THE AMITY AFFLICTION IN CONCERT:
The Amity Affliction is a hardcore punk collective that’s taking their native Australia by storm with fast-paced music and intense live shows. Whether they’re tearing through the growl-filled track “Pittsburgh” or getting fans to mosh and sing along, the band delivers one energy-fueled performance after another for crowd-surfing fans.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
The Amity Affliction was formed by high school friends Ahren Stringer and Troy Brady in 2003. After playing concerts on campus, they started to take their music more seriously and added two more members – classmates Garth Buchanan and Lachlan Faulkner – to the lineup. The group embarked on a tour to support their 2005 debut EP and began to introduce their music to legions of fans around Australia. They spent the next few years honing their craft and in 2008 they released their full-length debut Severed Ties, which peaked at No. 6 on the Australian Artists Albums chart and launched major tours with the Getaway Plan and Elora Danan. Since then the Amity Affliction has released three more popular albums – including the chart-topping albums Chasing Ghosts (2012) and Let the Ocean Take Me (2014) – played major festivals like Warped Tour, and headlined several dates of their own, at venues like The Fillmore (Philadelphia). On tour the Amity Affliction continues to deliver gripping, revved-up live performances that no fan of punk will want to miss.
Best band in the scene period. Sound was amazing live. Amity!!!
The Amity Affliction was absolutely amazing to see live! Ahren is my favorite member of the band and his voice was so beautiful I almost cried when they came out on stage! Joel’s screams are absolutely immaculate! The whole show was awesome and I can’t wait until they tour the US again!!
I grew up in the ages of the interwebs where rawr was “ily,” in dinosaur, where pc4pc was still relavent, and where the height of emo rock all the merch had neon little monsters on them. Amity affliction was born in the chaos of this time. As elder warrior of this time and child of the y2k area, amity never disappoints. The lead vocalists are like sorcerers when it comes to crowd effect. They band itself is considered “old” and haven’t released as many records as some bands of that time, but the thing is they STILL TOUR, and having yielded all the way from New Zealand this makes them even more of a rarity. If your stuck in nostalgia or coming on board late to the amity experience, you won’t be disappointed ever.
The concert was amazing! All the bands were great ! But The Amity Affliction killed it & they were the best live band there! They sounded great & they were very energetic getting the crowd going nuts! It was amazing night
Really really good line up I would pay twice that to see them again! Especially Silverstein. 🤘
This band kills it every single time I see them! Any opportunity I get, I will continue to see them.
They are honestly amazing live. Never dissappoint and they always give a hell of a performance.
If you have a chance to see them, do it. This was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen
Had an amazing time. It was unfortunately very hot. I understand the more people the harder to keep the temp regulated. Overall. 10/10.
Such an awesome time, chill performance. Security were nice and the amenities were good.
Amity Affliction was great but it seemed that Silverstein played longer. Not my kinda band but still played way too long
I loved every moment of that show!!!! I love TAA and i wouldn't of have missed this show i got VIP they were the absolute best dudes
I didn’t actually make it, but being Amity Affliction I’m sure it was a bad ass show. Hopefully I catch them next time around.
We went to the venue an hour and 20 minutes after the doors opened. It was a very quick process and were inside the venue within 2 minutes. We went straight to the merch table and bought two signed copies of their album and two hoodies. The Encore night club was a good size and there was plenty of room to move around. We all weren't really shoulder to shoulder or packed like sardines. It was an all ages event which I wish our son (10 yrs old) would of came with us but he didn't want to travel and didn't want to go after all. We were able to get very close to the stage and stood next to the speaker. Got to listen to the whole set by Archetypes Collide which i have heard on Octane before. We gotta give them props because they sounded awesome and my son's father already added some songs from them to his Spotify playlist that night haha. Now 10pm comes and it's about to go down cause The Amity Affliction is about to grace us with their presence! After months (December 10, 2021) of waiting my dream is about to come true. Finally they take the stage and let me tell ya I was so freaking excited & happy to see them after listening to them for all these years!!! They are my very first concert that i have ever attended in my 33 years of life and wow werw they epic!!! I am so glad that my favorite band was my first concert ever!!! Joel sounds exactly the same as he does on every sound platform that i have listened to them on. Ahren's vocals were really good as well and even his growls and screams were on point as well. Joe's drumming, yesssss!!! My son's father and I already promised that when The Amity Affliction tour again we are going to attend two shows one in California and the other in Arizona. This was definitely an epic night for me and I am so grateful I got to see them live!!! TAA for life!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
The Amity Affliction is one of my top favorite bands and I was beyond excited to see them. The moment they came on stage and started singing I was very disappointed. They didn't really sound like they did in their songs, they made the crowd sing more than they actually did, and they just weren't the best entertainers. I was so sad at the end of the show because I had really been looking forward to seeing them and they just weren't at all what they were in their music.
I last saw them in 2015 at Self Help and was hyped to see them here! Needless to say, i was blown away. They came on and the only time i didnt havw a grin from ear to ear was when i was belting out words to their songs. Their live music is absolutely untouchable. Cant wait for the next one. TAA forever!
The Amity Affliction was absolutely great, they didn’t play all the songs we would’ve liked them to play but the setlist was awesome nonetheless. We did contract covid at the venue but I guess that was due to no working AC.
best concert hands down. i pretty much dont have a voice after last nights show!!!
The show was amazing. Even the openers put on a great show. The venue was 100° the entire time but the show still rocked.
This band is amazing live! I've been listening to them nonstop for the last 2+ years and I'd see them again in a heartbeat. I'd also never been to the Culture Room before which had a really cool intimate vibe with an outdoor area and multiple bars.
