  • Stills & Collins - Still Have IT

    by lfaz on 10/2/17F. M. Kirby Center - Wilkes-BarreRating: 5 out of 5

Excellent & beautiful show. Judy Collins still has a voice of an angel. Stephen plays one great guitar. Great - interesting stories. We loved the show!

  • Great concert, wonderful venue

    by LGeyer on 9/30/17F. M. Kirby Center - Wilkes-BarreRating: 5 out of 5

We love the Kirby center - reasonable prices and all seats are great! Stephen Stills and Judy Collins sound no different than they did decades ago! We loved that they did all the old favorites.

  • Stills and Collins were so good together

They were great. Did all my favorites. Encore was fabulous.

  • Judy Collins was great!

    by Nancy60609 on 9/30/17F. M. Kirby Center - Wilkes-BarreRating: 3 out of 5

The opening act was a snooze and it took quite a while for Stills and Collins to come onstage. The natives were getting restless. Stills was ok but Judy Collins still has an exceptional vocal quality.

  • Not Quite CSNY

    by PSHTrueReviewer on 9/30/17F. M. Kirby Center - Wilkes-BarreRating: 3 out of 5

Stills & Collins started Late. Their voices didn't blend well as a Duo! Separately they were better. Disappointed that Stills didn't perform "Love the One Your With." and "Sweet Judy Blue Eyes." Collins has a beautiful voice. I'll wait until CSN & sometimes Y appear collectively.

  • A TRULY GREAT SHOW

    by Philco5 on 9/30/17F. M. Kirby Center - Wilkes-BarreRating: 5 out of 5

I guess I would have had to sit in a stadium 40 years ago to hear these artists. Now it was a comfortable and intimate theater and they never sounded better. The sound system was good and their music just holds up. My wife and I considered this to be one of the best concerts we heard at the Kirby Center. Stills and Collins don't have to tour anymore but I'm just glad they do. Stills can really play a guitar. Wow.

  • The Best of the Best

    by CarsonCity04 on 9/14/17Montbleu - South Lake TahoeRating: 5 out of 5

I love the concert Judy was spot on with her vocals and Stephan was a great showman. I loved every minute of this concert. Only draw back was you could not use you cell to take pictures. So I have no pictures of the concert to post. :-( Stephan Stills told a story of how forgetful he was when he was younger and lost studio tapes he had made over several decades ago. They just recently showed up out of someone's garage at his door & is now a CD set. I bought it and it fantastic!

  • Stephen & Judy !st time Tour!

by ralphshaha on 9/13/17Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San DiegoRating: 4 out of 5

Last Wednesday I saw the tour of Stephen Stills & Judy Collins @ Humphrey's by the Bay. My first impression was that the vocals sounded a little off. After a few more selections I realized that Steven's vocals were off somewhat. It seemed that he was straining on many phrases. Judy's voice on the other hand I felt were right on the mark & it sounded pretty close to what it was in the past. I enjoyed her time for the concert more that the time with Stephen. His guitar playing stood out with some extended solo's that were done tastefully. The keyboard player was Judy's musical director for years & I felt was a major highlight of the concert. He was a seasoned player & knew exactly what to play @ the right time. The Bass player & Drummer were good, but did nothing special but kept good time. The opening act was good and his keyboard skills were excellent.

  • Stephen Stills/Judy Collins

by Tumbas on 9/11/17Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

Judy Collins was terrific - polished, elegant, professional, engaged. Stephen Stills was none of the above; he clearly was in it only for the money as he was sloppy, threw away a guitar pick late in the show and faked strumming his guitar, took frequent breaks for [???] and appeared to want to be just about anywhere else. I would be happy to see Judy Collins alone but Stills . . . save your money.

  • A mix of nostalgia and geriatrics

by AmyRenee18 on 9/10/17Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San DiegoRating: 3 out of 5

I was torn watching this show. Judy's voice is still crystal clear, although some of her high notes seemed a little precarious. Stephen, not so much, although some songs were great, like "For What It's Worth'. Judy sang some songs that I LOVE from my childhood, like 'Houses' and 'Who Knows Where the Time Goes'. Stephen's voice is shot and his speaking voice is garbled and hard to understand. They talked about 'those days' and that was fun hearing about. All in all, it made me want to turn the volume way up on the way home in the car and listen to that great stuff they recorded in the '70s.

  • Shockingly Bad

by Regularperson on 9/10/17Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

At least the warm up act was good. Stephen's voice is unfortunately gone. Judy still sounded good, but her catalog is obviously far smaller. I'm a huge CSNY fan, both individually and collectively, but this was just bad and short too. Humphrey's continues to be our very favorite place to see live music. It is an awesome venue.

  • Concert at Humphrey's

by SassySu on 9/9/17Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

Wonderful evening by the bay at Humphrey's. Brings back memories. Jon wanted to take me to see Stephen Stills as he had taken me 46 years ago on our first date to see him. We were just 17 & 18. The music was good, great memories, beautiful evening. Thanks for such a low key beautiful evening.

  • Past their Prime

by Corkyson on 9/9/17Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San DiegoRating: 2 out of 5

Went there to hear them sing their old songs and Humphrey's is a great place to watch concerts. However, these two old lovers are not a good concert duo and have lost their pitch singing. Sills played the guitar well, but Judy sang over him too much and they both spent too much time talking about their past relationship and politics. I paid good money to hear the old songs sung well and not what side of politics they imbibe. I left shortly after the intermission disappointed.

  • What a Night!

by SusanWhitmore9 on 9/9/17Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

I was instantly transported back to the delicious musical days of the 60's and 70's! Judy Collins' voice was as ethereal and crystal clear as ever and Stephen Stills sounded terrific and can still rip and tear on his guitar as well as ever! We were all reminded that the political and social commentary of that era is as relevant now as it was then. All in all, it was a fantastic and magical evening that ended much too soon. I hope that the two of them will reprise this concert again next year! I'll definitely be there, if they do!

  • very good concert

by vivadeb on 9/9/17Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San DiegoRating: 4 out of 5

We really enjoyed the venue. It was our first time there. Our only issue was that when they "talked", we couldn't hear all of the words. We heard the singing parts great, but missed most of the "stories". We were in section G, perhaps we were too far away? Judy Collins voice is so pure and still so strong, it was a real pleasure to listen to her. Stephen Stills no longer has the voice he used to, but he was personable and enjoyable to hear.

  • Stills and Collins were awesome!

by Pjnme on 9/9/17Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San DiegoRating: 4 out of 5

Being a teen in the 60's, Stills and Collins brought back a flood of great memories and music. Fun to learn more of their history. Stills voice is a little gruff, Collins' is like an angel's. Would love to hear more from Stills, like Southern Cross. Seeing them again at Coach House in Oct!

  • Excellent from start to finish

by starphynix on 9/9/17Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

This was a very enjoyable evening. They work very well together and the mutual respect is obvious. Her voice still wonderful, and the band very talented. I highly recommend this show if they come to your area.

  • Give it up, Stephen

by BirdieDriveNative on 9/9/17Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San DiegoRating: 4 out of 5

As much as I love Stephen Stills, it's time to step down. His long time hearing loss has affected his performance to the degree that it is painful to listen to him. With CSN he could blend in, but solo and duets with Judy were often off key. Judy was delightful, beautiful, and her voice is still amazing.

  • They're getting old

by Baygull on 9/9/17Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San DiegoRating: 3 out of 5

Judy Collins still has a good voice Stephen stills did not. I would have liked more of their old songs and fewer new ones.

  • An Evening Like No Other

by KD33 on 9/9/17Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San DiegoRating: 4 out of 5

This magical evening with Stephen Stills and Judy Collins was a strange brew of exuberant nostalgia and delightful musicality. Nobody sings like Judy Collins. Her reditions of classic orginals like Suzanne, Both Sides Now and Chelsea Morning were as uplifting as the stories about Leonard Cohen she shared introducing them. And nobody plays or sings like Stephen Stills. Stephen's journey through four decades of lifetime memory hits created with Buffalo Springfield, CSN and on his own was a walk through my own life. Playing together, sharing the joys and challenges of their friendship over the years, striking harmonies to Suite Judy Blue Eyes, produced a blend of music the defies categorization. It may not have been the raspy, harmonic Stephen Stills or melodic Judy Collins voices of old, but there was a specialness to this evening I will always remember and cherish. Gratitude to Judy and Stephen for this bold venture.
