  • Almost perfect

by Mel on 12/26/23Raising Canes River Center Arena - Baton RougeRating: 4 out of 5

Ice skating is a yearly tradition and we love it. The one thing I love wish they could improve is the process of getting skates. We spent over 30mins in line for skates which takes away almost all of the actual skating time.

  • the skating shoes always hurt kids foot ankle

    by Q.L on 8/9/23Rating: 1 out of 5

right size shoes but both of my kids said hurt their ankles , my daughter even had the bleeding from her ankle after skating, the skin is peeled. 75mins session they really only skated not over 20mins because their foot hurt so much.

  • Fun for the kids or a date

by Aaron on 8/8/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Had a great time ice skating, the ice skates were not the greatest but since they were included in the price of the ticket they were fine. Great time for kids, family, or a date.

  • A cool summer activity!

by Kate on 8/8/23Rating: 5 out of 5

We love to ice skate any time it is available at the River Center, but the summer skating is our favorite! It is a unique activity that allows us to be active and out of the summer heat :)

  • Cut backs and Safety

by Tradition on 1/7/23Raising Canes River Center Arena - Baton RougeRating: 4 out of 5

Wish they would bring back the popcorn and drink in price of admission. Tickets up and services down. Also a section for the little kids separate from general population.

  • So much fun!

by HW on 1/5/23Raising Canes River Center Arena - Baton RougeRating: 4 out of 5

It was all great other than us not being able to take phones on the ice to take videos or pictures! Id like to be able to have the memories

  • Ice Skating

by Theresa SP on 1/3/23Raising Canes River Center Arena - Baton RougeRating: 3 out of 5

Ice skating was awesome! However, concessions was over the top. A 16oz bottle of coke with no cup or ice was $6.60 this was a bit ridiculous.

  • So much fun!

by Jessica D on 1/2/23Raising Canes River Center Arena - Baton RougeRating: 5 out of 5

Had a great time with the kids! We had a lot of fun. I wish we had this option more often during the year, or for a few months at least. I really like that they had a limited amount of people and the times were set so the ice wasn’t too crowded.

  • dull skates.

by Christy on 12/31/22Raising Canes River Center Arena - Baton RougeRating: 1 out of 5

The rental skates that they offer are dull. And not many of the sizes lace up. The hard plastic boot makes them uncomfortable, with too much wiggle room. But they are terribly dull. We went for the 8PM skate, and the ice rink really needed to have the Zamboni used between skates.

  • Skating on ice

Ice skating was so much fun. It was very organized and kid friendly. I would recommend

  • Ice skating fun w/grumpy staff

by YourMom on 12/30/22Raising Canes River Center Arena - Baton RougeRating: 3 out of 5

We took our teenage kids ice skating. There were several staff members who seemed very agitated, fussed at all of the kids constantly and even snapped at the grownups for standing in the wrong place. The kids had fun skating but the staff could have had better attitudes. Also it would be nice if they would let us in the doors closer to St Louis street since we all have to park in the garages over there. Also better for safety purposes instead of getting mugged walking a mile around the outside of the center to get to the other entrance.

  • Bad

by NoEne on 12/30/22Raising Canes River Center Arena - Baton RougeRating: 1 out of 5

Too crowded, NO EMERGENCY STAFF, one of the kid hit hurt( her fingers run over by another skater, bleeding ) and staff are no where to be found.

  • Ice Skate blah adventure

by J on 12/30/22Raising Canes River Center Arena - Baton RougeRating: 3 out of 5

I feel like it could be better organized on the process of getting in, grabbing your skates and preparing. If you haven't been before you don't know the process. Also a limited amount of seats to change in and people just sitting on other people's shoes. Also I've been many times and this once the ice was in rough condition to say it had just been prepared.

  • Crowded

by SNA on 12/29/22Raising Canes River Center Arena - Baton RougeRating: 4 out of 5

Super crowded, why wouldn’t they open more space for people to stand at the wall and watch or more chairs??

It was awesome! Our first time & we really enjoyed it.

  • Ok

Great for basic ice skating. I wish it had been decorated for the holiday season though. Hand sanitizer stations need refilling.

  • Ice Marching

by Tiff on 12/23/22Raising Canes River Center Arena - Baton RougeRating: 5 out of 5

This was our first time ice skating. We did read a little of “what not to do” before attempting to skate. We wore thick socks and I brought my shoe inserts for arch support. I also had on SUPPORT stockings that help with leg circulation as I have POTS. First time around was rough. A lady came by letting us know what we were doing wrong. She said to March till you get your balance. She mentioned not to skate like you would with roller skates. Bend knees and glide on ice while you use arms to help balance. The second time around was smoother and we felt more confident. I feel like we needed more time. 75 mins wasn’t enough time for beginners. Should be more like 2 hours for the 20.00 we paid. Overall, we had a lovely time.

  • Ok

by CAD on 12/23/22Raising Canes River Center Arena - Baton RougeRating: 2 out of 5

We all had to change sizes twice. We were told by a hockey player they should have been giving us 2 sizes down instead of just 1. The skates were also in terrible shape. One pair was ducted taped. The laced pairs were impossibly to get right. I wish they'd invest in some newer, getter skates. It was frustrating losing token switching out sizes for 3 kids
