About

The Disco Biscuits rose to prominence in the ‘90s by pioneering their own genre: “trancefusion,” which bridges the gap between electronic music and Frank Zappa-influenced jam bands. The quartet of Jon "The Barber" Gutwillig (guitar), Marc Brownstein (bass), Sam Altman (drummer, later replaced by Allen Aucoin) and Aron Magner (keys) met on the University of Pennsylvania campus in 1995. One year later, they released their debut album Encephalous Crime. The highly-danceable jam band transitioned from playing frat parties to touring in support of everyone from The Black Crowes to the Jerry Garcia Band. Over the years, The Disco Biscuits have released multiple experimental albums and EPs, and curated the annual Camp Bisco electronic music festival. In July 2023, they embarked on their first West Coast tour in nearly 14 years.

  • Amazing as always

by Butch K. on 6/13/23South Side Stage - HarrisburgRating: 5 out of 5

This was my 6th Disco Biscuits show since they last played this venue in Harrisburg on 9/9/2022. Six shows in nine months. I'm hooked on their unique blend of transcendental spacey-dance raver jam music. These guys always deliver an awesome show. I'd go more often I'm bound by various responsibilities. They are among my top favorite live bands along with Goose, Phish, and what remains of the Dead. If for some reason you're reading this thinking about maybe checking out the Biscuits: DO IT! Their show quality is equal to some of the bigger, more expensive ticket bands. They will blow your mind and leave you wanting more. The streams are only a shadow of what it's like to be there live.

  • First time I saw them. Excellent Show!

by Michael on 5/15/23Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

I listened to their music, but they are so much better live and good band to dance to.

  • Best Disco Run Ever!!!!!

by smokinghotpizza on 3/28/23The Capitol Theatre - Port ChesterRating: 5 out of 5

The run was absolutely amazinggggg! Each night was a gradual increase till the last night Mar.25th they completely blew the roof off of the cap with those two sets!! For it to be my only 14th show I can't recommend this band enough if you don't listen to them get on it! Best band in the Jam genre. Sorry if you don't!!!!

  • Epic Biscuits in their PRIME

by Dave V-Man on 3/28/23The Capitol Theatre - Port ChesterRating: 5 out of 5

Relentless and compelling, the energy and inventiveness of this group commands and uplifts the crowd. Intense light show. The precision of the music feels like a master class by professionals. Don’t miss it!

  • The Disco Biscuits at The Capitol Theater

by Brittany Moonbeam on 3/28/23The Capitol Theatre - Port ChesterRating: 5 out of 5

This was an awesome venue to see The Biscuits at. They have the option of balcony seating or GA on the floor. I recommend doing both if you can. The balcony was perfect for the light and laser show- we got full on visuals at a prime center spot on the balcony. Then we did the second night on the floor to mingle with all of our friends and dance the night away. The ushers were all super friendly and the sound was awesome. They even have snacks at the bar and at a booth. I found if you’re gonna park at the venue it’s best to get there early as there is only street parking. 10/10 would recommend and go again!

  • Still blowing my mind!

Saw Bisco for the first time on 4/20/98 in Philly, and all these decades later, they never cease to amaze me!!!

1st time at the Palace Theatre and I really enjoyed it and will definitely go back. Seat were easy to find as well as the restrooms. Beverages and snacks conveniently placed at entrance of venue so no confusion there either. Great venue & even better show!! 10 out of 10 guys!!

  • Great Band Venue could do better

by JTab on 1/22/23House of Blues Cleveland - ClevelandRating: 5 out of 5

The Disco Biscuits are a great band. The door staff at the House of Blues suck. There is no need to try to tuff guy people. This show was empty and everyone was over 30. They asked to take the metal out of your pockets then the guy goes into tuff guy mode like im doing something wrong because I have a pack of gum in my pocket. I asked about 10 people to come to this show with me who refused because it was at HOB. As soon as I was treated like that walking in...I can see why.

  • So lame

by Steph on 11/15/22House of Blues Boston - BostonRating: 1 out of 5

Ticket master changed the venue and I had to use a friends ticket because my barcode would not come up…. Also if I knew it was going to be at the house of blues I would’ve sold my ticket. Very lame.

  • eggy biscuit

by Budman on 11/15/22House of Blues Boston - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

The venue was great, all staff and bartenders were friendly and accommodated. opening band Eggy was a tough act to follow. Biscuits were great and delivered a good show.

  • In Top Form

    by Terpfan00 on 9/12/22South Side Stage - HarrisburgRating: 5 out of 5

From the opening until the end, The Biscuits nailed it. Great outdoor event. The new songs to the sets were long overdue. AWESOME night. Can't wait to see them again.

  • Awesome Music, Crowd Not So Much

by Jw on 8/31/22Riverfront Live - CincinnatiRating: 2 out of 5

I arrived to the show to see the opening band loading their vehicle. I was amazed that I paid 53.50 because it was day of show yet upon arrival to the venue, my friends only paid 44 at the venue box office. We didnt even get to see the band that we came for. I am very disappointed the show times changed without a fair warning. I felt that this venue was dingy and i saw gnats in the beer. Also the bathrooms were not air conditioned so once i relieved myself, i could not get cool again because the venue osoartialky outside. I also felt that some of the vocals could have been better but i think it was a sound board ans not the band fault. In all the thousands of dollars i have soent with tucjeaster, I never feel that i got ripped offbecsuse i live music evej if i dudnt get the memo about time changed, but i really did not get my money worth and feel ripped off. I can say that was the first venue where a Nitrous guy says he accepts venmo or cash app for balloons outside, .

  • Perfect

by Melissak242 on 6/22/22TD Pavilion at the Mann - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

I loved every minute of it. From the staff, parking and the bands. I love that it wasn’t that crowded. I mean with a total cost of about $360 for (2) two day passes and the cost of the alcohol and food. I was happy I didn’t have to deal with a huge crowd. My only complaint is the cost of the alcohol. I mean I got a margarita and with a 20% tip it cost me 29.00. That’s absolutely insane. The bathroom ladies were amazing.

  • Ok

by Kate hudson on 6/21/22TD Pavilion at the Mann - PhiladelphiaRating: 3 out of 5

Awesome venue, food was bad. Disco biscuits new music was not for me. All together a weird night.

  • The Disco Biscuits CRUSHED

by Amanda C on 6/21/22TD Pavilion at the Mann - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

The Disco Biscuits absolutely CRUSHED City Bisco. I'd highly recommend anyone to check out this amazing band. They just keep getting better! If only they played California, life would be better...
