Live on Broadway, the New York Times calls it "the best musical of the century." The Washington Post says, "It is the kind of evening that restores your faith in musicals." And Entertainment Weekly says, "Grade A: the funniest musical of all time." Jimmy Fallon of The Tonight Show calls it "Genius. Brilliant. Phenomenal." It's The Book of Mormon, the nine-time Tony Award®-winning Best Musical. See it on Broadway today!
Great show with a great cast! Laughed until it hurt!
Excellent show, great actors, loved the content it was hilarious!! Beautiful theater and excellent staff. Definitely a must in Broadway!
Hilarious plot. Funny lines. Wonderful harmonies. Stupendous solos!
The theater was clean & cozy. The play was hysterical!
Book of Mormon far exceeded my expectations. It was hilarious from start to finish. Falling out of my seat laughing!! The acting was top great. No complaints. So glad we picked this show while in NYC.
My husband didn’t know anything about The Book of Mormons and thought it would be a bore. Boy, was he wrong! We both thoroughly enjoyed it! So many laughs and worth every penny.
My partner and I traveled to NYC for the long weekend. While there we took in a number of shows. The Book of Mormon was fantastic. I knew from friends it was good, but we both found it so much more. Laughed throughout while watching the great actors. The songs and the dance numbers were some of the best I have seen. It was worth the cost of the tickets.
My girlfriend and I attended this play over the weekend. I had ben wanting to see it for some time and on a spur of the moment impulse, decided to purchase tickets. I have no regrets. The performance was very entertaining, humorous and fast-paced. The choreography was spectacular, the songs memorable, and the sets very believable. This is one of those theater performances that I would see again.
I have watched more than 10 musicals, some of them more than once, so I had fair expectations. The musical itself is shockingly rude. I guess it's so unusual for Americans to hear something so rude and open about the problems that everybody is aware of, but does not dare to talk about, plus it is touching on the topics of religion, underdeveloped countries, and this is where the whole humour part is evolving. But. Coming from a different continent, from Europe, where people are more relaxed about making fun about world problems, I did not see how it was fun in the musical? I barely smiled a couple of times. The music is great, the actors are great (no surprises here). I want to put a separate note about the theatre. Normally, even if you get not very expensive (not very close to the stage) tickets, you are able to see it very well, because of the way the seats are located (elevated rows, where the back row is always higher than the front row, plus each seat is located between the seats in row in front, so you don't end up seating directly behind someone, but in between two people). But not in Eugene O'Neill Theatre! We had quite expensive tickets ($ 300 for two) and sat in row R, but I could not see anything because of the person in front of me, who was tall! And because seats are not elevated, and not set in between two seats, but directly one behind another, it was a disaster. So if you have anyone tall seating in front of you - good luck watching the musical, it will be ruined.
Very clever story line and lots of great energy. Music good but not memorable. Some of the language a little insensitive and off-putting unnecessarily, since it really added nothing to the story line. All in all, entertaining and enjoyable.
The show was incredible. I did not stop laughing the entire time. I have had the soundtrack on repeat since the show.
Highly recommend but not for the faint of heart. Intimate theater hosting a cutting edge and very funny show with a talented cast. We laughed throughout the entire production. The bartenders were super personable.
Although this production has been on broadway for a while I wanted to see it but knew nothing about the plot, which I did on purpose. It was a politically incorrect, riot! As long as you take it as the comedy that it is, you will enjoy it. There’s an underlying message for everyone to take away. The music and singing was phenomenal, the drama to music ratio is just right. We brought a friend from overseas experiencing NY for the first time and she loved it. I would be remissed if I did not compliment the ushers, managers, and bar staff in NYC. They were wonderful and so accommodating.
My family and I really enjoyed the show. The songs were great and the cast did a good job.
Loved the show! Excellent fun and extremely raunchy - great fun!!!
Terrific performances punctuate this lighthearted (cautionary) comedy. I laughed from beginning to end, sometimes to the point of tears!!!! Make no mistake, if you can’t recognize and laugh at yourself, you won’t get it. I sat next to 2 of those, never cracked a smile....alas, so glad I don’t live in their world!!! I will see this again!!! ( and again!!) just to catch the nuances I missed the first time!!!
The show was pee your pants funny. My daughter was roaring with laughter. I couldn't stop laughing. I would definitely see this show again. After the show,we stood by the stage door and some of the cast came out to sign the playbill and take pictures.
The acting dancing and singing were terrific’. Loved the theme as well!
The Book of Mormon has done a good job keeping the plot under wraps and was pleasantly surprised by the story. The play was short and sweet, funny with a lot of fun songs and surprising set changes. A thoroughly entertaining experience. Good job to the cast and crew!
The show itself was wonderful, full of laughs, and a good time. The band was especially good. Most of the time, I forgot that musicians were playing the music live. The production team did a fine job as well. My complaints were with this theatre. Ramps to the seats were not horizontally level. The rows are close together. Curtains at the end of each row were pulled (maybe to minimize light penetration). Very claustrophobic feeling. The restroom facilities were too small. This theatre is in need of renovation!
