  • Stills got it!

Outstanding! The man can still rock the house. Some "Critics" rag on him in regards to his voice is "gone". B.S. ! He nailed every note. A little raspy at times, but hell, he a blues man. He took on Suite: Judy Blue Eye by himself!

Stills was awesome...masterful guitar playing, deep set list, very tight band. Makes me tempted to say "they don't make 'em like this anymore."

  • Better Before

by Mauidon on 11/25/11City National Grove of Anaheim - AnaheimRating: 3 out of 5

The show started out great with a acoustic set that was awesome but after the break Stephen came back and phoned it in for the electric set. Also it was almost the same set we saw 3 years ago at the House of Blues except then he killed it on the electric set and was much more focused.

  • Yeah, Stephen, you've still got it!

I was a great concert. It took me back and lunged me forward. Mr. Stills can still make that certain sound. It might be a little more difficult to do, but he still does it. He's funny too. I enjoyed his stories, but the best was the music. Its music that can fill a person up with the spirit of the sixties. "Love the One Your With", "Change Partners", but the words that stuck in my mind the most..."and we got to get ourselves back to the garden"; -ain't that the truth. Undescribable. I kept wanting to scream out "Where's Neil?!

pegi young was good , steven still seamed to struggle with his act, he had to take a 15 min break in the middle, and just seamed to lack any enthusiasm, i left feeling let down

  • Stills Still Doing It the Best

by Fraanko on 11/23/11The Regency Ballroom - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

Stephen Stills is underrated at number twenty-eight of all guitarists rated. He should be at number two in my opinion. He can flat out play the guitar. Right up there with James Marshall Hendrix and Eric Clapton! Stephen just picks the hell out of that Martin D-45, Sratocaster, Gibson 335 hollow body, hell, any guitar he picks up. Some say his voice is shot, but he's got a lot of miles on that vocal chord odometer and he can still carry it. But as far as the guitar, it's just more practice from here on. It just doesn't get any better. Those fingers can pick!

  • Stephen Still's performance was outstanding.

Sounded just like the record. Brought back memories.

  • by ikebeemer on 11/21/11The Regency Ballroom - San FranciscoRating: 4 out of 5

Stills still rocks, voice tonite sounds like it did when he made all the hits with Buffalo Springfield, CSN and CSNY. One of the best guitar players ever.

Stephen Still is a great performer. He's funny. He's a pretty rediculously great guitarist. His voice has changed a lot since the 60s and 70s, but he still knows how to belt out some great tunes. I enjoyed hearing his interpretation of the songs at this point using what tools he has available at this stage in life. Like watching a great band play great songs in a really big bar. Nice to see so many folks who've lived a while having so much fun.

  • Stephen's voice was in rare form

by ba877 on 11/20/11The Regency Ballroom - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

Pegi Young and her band were full of energy. They provided a good opening. Stephen Stills voice was incredible. He sounded so clear and on spot. I loved the part of the set where Stephen sang solo. I was jumping out of my skin with excitement. The Regency is great. It is intimate and Stephen was a rare treat to see in such a setting. Loved it.

  • Icon continues to rock the house.

by siegeld on 11/6/11Variety playhouse - AtLRating: 4 out of 5

Stills is still a crowd pleaser. Enough of the hits to keep the crowd very happy. Guitar tone is truly one of the best. The acoustic of Suite Judy Blue Eyes was ringing and powerful. The white falcon was warm and soothing, and the relic strats pushing through the vintage fender blues deluxe (I think) was totally orgasmic. I can't remember hearing something so sweet. And the volume was perfect. Not too loud, even five feet from the stage, but loud enough to just carry and lift you. Voice was not spot on. But give him a break, he has to be close to 70 and he did sound good on some songs, Very crowd friendly with lots of personal tidbits shared.

  • Stills In Rare Form!

by SouthernMaineStillsFan on 11/5/11State Theatre - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

Seeing Stephen Stills alone with his own band again was surely a Stills fan's delight! From his opener of "Bluebird" to his encore of "For What It's Worth" and throughout the show his performance was magnificent. Surprises like "So Begins The Task," "49 Bye-Byes" and a unique version of "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes" just kept coming, along with lots of stories, humor and connection with the audience. The effort and energy that he put into the show, both through his musicianship and vocals (which were particularly in fine shape) brought the audience to it's feet, and in particular to me his guitar work has rarely been in such fine form! If you missed this show or tour I'm very sorry because it was that of a true legend with many miles left to go in his career. Thanks Stephen (and for the autograph too)!

  • Voice graveled, talent unequaled

by iconoclast on 11/2/11Variety Playhouse - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Although it was sad to hear that sweet voice I heard at Woodstock has broken, Stills' musicianship is unequaled. He played some blues and his voice is perfect for this art form. If Stills would release a blues album I would buy it. He dissed Joni Mitchell at one point and I thought that was a personal low for him.

Stephen's show was great! Now about the venue, wish they would be more caring towards individuals in wheelchairs! The people that sale beverage's need to provide a service, use the ushers to help individuals in wheelchairs get to their seats without spilling their water or drinks all over the place...the Staff simiply does not care..when brought too the Staff's attention, No Help At All. Actually, other Ticket holders helped carry water or open drinks...Not The Staff! Variety Playhouse Please address this on going issue for people in wheelchairs! Super Dave

  • Stephen Stills was AMAZING!!!!

by winderga on 11/1/11Variety Playhouse - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Even Stephen was pleased with the show. Hit some notes he didn't expect to hit. I was standing dead center of the stage the sights were incredable but the sound was behind me. The closeness more than than made up for it. watching the guitar work was beyond words .

  • by donchas on 11/1/11Variety Playhouse - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

Started slow. Humorous but slow. Second half better. But just too 'relaxing' of a show.

  • Thanks

    by axl3 on 11/1/11Variety Playhouse - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Stephen, thanks for the entertainer you are. We felt your energy all the way to the end of the concert.

  • Great show terrible venue

by Sheglides on 11/1/11Variety Playhouse - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

Stephen is definely showing his age as far as his voice and stimina go but he still rocks and works the crowd I have seen him so many times over the years. Variety playhouse was a horrible location they have standing room in the front at the stage which means you still have to stand to see him even if you have seats. A lot of the seats were also broken. Don't think we will be going back there

  • by Anonymous on 11/1/11Variety Playhouse - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Bought tickets for my wife's birthday....she had a great birthday...maybe the best gift I have ever been able to come with. She stayed standing in front of the stage the whole performance.
