Judy Collins saved the night

Stills voice was shot, but anybody whose been paying attention already knew that about him. I dont know how they had the monitors set up for them but it seemed that he could not hear what Judy C was singing? Anyway, she then had to beat around the bush to try and match his off key warblings, I started to hope they would just turn his mike down. Collins, on the other hand, found her feet and as the show went on, sang so clear it was absolutely remarkable. By the end she was carrying the show, but in a very nice way. It was still cool to see and hear Stills play his different guitars, he never really rocked out but instead was selective in his playing, extending and bending notes, etc. This style matched the overall gist of the show, which was more folksy than rock. Stills' high point was his solo "treetop flyer". Collins played a 12 string all night, which was cool. She had several high points and songs. Together, I liked their rendition of Bluebird (Buffalo Springfield tune). The two of them engaged in some folksy banter, about the old days, including a reference to Joan Collins, so old-timer stuff for sure. Crowd was super respectful- you could hear a pin drop during the ballads. But they were too old and tired- few ever stood up at all, so not much energy from the crowd.
