  • I haven't seen the like of it before

    by ipj1965 on 1/13/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

And it had me laughing until it hurt in a couple of places !-) Great scenes, singing, dancing, costumes, and humor - those of a sensitive nature to coarse language, stereotyping, and/or rude exclamations to God should either be prepared to hear things you might not like, or avoid seeing the show.

  • The Book of Mormon was hilariously unforgettable!

by Sadiesuetoo on 1/13/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Outstanding show! The adult, cutting edge humor left us wanting more! Spot on performances, great music and fun, fun, fun!!!

The Book of Mormon was a very funny show that entertained and educated the audience at the same.

  • FUNNY!

by MIKEPfromNYC on 1/13/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

Very funny and highly entertaining show. I would not give it five stars but perhaps four and a half.

  • Unimpressed

    by SM908 on 1/13/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 1 out of 5

Prior to the show everyone said that I would LOVE the show Bc it's my type of humor etc. After the 1st act I thought about leaving. It was not funny. The big joke was "Africans have AIDS" and that some guy had maggots in his scrotum. Not to mention that 2 drinks at the bar were $50 For the price,it was a rip off all together.

  • Book of Mormon a must-see!

by Jerrzgrl on 1/12/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Can't pick one moment. Spectacular! Acting, singing, dancing were all phenomenal!

I don't know why it took me so long to see this fabulous production! Amazing talent, lots of laughs, perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

  • Crass, Crude and....

    by Raynbow63 on 1/12/16Eugene O'Neill Theatre - New York CityRating: 5 out of 5

embarrassingly very funny... but you have to like that kind of humor, that ohmygodIcantbelievetheyactuallysaidthat kind of humor. The cast was wonderful from the first doorbell ring. There are people I would recommend this to and people I would not. Eugene O'Neill Theatre is beautiful but small. The stage sets were perfect, loved Mormon Hell.

The show was funny enough and we loved the song and dance but there are some things so vile, beyond vulgar, that they should never be said: raping babies?!!!

  • The First Amendment Lives

by SomeoneFromNewHersey on 1/11/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Utter blasphemy. If I were a person to take myself too seriously, I'd be offended on behalf of Mormons, or any religious group for that matter.

  • Irreverently funny!

    by Pchick01 on 1/11/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I think we may be passengers on board the express train to hell , along with the writers, for enjoying the show as much as we did! If you were raised in an organized religion or have a strong faith in religion now, you may be grossly offended by the blasphemy, but the show is so funny perhaps it may just be worth it. We did take or 14 and 16-year-old children with us, which I would not recommend. The language is graphic at times as is some of the subject matter. The music was delightful though, and the performances were very enjoyable. We are about 10 days out from having seen the show, and still walking around singing some of the songs around our house.

  • Forgettable!

by Boboal on 1/9/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 1 out of 5

Crass, crude and embarrassingly not funny. Lots of talent wasted on a pointless not funny show. A waste of time!

  • Turn It Off

by NooNuu on 1/9/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 1 out of 5

I'm not a fan of musicals unless there is dancing involved but based on the subject matter I figured the humor would still come through. It didn't. I know South Park is a raw type of humor...a style which rarely makes me laugh but slightly giggle...so paying $200 for one ticket just wasn't worth the outcome. Ironically the part I found the most unique, fun, and funny was titled - Turn It Off.

  • Absolute genius.

by DoctorXY on 1/9/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I've been waiting for years to see this show and was still somehow not disappointed. Brilliant satire, catchy tunes (even in made up languages), and great comedic acting. NB: Not for young kids, or stupid people

  • Brilliant! Irreverent! Memorable!

by twintai on 1/8/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

Brilliant and excellent play. It was more irreverent than I was prepared for and think was merited; hence the 4 stars. But overall, great and would recommend it.

  • THE DUMBEST thing I've ever witnessed

by CSMagruder on 1/6/16Paramount Theater - SeattleRating: 1 out of 5

I guess if people think songs about raping babies and contracting AIDS is funny then this play is a riot. Literally walked out of this trainwreck.

  • If you can get past baby rape jokes...

    by Diana4883 on 1/6/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 1 out of 5

I will laugh at anything and was looking forward to this play. I understood who the writers were and that this was going to be very crude and inappropriate and was ok with that. What I didn't realize was that baby rape and female genital mutilation was going to be a running theme of this play. There were laugh out loud moments but when a character carries around a baby doll while the others try and convince him not to rape it, that was too much for me.

  • The Book of Mormon was awesome!

by careyfromct on 1/6/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

We saw a Sunday matinée and were blown away by a fantastic performance! The show is so well run and full of action -- there wasn't a dull moment. The performers were amazingly in sync and the singing was flawless. The Book of Mormon is truly hilarious. My face hurt from laughing so hard!

  • Laughed the whole show!

by IreneZuc on 1/6/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Hysterical, fun and a perfect date night with my hubby. Shocking at times but not offensive. Loved every minute. Cast was amazing. Extremely talented. The theater is the perfect size. Sat in orchestra but not a bad seat in the theater, as its intimate. Definitely recommend!
