  • Book of Mormon a HOOT!

by RnRLvr on 4/13/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Just never considered BOM would be my cup of tea, so when my adult son suggested we go, I was hesitant. Oh boy am I glad we did! Raucous, hilarious and oh so unconventional! An equal opportunity offender! Ha! Thicken up your skin and head out to see Book of Mormon... You'll be shocked, offended and be nursing your splitting sides from laughing SO hard!

With everything I heard and read about this play, I was prepared to laugh the evening away. I was a bit disappointed. It was just not my brand of humor. The actors and the mechanics of the show were great. Side splitting humor it was not, for me anyway. It is also important to note that the air conditioning was blowing directly on my forehead which, I'm sure, impacted my experience. I was uncomfortable for most of the show, wishing I had worn a baseball cap to shield my head and face from the cold air. Other people in my row experienced the same discomfort.

Hilarious. Socially relevant. A biting satire. Not for the faint of heart or prudish.

The Book of Mormon was very interesting, to say the least. The story of the work the Mormons do was enlightening, but the scenes of the work in Africa were hard to take and not funny. All of that talk about "raping" babies in the Africa segments was very uncomfortable and I didn't think it was germane to the story. Other than that, I had fun and some good laughs!

  • Hilarious

by OKinNYC on 4/12/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

A creative commentary on Mormonism, and all religion in general. Funny, well performed, good music and some surprisingly touching moments. Not suitable for the uptight conservative. Never a dull moment.

  • Book of Mormon is Superlative!

by Sitta on 4/12/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Absolutely loved Book of Mormon. I have been wanting to see this for a long time. Our seats were fantastic (Orchestra, Row J). This is not a play for the faint of heart. It is an equal opportunity offender of many issues. The writing is superb. Extremely funny and apprropo. The signing and dancing were great fun. I usually bore easily during the second act of a musical. Not with this play. My only regret is that I probably missed some of the jokes. I would not expect anything less from the creators of South Park. Satire at it's best. I was truly moved by the request for donations for AIDS at the end of the play. Hysterical and socially aware - a wonderful combination.

  • FUNNY

by WOEY on 4/12/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I guarantee you'll PEE in your pants from when the curtain goes up to the standing ovation. It's a MUST SEE SHOW.

  • Book of Mormon is totally forgettable

by Qualitytheaterlover on 4/11/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 1 out of 5

Sophomoric, immature. Made for the masses. Waste of money. Says something about the state of Broadway that this show won 9 Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

  • Amazing show!

by Cardioman on 4/11/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

We had a blast!! Each part of the conversation has a funny twist.

  • Utterly horrible.

by MsScarlet on 4/10/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 1 out of 5

Vulgar, hideous, not funny, leads could barely sing, very disappointing and did not live up to all the accolades it has gotten in the press. The "f" word was used so many times it lost its meaning. This show should be retired and replaced sooner than later.

  • Must See for South Park Fans

by Socrets on 4/10/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

I enjoyed the musical but I wasn't overly excited about it afterwards. The dance numbers were entertaining and the story was interesting. The humor was exactly what you would expect from the creators of South Park and the actors did a good job of performing. It's just that the humor so closely resembles the show that it sometimes comes off odd and that the kind of jokes work better on television than they do in real life. Still, it's funny and some of the earlier jokes are very well executed. I would recommend going to see it if you can.

  • Book of Mormon was gloriously funny!!!

by CherrysMud on 4/10/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

It was everything we hoped it would be and more. We haven't laughed so much in a long time. Thank you!!

  • Book of Mormon was dreadful

by Rufusone on 4/9/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 1 out of 5

The show was vulgar, crude, and only mildly funny. That it has received such popularity and wonderful reviews illustrates the decline of our morality, sense of decency, and just good taste.

It's a funny, heart warming, feel good musical with south park kind of jokes. I already want to ser it again!

  • Book of Mormon was fantastic!

Excellent show! Hysterical! I would definitely see it again.

  • Worth the price

by Nonpandering on 4/7/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

Excellent show and worth the effort to come to NYC. A great weekend away capped with this Broadway show. They really beat up on the Mormon religion like he may be a reformed Mormon, but the show did not touch the many wives that one may be allowed to have - strange. I will not see the door bell ringing quite the same way. Show was very well put together and great theater. Hated the pandering at the end - off putting. Paid enough for the tickets, leave me alone. Go See

  • Man Up! The Book Of Mormon surpassed the Hype!

    by Cass14888 on 4/6/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

It was amazing! Not family event if any are mega old, young and impressionable or just super uptight, but for the rest of us - YOU MUST GO! The person I took had never been to a Broadway show before and he is still watching replays on YouTube and singing songs three days later!! They have also got wonderful stage props and amazing voices and talented actors! All coming together to make a sensational, hilarious event!

  • what do you expect from the creator of South Park?

by AnniefromPhilly on 4/6/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 1 out of 5

Tunes catchy, book gross! I had even read up about the content so I don't know why I was so offended. Offended isn't the right word......just not amused. Cast very talented, group numbers with the "elders" great to watch but overall I didn't enjoy it

  • Book of Mormon makes a point!

    by Alfred43 on 4/5/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

The "Book of Mormon" play is an experience. Through the use of beautiful music, dancing, and extraordinary choreography, the play uses adult and graphic language at times, along with incisive wording, to enlighten its audience. None of us should think we have all the answers.

  • The best!! We laughed the whole time

    by Jaclyn784267 on 4/5/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

We had an amazing time, the dialogue was hilarious and the actors extremely talented.
