  • Mandatory $25.00 per person

Food and a Drinks plus Mandatory 20% Service Charge and it isn’t a tip for your waitress that was on top of everything else. Rip off! And quite frankly Judy Collins and Stephan Stills weren’t as good as I saw at Coach House SJC...probably sound system better in SJC.

  • Stephen Stills, Judy Collins put on great show.

by fishwife on 5/20/18The Canyon Santa Clarita - Santa ClaritaRating: 4 out of 5

They've known each other more than 50 years, so it should be no surprise that Stephen Stills and Judy Collins perform so well on stage together. At the Canyon in Santa Clarita on Thursday, they opened with a great rendition of the Traveling Wilbury's "Handle With Care," and continued to show why they've both been popular for so long. A sad aside: Stills did a faithful job on Tom Petty's "I Won't Back Down," and it's painful to recall that Petty is no longer with us. Even in her late 70s, Collins still reaches every note in Joni Mitchell's 1960s classic, "Both Sides Now." Stills, pointing out it's unfortunate that his Buffalo Springfield song, "For What it's Worth," is once again topical, added that number to the mix. If the two are touring in your area, it's worth seeing them.

  • Stephen Stils/Judy Collins were great

Stephen Stills and Judy Collins put on a fantastic show. I loved the stories of their past.

  • Collins still has it, Stills not so much

by SocalDawg on 5/20/18The Canyon Santa Clarita - Santa ClaritaRating: 3 out of 5

Judy's voice was still pure as it was 50 years ago, but unfortunately Stephen's has all but lost his. Not sure if it was Stephen's voice or the sound crew completely botched the setup, I don't think it was the sound crew. Stills did get better as the show went on, but it was very difficult to hear him as his mic was seemed to be at a much lower volume than the others, not sure it that was intentional or not. When he spoke we were not able to understand the stories/comments because of the poor sound. Venue was good, except for the women behind us the were chirping the entire first half of the show (people are so rude). We're huge Stephen Stills fans, but this was a disappointment, I wouldn't do it again.

  • More Judy Less Stephen

by OldIGuess on 5/19/18The Canyon at The Rose - PasadenaRating: 2 out of 5

The instruments overpowered the voices except when Judy was singing alone. And when they sang together, he overpowered her terribly. Does this place not have a sound engineer? I realize she has an historical soft spot for him, but I will confine myself to concerts she does alone in the future.

  • Nice Retrospective in a nice venue

by RLStanton on 5/19/18The Canyon at The Rose - PasadenaRating: 4 out of 5

Judy and Steven brought us back to their days together in the time of Buffalo Springfield and Clouds. While their voices have matured, the band and music was good, and familiar. They had an opening act, and started late, but had a normal-sized set - not too short, and by no means did they play late into the evening, but we got a good show. It was our first trip to the Rose, and after reading so many negative reviews of the place, we approached with caution. Yes, they were disorganized, and yes, the food service was slow - but overall this was a unique venue and we would return. The food was good and portions large. The drinks were a tad pricy, but no more so than a dinner out. Based on out experience I’d say the Rose gets a bad rap most of the time. We’d go again.

  • Epic Show

by Taigs on 5/19/18The Canyon at The Rose - PasadenaRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first time at this venue. Great sound, nice people, and tasty veggie lasagna! Judy is nearly 80 and her voice sounds like she’s 20. Stephen has been a favorite since I was a kid and he still rocks!

  • Oh, this show was depressing...

by Mosaicqueen on 5/14/18Uptown Theatre Napa - NapaRating: 1 out of 5

I'm such a Steve Stills fan. I've seen him at least 6 times beginning in 1974, with CSNY, CSN, and as a solo act. The last time I saw him was about 5 years ago. HIs voice is shot. Just gone. But the last time I saw him he still had some chops as far as his guitar playing, and simply bringing it as far as a rock and roll show. That's gone. His singing with Judy Collins was very restrained, very diminished. I thought that perhaps he was saving himself for later in the show. Nope. When he sang (croaked) alone, I actually cringed a couple of times. His guitar playing didn't approach what he's done in the past. No soul, no sass, no lovely finger picking. I LOVED him, I still love the Stills I knew for 40+ years, but I have to say that the guy I saw the other night just pissed me off. He has no business touring any more. I'm so sad to even write this, but every one of us will reach the time when our contributions aren't all that useful...and believe me, he's there. Oh, and he and Judy Collins have the nerve to sell merchandise in the lobby. His manager is a scam artist. The venue is wonderful, though.

  • Mixed

by Unewsuzy on 5/13/18Uptown Theatre Napa - NapaRating: 3 out of 5

Steven Sills still is a good guitarist, but unfortunately he can not sign. The mix was much too loud to compensate. Judy Collins still has the most beautiful voice. Loved her old songs like Both Sides Now and her newer songs like Maria was haunting.

  • After all these years!

by Teezbeez on 5/13/18Uptown Theatre Napa - NapaRating: 5 out of 5

Stephen battling a cold. But no worries he can still play the hell out of a guitar. Judy Collins is simply stunning! Her voice never faltered. AND their band was phenomenal. As always the Uptown proved itself to be an all around amazing venue! So glad I went.

  • Great night out

    by Mike269 on 5/13/18Uptown Theatre Napa - NapaRating: 5 out of 5

Steven and Judy were fantastic together, Judy sang “Maria” with heart and compassion. Can’t wait until they come through again. Thanks for a great show.

  • Let JC go acoustic

    by JLAC1952 on 5/13/18Uptown Theatre Napa - NapaRating: 2 out of 5

I came to hear the legendary Judy Collins vocals. Crushed by a rock band.

  • Disappointing

    by Concert74890 on 5/13/18Uptown Theatre Napa - NapaRating: 2 out of 5

Judy Collins was amazing, Stephen Stills was way off his performance. Judy talked too much to use up time. The venue was good but the crowd was rude. Many arriving up to 45 minutes late disrupting the first act.

  • Pretty Awful wiht Lot's of Politics Thrown In

by LovedArt on 5/13/18Uptown Theatre Napa - NapaRating: 1 out of 5

Just as the title says. Stephen's voice is shot. Judy is pretty shrill....Anti-Trump jokes (why?), and then the real corker....Judy signing the "I am Maria the Illegal Alien and now they want to deport my child who cleans your house, blah blah blah...." Too bad, we were looking forward to this night.

  • Collins is Amazing!

by Macandprudence on 5/13/18Uptown Theatre Napa - NapaRating: 5 out of 5

Great show! Judy Collins still has a gorgeous voice. And she’s very entertaining! She shared stories about her interesting past, about her friendship with Stephen Stills, Leonard Cohen and how she came to sing Joni Mitchell ‘s Both Sides Now. She sang a new song she’d written a cappella named Maria about dreamers and immigrants that had the audience in tears. Stephen Stills rocks the guitar. He can’t really sing that well anymore, but can still deliver a good performance- and everyone knew all the words, so we sang along.

  • Collins and Sills in Santa Barbara

by PatandLeRoy on 10/31/17Arlington Theatre - Santa BarbaraRating: 2 out of 5

The concert was 1 hour late in getting started and there was no explanation given the restless audience. The opening act was very poor. Wish Collins had sung more solos.

  • Stills/Collins

by Arly on 10/31/17Arlington Theatre - Santa BarbaraRating: 5 out of 5

They are fantastic as single artists and were magical together. Their chemistry shines through with the love and respect they have for one another spanning over 50 years. It was wonderful to be able to share an evening with them

  • Unforgettable

by punloving on 10/31/17Arlington Theatre - Santa BarbaraRating: 5 out of 5

This was truly a special event for me -- as my concert companion said, it was almost like being with royalty for the evening. Steven Stills and Judy Collins are icons of a time in my life when music defined and wove itself into my everday life as a teenager. This show is their first time ever being on stage together. They sang a few of their old songs, covered some others, and sang some music from their duet album, "Everybody Knows." They talked about how they met and talked about their friends (Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Neil Diamond -- using their first names only). Of course, they closed with "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes." But the concert wasn't perfect: there were some flat notes sung. Stills talked as if his mouth was full of marbles. They told stories about people and songs that meandered around and didn't lead into those songs. It seemed liked they didn't have a professional helping them put on a cohesive show. But on the upside, it felt like we were all casually sitting around in their living room having an informal gathering, which was wonderful in its own way. And Judy's voice, almost all the time, still had that sublime, angelic sound. Unforgettable! But recommended only for those who know who these two are!

  • Show was a joy

    by GIGBSON337 on 10/31/17Arlington Theatre - Santa BarbaraRating: 4 out of 5

Judy Collins voice shows no sign of aging. A real treat to hear her. Takes you back a few years. At times brought me tears to my eyes. Mr. Stills is Mr. Stills. The premier songwriter. Player. A musicians, musician, but you always feel like his chip on his shoulder or attitude gets in the way. Still he is so good. Looked a little worn as far as health. Voice a little weathered. I was still in awe of his historic value to the music industry in so many roles. I would recommend the show for sure.

  • Great concert, disappointed with the crowd.

by GMarcus on 10/31/17Arlington Theatre - Santa BarbaraRating: 5 out of 5

I thought that Stephen Stills and Judy Collins were amazing! I was rather disappointed in the crowd though. The opening act was disrespected, with people talking and on their phones and checking out the Dodger game while he was playing, and collectively moaning when he said that he had time for two more songs, so he ended up leaving after just one more. I was just surprised at the reaction of a crowd of people that I thought were my piers.... similar age and level of respect. I guess I am just getting old, I went to hear and enjoy the music. And that I did!
