About

The Disco Biscuits rose to prominence in the ‘90s by pioneering their own genre: “trancefusion,” which bridges the gap between electronic music and Frank Zappa-influenced jam bands. The quartet of Jon "The Barber" Gutwillig (guitar), Marc Brownstein (bass), Sam Altman (drummer, later replaced by Allen Aucoin) and Aron Magner (keys) met on the University of Pennsylvania campus in 1995. One year later, they released their debut album Encephalous Crime. The highly-danceable jam band transitioned from playing frat parties to touring in support of everyone from The Black Crowes to the Jerry Garcia Band. Over the years, The Disco Biscuits have released multiple experimental albums and EPs, and curated the annual Camp Bisco electronic music festival. In July 2023, they embarked on their first West Coast tour in nearly 14 years.

  • Amazing

by Bruce on 6/14/22Pier Six Pavilion - BaltimoreRating: 5 out of 5

The Disco Biscuits really brought the heat to Baltimore. Amazing performance. Everyone was dancing and grooving to the beats. Super fun and I can't wait to see them again.

  • Disco Biscuits are in another league.

by TonyG on 6/13/22Pier Six Pavilion - BaltimoreRating: 5 out of 5

I've been listening to the Disco Biscuits for years, this was my first show and I can't believe I waited so long to see them. They have almost 30 years of experience performing live, which really shows, and their unique sound is intoxicating to say the least. Can't wait to see them again. Umphrey's McGee was great too, the people, staff, and the venue were also great.

  • Should have opened thr show

by Shooter on 6/13/22Pier Six Pavilion - BaltimoreRating: 3 out of 5

Venue was great, seating was great, refreshments were pricey , that's to be expected. Opening act, Umphries McGee should have been the headliner, UM was incredible. The disco Biscuits were OK, but too much "smoking", we had to move outside. We left after about 90 minutes of the same beat, great lights though.

  • Great Show / Venue

by Matt on 6/12/22Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater - BridgeportRating: 5 out of 5

The Disco Biscuit are on to something special in the jam world! Great show and great venue.

  • Groovy

by Jason S. on 6/12/22Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater - BridgeportRating: 4 out of 5

The Disco Biscuits had an awesome light show with great sound. They also had an interesting audience. It was a nice show to people watch and dance to the hypnotic music they play. They are a good modern day jam band.

  • Terrible Place

by Obraman on 6/12/22Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater - BridgeportRating: 2 out of 5

Sterile, Corporate Amphitheater. Terrible sight lines. Awful sound. A “cold” concert experience. The bands did the best they could with the meager crowd and muddy sound. Even for my preferred artists I’ll skip this place.

  • Boring

by Jessie now Jerome on 4/5/22The Capitol Theatre - Port ChesterRating: 2 out of 5

Too jammy for me and the light show seemed gimmicky.

  • Great

by Murph on 4/5/22The Capitol Theatre - Port ChesterRating: 5 out of 5

by Bummer on 1/3/22The Fillmore Philadelphia - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

Went thru all the hoops, waited in all the lines and tigjt befor the show started i had to leave with my friend who fell ill. We were not partying or drinking. It was my only new years show and the first time to see the biscuits ( non covid restrictions. I am super bummed out. Im hoping i can afford another show soon.😥😥😥

  • There's sand in my Biscuits...

by munderson on 12/18/19Revolution Live - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

Bisco burned Ft. Lauderdale down! I'm grateful to have been there to have seen and felt it. The staff at Revolution was awesome, kind, and considerate. Much love for all that made it such a memorable weekend.

  • Fillmore

by Drew on 4/29/19Fillmore New Orleans - New OrleansRating: 3 out of 5

Show began at 12:30 AM! Doors opened at 10:00. Security was over the top entering with pat down a bit touchy. The DB’s seemed lazy with the jams. Possibly disinterested after scouring the crowd of young nerds who showed up. Acoustically the venue lacked the warmth that other older venues around town provide. Perhaps it’s my age, but with Govt. Mule the next night uptown the start time was 10:00 and left them closing the show a bit after 1:00AM. Seems more reasonable especially when you have Jazzfest to attend the next day.

  • Sorry if you don’t

by Shawn De on 1/5/19The Fillmore Philadelphia presented by Cricket Wireless - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

Greatest band ever. They should have a monument built in Philadelphia for them.
