About
The Disco Biscuits rose to prominence in the ‘90s by pioneering their own genre: “trancefusion,” which bridges the gap between electronic music and Frank Zappa-influenced jam bands. The quartet of Jon "The Barber" Gutwillig (guitar), Marc Brownstein (bass), Sam Altman (drummer, later replaced by Allen Aucoin) and Aron Magner (keys) met on the University of Pennsylvania campus in 1995. One year later, they released their debut album Encephalous Crime. The highly-danceable jam band transitioned from playing frat parties to touring in support of everyone from The Black Crowes to the Jerry Garcia Band. Over the years, The Disco Biscuits have released multiple experimental albums and EPs, and curated the annual Camp Bisco electronic music festival. In July 2023, they embarked on their first West Coast tour in nearly 14 years.

Fabulous run!
by wjulias on 1/19/11Ogden Theatre - DenverRating: 5 out of 5This band is near and dear to my heart and the January Boulder-Denver run was no exception to their usual greatness! Thank you Biscuits for such a wonderful time and great people.
Absolutely Insane
by brcaveman on 1/3/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5The two sets were awesome they played for almost 4 hours and the laser lights were amazing. It was honestly one of the best concerts I have ever been to, up there with phish. Seeing them in a club-like venue was great and I was really able to watch the guys enjoy themselves jamming.
The Biscuits are hands down the best show
by Kahkahkahkelly on 1/1/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5Rainbow lasers, cool venue (except security is a little tight), awesome set! There is no show I've had more fun at all year than a biscuits show
Went to see Crystal Method, Fantastic!
by Shivasbindi on 12/31/10Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 1 out of 5Went to see Crystal Method, they are always Amazing! Stayed for 2 song from the Disco Bisquits, They had no energy and were a real drag. Don't know what all the hype was about this group.
The Disco Biscuits were fantabulous!!!
by Beezums on 12/31/10Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5Terminal 5 is by far my favorite venue and The Disco Biscuits brought on an absolutely fabulous evening ... thank them, thank you!!!

Holy Ghost! ruled
by marsmellow on 12/30/10Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5Great show on a cold, wet night . As expected, a great wall of psychedelic sound from the D.B.s after a dynamic dance-demanding performance by the opening act, Holy Ghost!
Not a 5 star show but i will explain
by Swampdonkey24 on 12/30/10Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5First I would like everyone to know that I went to both tuesdays and wednesdays shows and I a definately stll rolling from them...that being said..the only reason why this is not a 5 star show is because of the blizzard holding people out of the city the wed show was nuuuuts...twice as many people there and insane atmosphere...setlist was sweet both nights as any biscuits fan knows they never play a bad set...but I guess the only reason I don't give this show 5 stars is because the next night was so much crazier with the crowd. But I know people review this to determine weather or not to go who are new to an artist so I gave 5 stars so they would read this...HEY EVERYONE GO SEE THE BISCUITS ITS SO SICK
Great Biscuits show!
by Anonymous on 12/30/10Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5Thought that the show was great! Would liked to have seen them play in a bigger venue but still had a good time.
Biscuits in league of their own!!
by trturite on 12/30/10Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5Disco Biscuits are by far my favorite band....I'm not particularly concerned about what songs they play{mainly because I don't really know the name of the songs}...but none of that makes any difference.....they jam everything they play to the extreme....they know what a groove is and they work that groove to full potential. Monday 12/27 show at Terminal 5 was extraordinary....the whole show focused on the lead guitar player and he freakin tore it up.....people talk about Phish and how cool they are and how they can jam etc....Phish don't even compare to the Biscuits....nowadays Phish might as well phone in their performances anyway. If this was a competition the Disco Biscuits are UNMATCHED!!!!!
- by sjr325 on 12/29/10Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5
The setlist that they played with the featured light show artist completely blew me away. This was my time seeing them and I had no expectations. The only way I can describe the music is a perpetual groove that kept me dancing nearly the entire time.
BISCO!!
by brah on 10/31/10The Norva - NorfolkRating: 5 out of 5Show was ill! The Disco Biscuits are a must see band for anyone who likes to dance!

by PropellerMan on 4/26/10House of Blues Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5There's not much else to say except that PORNOFUNK is back and stronger then ever!!! The AC show was a ragethon! I'm not sure which show I liked better AC or NOHO?!? both were fantastic and most definitely the best shows of 2010 so far! If u havnt seenthe disco biscuits get on it ASAP!!!
Great show fantastic light show
by Legendary123 on 4/26/10F. M. Kirby Center - Wilkes-BarreRating: 5 out of 5I haven't been to a Biscuits show in years. 6-7 years ago I was really into them. I decided after listen to the On time EP that I would give them another go around. I was completely impressed. Well done. The light show was fantastic, the music was performed really well. There drummer is a machine! I will go to another show again. Thanks.

show was terrible, sound horrible as well as band playing sloppy
tDB FTW!
by GratefuldbE on 4/25/10F. M. Kirby Center - Wilkes-BarreRating: 4 out of 5The Disco Biscuits have a tight flow that really seems to penetrate into my psyche. The energy of "Mega Bisco" is definitely on, and I was left with a heightened sensitivity to the beauty of their material. Jon Gutwillig was sorely missed on guitar however. But his singing was wonderful, and I can not wait to continue raging with this band, on this journey through life! It feels like the vibrations associated to their music are leading up to something, and I am excited for the unfolding or blossoming of possibly the greatest love of all time- the depths to which their music can be felt. :)
Biscuits continue to rage
by Vernfro on 4/25/10House of Blues Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5On a scale of one to one-hundred I would give it a "what happened to my face?"
