  • great comedy for adults

by Chitrader on 1/5/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

The whole play was incredibly funny. Definitely has some inappropriate language so make sure the crowd you go with is appropriate for that but the language adds to the comedy in my opinion.

  • Hilarious

by Celman on 1/5/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I was apprehensive as I'd heard I may be offended by this show....especially attending with three adult sons. I should know by now to judge for myself. This show was hilarious and enjoyed every moment of this laugh out loud show starring extremely gifted and talented actors. I look forward to seeing it again!

Hysterical, loved every minute from beginning to end. Talented cast of characters were fantastic!

  • Hysterical

The show was hysterical! We bought 2 partially blocked seats, but honestly there was only one scene that I had difficulty seeing and that didn't impact the show. If you are looking for a good laugh, definitely see this show!

  • Book of Mormon still the best production ever!

by Sheggs on 1/4/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I came to NYC to see The Book of Mormon in December 2011 because a friend had shared the soundtrack with me in Australia. I thought it was hilarious and I couldn't wait to see it after their Tony awards performance and success. This year I was travelling back to NYC for work, so couldn't pass up an opportunity to go again. I was a bit worried that since I had loved the original cast so much I would be disappointed (especially with Josh Gad no longer playing Elder Cunningham). But I was thrilled once again (even though for this performance he was played by the "stand-in", not even the understudy). He was still my favourite character. So long as you're not offended by this style of humour, I cannot recommend this show highly enough. Every element is perfect.

  • Very entertaining

    by tiac211 on 1/3/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

Catchy tunes. Very understandable. Great storyline. Pretty funny. Venue was great because even though I was in the 7th row, it was close enough to even see the expressions on the faces of the actors. To take the row in front of mine would have been a hundred dollars more so I'm happy where I'm at. Very recommended.

  • Unforgettable

    by Meesh13 on 1/3/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I took the advice of another reviewer to suspend any sensitivities or judgements before going into this musical, and BY GOSH was I glad I did. Sensational, unforgettable theater experience. The music will follow you around for days; you will find yourself singing "I Believe" and "Hasa Diga Eebowai" during quiet moments. I saw it for the first time on Gabe Gibb's Broadway debut as Elder Price - he CRUSHED it! The entire cast was amazing. Will definitely see it again.

This was an amazing musical. It truly is an atheist's love letter to religion. Very funny take on a very complex subject.

  • Not for everyone.

    by Bunnykins999 on 1/2/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 3 out of 5

I thought the play was well executed, good singing, dancing and choreography but it was very crude. There is nothing subtle about the humor and yes it was offensive. Not for everyone. I guess humor is all about the shock value now and this musical was no different. The booze is ridiculously expensive and u have to keep the 'sippy' cups!

Adult comedy. Great on stage talent and orchestra. Beautiful theatre. Not recommended if you can't take a joke or are close-minded; otherwise, you'll thoroughly enjoy. Enjoy!

  • The Book of Mormon was spectacular!

by Anonymous on 12/31/15Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

The show kept you on the edge of your seat for it's entirety. Being both funny and educational, I was enthralled from start to finish.

  • Book of Mormon

by Neuebeige on 12/29/15Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

Book of Mormon is smart, brutally satirical and extraordinarily funny. The humor owes to the popularity of South Park, whose writers created it. There are no holds barred. That being said it is a terrific exploration of questions of faith, and the positive consequences that can result from people organizing around a core goodness, regardless of doctrine.

  • It was HILARIOUS!!!

    by svn0831 on 12/27/15Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

We didn't expect that we are gonna like this musical, but we ended up LOVING it! It was funny from the start till the end of the show! Go see it!

  • Get yourself there!

    by JohnS2 on 12/26/15Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

We waited, but you shouldn't. One of the very best Broadway shows I've ever seen, of many years attending Broadway shows and musicals. Probably lost on under-13's. I'd recommend going for the center orchestra section. The story was hilarious and the singing was terrific. Sheer genius. No, it isn't Cats, Phantom or Lion King, but a cultural landmark.

  • Book of Mormon did not disappoint!

    by AudieHepMD11 on 12/24/15Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Just as engaging and entertaining as I had always heard. The theater is small so pick any seat in the house and you will get a great view.

  • The Book of Mormon

    by Emmm2 on 12/23/15Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 3 out of 5

The theater is small enough that even with being seated in seats all the way in the back row, you are still able to get a clear and pretty great view of the stage. I feel as if the play was talked up about a bit too much. I was expecting to be rolling around in my seat crying from laughter and even though it did have its truly funny moments... I was just expecting a bit more; especially for the price. I would recommend this play to others but only if they were able to purchase the cheapest ticket possible. The show is not worth paying $500 for in my opinion.

  • Book of Mormon was excellent!

    by RMcP123 on 12/23/15Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

A hilarious musical, with great songs and dancing and some very well written, brilliantly delivered, lines. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed it and would not hesitate to recommend it to a friend..... That said, some of the humor and language is extremely vulgar. I was not offended per se, but I could easily imagine others being offended- either by the langauge itself, the joking discussion of certain traditionally taboo subjects like female circumcision or the blatant stereotyping of Mormons and Africans. I can't help thinking the show would have been just as funny if some of the trademark "Parker and Stone designed to offend" content had been toned down a bit.
