THE BRILLIANT ORIGINAL RETURNS "MORE SPECTACULAR THAN EVER" - Sunday Express
The Phantom is back to thrill audiences once again! Cameron Mackintosh presents a revitalized new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's legendary musical, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, which was rapturously received by London critics when it reopened in 2021. Featuring Maria Björnson's brilliant original design and based on the celebrated direction of Harold Prince, with musical staging and choreography by Gillian Lynne, PHANTOM will launch a new multi-year North American tour in November 2025, premiering at the Cadillac Palace Theatre in Chicago December 11, 2025 - February 1, 2026.
THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA is widely considered one of the most beautiful and spectacular productions in history, playing to over 160 million people in 47 territories and 195 cities in 21 languages. Andrew Lloyd Webber's romantic, haunting, and soaring score includes "The Music of the Night," "All I Ask of You," "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again," "Masquerade," and the iconic title song. It tells the tale of a disfigured musical genius known only as 'The Phantom' who haunts the depths of the Paris Opera House. Mesmerized by the talents and beauty of a young soprano, Christine, The Phantom lures her as his protégé and falls fiercely in love with her. Unaware of Christine's love for Raoul, The Phantom's obsession sets the scene for a dramatic turn of events where jealousy, madness, and passions collide.

Saw it with my family...we loved it and would highly recommend it.
Love the show! I am always amazed at what can be accomplished on stage. The cast, orchestra, and crew. My 9 yr old son was an the edge of his seat the whole time. I am so glad that this was his first real play that we introduced him to.
Beautiful venue, awesome voices and costumes, if you get the chance go you will love it.
I had not seen Phantom in Years so had no idea what to expect. I was absolutely AMAZED. Cooper Grodin has a beautiful voice and the it was a very well done production. The set design was extremely creative and it was just fantastic. If I could afford it, I would go back and see it again.
Good production. Nice staging. Male leads had strong voices but lacked stage presence. Disappointingly long show.
Took my wife and stepdaughter to chicago for shopping weekend. Phantom was a climax. The music was powerful, the actors dynamic.
Singers were great! However the presentation and the changes were not enjoyable. The rotating device center stage was not good and ruined the performance. Why were the changes necessary? To many liberties taken and did not improve story line just took away from it. The Phantom's lair was poorly designed and ruined the end were he disappears. Mascaraed was under preformed! Phantom entrance and costume did not have any presence. Don't try to change a good thing in the future! To many gimmicks!
Phantom was everything I had hoped for and more. Love the music and scenery.
This is a must see performance. We sat in thirteen row. The seats were phenomenal and I would definitely recommend this row the view is wonderful. The costumes were a delight. The cast was outstanding.
I loved the voices and the venue. The only issue I had was that the phantom didn't show up in random places around the actual venue. When I saw it at lyric opera that is what set the mood and the ambiance itself. The phantom really haunting the entire opera house. I enjoyed it very much other than that small detail.
This was the first time I have seen Phantom of the Opera on stage. I have been listening to the songs for years and have always pictured the scenes in my mind. When I first saw the stage I was amazed! The scenes performed as well as the performers were absolutely incredible. I loved the way the actors portrayed the characters as well as how they voiced them. The music, both instrumental and vocal, were astounding! The props and stage set also took my breath away throughout the entire performance! I found myself crying by the last song from just the sheer magnificence of it all.
Each year for his birthday, I give my husband tickets to a 'classical' event. This year it was Phantom of the Opera. Although he has seen it twice before many years ago, I had not. There is not much more to say except for breath-taking. The voices, the costumes, the staging...all top of the line professional in my humble opinion. This is the reason to attend theater in a major market. Our third row seats did not hurt either. :-). If you have a chance, go.
I thought that performances and singing were simply spectacular. The music live is soooo amazing. Can't say enough I truly loved this OPERA and it is my favorite.
I found the re-boot, too silly. I prefer the more serious version.
Loved the new sets and revisions in script. Very creative and allowed viewers to get a better sense of the relationship between the Phantom and Christine. Some of the singer's voices were a little thin. The Phantom was an understudy and his small frame lacked the depth of voice range others who played the part had However, he brought a wonderful sense of emotion to the part, especially at the end.. I didn't particularly care for the increased comedic role of Ubaldo Piangi. A bit over the top. The after effect of the fire special effects were disturbing. The smell was very strong and lasted for quite a while. Phantom remains one of my favorites and I recommend it heartily.
Different from the original but still wonderful. The music is the best very powerful and passionate. The Phantom is this production was very strong.....
Made us laugh, cry, and gasp! Also my jaw dropped a couple of times.
Phantom of the Opera is a must see event! The cast did a perfect job, the stage is incredible and accurate to the movie. Every moment is unforgettable!
I give this production a 5 star rating based on a 5 star scale. I saw The Phantom of the Opera at the Auditorium Theatre in 1994. I would have given that production a 10 star rating on a 5 star scale. This production is definitely worth seeing though.
I have seen Phantom a number of times. I love the new set, the special effects, and how it still moves me.
