Despite sharing their name with a northeastern state, the Maine formed in 2007 in Tempe, AZ, a collegiate suburb of Phoenix. Most of the bandmembers -- singer John O'Callaghan, guitarists Kennedy Brock and Jared Monaco, bassist Garrett Nickelsen, and drummer Pat Kirch -- were in high school at the time, and the guys wasted little time turning their '90s radio rock band influences into a familiar, infectious pop-punk sound. The Maine signed to Fearless Records and released a five-song concept EP, The Way We Talk, in 2007. After performing on the Vans Warped Tour one year later, the group issued a full-length debut album, Can't Stop Won't Stop, which was produced by emo-pop veteran Matt Squire. The record peaked at number 40 on the Billboard charts and caught the ear of Warner Bros. Records, who signed the Maine to a major-label contract in 2009. The setlist was a good mix of songs from the new album along with some older songs. The venue was great and the staff were nice. A good night all around.

Came out into the seats and interacted with the crowd, noticed what people were doing in the crowd and joined in and then saw a guy who was clearly a big fan and had him come on stage and perform with them. This was my first time ever seeing them live and I would see them again I. A heartbeat!

All 5 of our boys had such high energy the entire time, even after playing at When We Were Young Festival earlier in the day. John's interactions with the crowd were fun. Made for such a unique show. One I'll never forget for sure.

They put on an AMAZING and energetic show. The front man is constantly addressing individuals in the crowd and even invited several people on stage to share the mic over the course of the show. He was also very funny! I will ABSOLUTELY go see them again when they return to Las Vegas!!

And then to see Beach Weather, Valley and The Maine?! What a killer weekend trip. I was very impressed. Hope to make it back again
