    Stephen Stills in Ann Arbor

by Judyfan on 3/7/10Michigan Theater - Ann Arbor

I have been a fan of Stephen (and CSN) for over 30 years... I know all his/their songs.. To be honest, I was not expecting too much greatness (I just saw CSN last summer), and I was right. I sill paid my $100+ for tickets.... My main disappointment came from the fact that Mr. Stills could not take five minutes after the show to say hi to the dozen of us who had hung around. About ten minutes after the show ended (without playing Love the One You're With,, which was on the set list, and of course no Judy).... Stephen came back out to the stage & completely ignored our polite requests for an autograph on the 35 year old album we brought.... That pretty much sealed any future desire I may have for seeing these guys in concert... Been there, done that, got disappointed each time lately... I still have my CDs...

    Good to see Stills!

by StillsFan on 3/7/10Michigan Theater - Ann Arbor

Voice - it was a rocky start, but his vocal chords loosened up and I must say it was much better than expected. Obviously, he can't sing like he used to, but I think the stories surrounding his vocal demise are a bit exaggerated. Setlist - Stills did three covers - Dylan, Rod Stewart, and Traffic. I would guess these songs will appear on the talked about CSN "covers" CD. They were good, but I would have preferred to have heard him do his own material. Stills was a fantastic writer and he has a wealth of material to draw from. Unlike a McCartney or Brian Wilson concert where you "hear it all", I think you walk away from Stills thinking you missed some songs. With the right set of songs, a Stills crowd should never be in their seats! Finally, I did not really time the concert, but it could have been a bit longer.

Stephen Stills still gets it and gives it!

by Altuna on 3/7/10Michigan Theater - Ann Arbor

Acoustic set followed by Stephen Stills guitar rifts that remain sweet to the ear. His wit and social commentary was consistent. He hurt his right finger doing 2 previous concerts and kept looking at it like it was going to fall off. Great place for a guitarist injury. We had fairly decent seats and it was wonderful being so close to this legend. Rock on Stephen!
