About

Despite sharing their name with a northeastern state, the Maine formed in 2007 in Tempe, AZ, a collegiate suburb of Phoenix. Most of the bandmembers -- singer John O'Callaghan, guitarists Kennedy Brock and Jared Monaco, bassist Garrett Nickelsen, and drummer Pat Kirch -- were in high school at the time, and the guys wasted little time turning their '90s radio rock band influences into a familiar, infectious pop-punk sound. The Maine signed to Fearless Records and released a five-song concept EP, The Way We Talk, in 2007. After performing on the Vans Warped Tour one year later, the group issued a full-length debut album, Can't Stop Won't Stop, which was produced by emo-pop veteran Matt Squire. The record peaked at number 40 on the Billboard charts and caught the ear of Warner Bros. Records, who signed the Maine to a major-label contract in 2009. After releasing a deluxe version of Can't Stop Won't Stop later that year, the group returned to the studio, eventually emerging in 2010 with the sophomore album Black & White. ~ Steve Leggett, RoviDespite sharing their name with a northeastern state, the Maine formed in 2007 in Tempe, AZ, a collegiate suburb of Phoenix. Better than I could have imagined

by Aleksandr on 12/13/23The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver Spring

The Maine is such an incredible band, I've been listening for quite a few years and was lucky enough to see them in a smaller venue that was far more intimate. They connect with their audience and John is such a genuine person. They performed their hearts out, pulled a fan on stage and let him sing with them, and walked down into the pit. I can safely say this is one of the best concerts I've ever been to and had the privilege of experiencing. The openers were incredible, Daisy Grenade brought a lot of energy, Flor was another band I've been a long time fan of, and both bands performed their hearts out before The Maine came on stage. Phenomenal.

by Samantha on 12/11/23Citizens House of Blues Boston - Boston

I travelled from Montreal to Boston to see the Maine for the first time in 9 years (way too long) and they did not disappoint. They are my favourite band to see live and I can’t wait to see them again in the future.

Best Band, Not the Best Venue

by Kw on 12/4/23House of Blues Chicago - Chicago

LOVED every second of The Maine's performance, but that venue is way too small for them. House of blues has nowhere to stand, and once you find a spot with a decent view, you are constantly getting squeezed past because no one has a path to walk through. They have too many VIP sections roped off that could be more space for people to stand. They have outgrown this venue.

So much better than I could have anticipated

by Fatima on 12/4/23House of Blues Chicago - Chicago

The Maine put on such a great show! Great energy! I felt like the set list was organized really well and they were able to encompass and showcase everything from their career. I wish I had gone to all the other shows they had had throughout the years. I am definitely going again if I ever have the chance to see them again!

My experience seeing The Maine was such a great time, I liked the size of the venue and I was able to have a good view of the band without being in the crowd. The sound was great, overall a wonderful experience!

    Underwhelming Sweet 16

by CSWSG on 11/14/23The Bellwether - Los Angeles

Had high hopes for this tour after a great new album. Bummed LA show they didn’t do more off the new album and that they did not play songs from each album they usually don’t. Felt like a missed opportunity for a great night.

Friendly staff, petty rules and no water

    by Ari on 8/4/23

The workers were all very nice but I was not allowed to bring my hydro pack with my bladder (completely empty) for water. This would be fine if they had water available but they were only giving out tiny cups at the bar of 2oz waters or you could pay $7 for a liquid death (which isn’t standard water). Overall good show but disappointing on the expectations for keeping people safe and hydrated.
