellent. But, I noticed many changes. I understand that you might have to tweek a few things traveling from city to city, stage to stage. But, NO STAIRCASE FOR THE MASQUERADE?!?! COME ON!!! Acting was so-so. Singing was fantastic!! I really like Cooper Grodin's voice. If you have never seen this before, you will love it. If you have seen this years ago, like me, well, you've been warned.
We've seen Phantom a few times over the years, but this was the most elaborately staged and exciting. Acting and singing were marvelous. Thoroughly enjoyable, especially from 4th row center.
Staging was beautiful. Troope was very versatile. The three leads have beautiful voices! Go see it!
Fantastic performance of Phantom! Great casting and wonderful voices that matched each role well. I have seen this show multiple times in the past and it still amazes me. Highly recommend!
Amazing, this outstanding performance brought us to tears. Waited 6 years to see this live in Chicago. Every bit worth the wait.
I had seen the original production and liked it, but this is a great new production. It may be a little bit shorter than the original, but all the great songs are still there. Brilliant set design with a rotating tower that opens up to display different scenes (and those retractable steps are really cool!).
I would highly reccomend this show to anyone. the Music is Epic, the show was awesome. This is the second time I've seen it, and I was a little dissapointed in the climax of the first act, but that may have been due to venue restrictions. Only reason I'd had any dissapointment @ all was due to how it was handled the first time.
The set was absolutely amazing! It would turn and parts would open at different scenes. WHen they descended into the dungeons, stairs would protrude from the side and then move back into the set after.
This is the third time we have seen The Phantom. Once before in Chicago, the other in Las Vegas. This is the best yet! Just loved it. The singing is breathtaking!
I had heard the reviews of Phantom before going last Sunday and was very excited to go. It exceeded my expectations. It is beautifully staged and the characters have rich voices. The Phantom is evil and crazy and yet you feel for him at the end. I hope I get a chance to see it again before it closes.
Amazing performance. Effects were great, sound was incredible.
We've never been to a performance of Phantom before, and we were not disappointed by this production. The music was superb and powerful. We were especially impressed with the Phantom as he did a marvelous job making us hate him and then cry for his pain. Highly recommended!
Having seen the Phantom production numerous times through the years, I wasn't sure what to expect from this newly revised version. I was pleasantly surprised. It surpassed my expectations. The cast was phenomenal. The vocal range of the Phantom, Christine and Raoul were amazing. I had no problem believing Cooper Grodin as the Phantom. He definitely fills Michael Crawford's shoes. The stage arrangements were clever and imaginative. I may try to see it again while it is still here.
Phantom was fabulous, amazing!! I want to see it again, I would highly recommend it to anyone & everyone. The set/props were absolutely beautiful. Great performance put on by all. Loved it!!!!!!!
The show was simply incredible. I've seen Phantom many times but this productions was truly remarkable. The moving pieces were seamless and like a movie set. the talent was top notch. The phantom was spellbinding, he made me cry! the only negative thing about this theater is there is a monitor stage right that is displaying a red glow of words to all the music, everyone around me found it incredibly distracting and pulling focus from the stage actors and music. the red ticker tape monitor glows in the dark and is in front of the entire theater so you cannot miss it. if someone needs to read the words, that's understandable but put it off to the side or somewhere less distracting than front stage.
Fourth time we've seen it in three different cities. BY FAR the best rendition of Phantom we've ever seen.
Excellent performance, the set design was outstanding! Would highly recommend, I will be going again before the tour is over.
