Shin Lim on Tour
Catching Shin Lim in the act is unlike watching any other magician perform. Instead of making people disappear or sawing them in half, he simply concentrates on card tricks. But he raises the level of his sleight of hand with a deck of cards to a fine art.
There's drama, music, and a kind of a ballet to Lim's magic. And he's known for performing his illusions without uttering a word, letting his hands and his cards do all the talking while his carefully curated music — Lim started out as a musician — tickles the audience's ears. If you've seen him in one of his many television appearances, be it Penn & Teller: Fool Us, America's Got Talent, or Jimmy Kimmel Live, then you've experienced only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to a Shin Lim live performance.
Shin Lim Background
Born in Vancouver to Singaporean parents and raised in Massachusetts, Shin Lim had two passions in his youth: music and magic. He was studying music in college when he learned that he was suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome. This discovery caused him to abandon playing the piano in favor of becoming a professional magician.
He got one of his first big breaks when he was given the chance to tour in China. Since he didn't speak the language, he kept silent during his tricks, and that practice became a signature of his shows. Bringing a bold, unprecedented artistry to the realm of card tricks, Lim really began to hit it big when he worked his magic on TV's Penn & Teller: Fool Us in 2015. The performance became a social media sensation that elevated his profile dramatically. Since then, he's frequently appeared on TV, twice becoming a winner on America's Got Talent. And he tours widely, taking his illusions everywhere from Las Vegas to Broadway.
The was very good. Well orchestrated and very interesting. I recommend the show for any of my friends who enjoy slite of hand magic.
Would have like more of Shin Lim. I paid to see him and not the other performers mixed in.
We truly enjoyed the show especially when they were involving the audience. Enjoyed his tricks and magic. Everyone should see it.
Shin Lim is one of the greatest magician in the world. His show is so captivating you are on the edge of your seat wondering what is happening next. He tells his story of how he became a magician and how slight of hand is very difficult to do. He makes it look so effortless. He says You are Limitless...means you can do what you set your mind to. Overall go see it! Can't wait to see it again!
Shin was amazing. Every magic act performed was connected to his life experiences and how it matters to lift yourself up from adversity and still shine. My family enjoyed the show.
This show was AMAZING!!! We loved it! Shin Lim’s Limitless tells and encouraging story and dazzles with his captivating slight of hand magic tricks!
Fantastic evening, full of surprises, including two great guest appearances! Family-friendly night out, would highly recommend.
What a great show. He’s so good - magic and stage presence. Highly recommend.
Shin Lim was great very interactive show brings multiple people on stage for tricks and has tricks for whole audience to participate in will be back again
Shin Lim holds your attention from his beginning magic! He involves his audience and and humor plus unbelievable magic! I will never comprehend how he does the tricks and that's OK! I highly recommend seeing his show. We have loved him since AGT and he did not disappoint!! We couldn't wait to see him and let in awe! The Plazzo is a fabulous theater. Comfortable seating, sound and lights.
When I saw this young man on AGT I knew he would go far in life, indeed he did. What an amazing show, loved it, a must see when in Vegas!
Shin Lin is a very talented magician; however, we did not care for the format of his show. Shin Lin's theme was his personal journey with magic competitions, overcoming injuries, and finding a wife. We felt this theme was a bit immature and boorish. Although his journey is interesting, the show spends an inordinate amount of time explaining the details when more magic would have better served the audience. Some of his card tricks were great, but others revealed glitches in camera tricks, overly dramatic reveals, and audience participation efforts that were unnecessarily elongated. I left the show wondering if I should have bought tickets for Penn and Teller instead.
Second time we have seen Shin in person. This new show and format was AMAZING. (and the first one was great). Very versatile and personal with the crowd! Keep it up Shin!!
The Shin Lim Show was fantastic, outstanding and better than I could have imagined. There was magic, humor, drama, surprises, and audience participation. We loved it and would see it again if we get back to Vegas.
The show was interactive and fun! Audience participation created some humor, and the first major trick with the whole audience was incredibly impressive. I really don’t know how he did it. Shin Lim is soft spoken but weaves a narrative that is easy to follow. You essentially share in his magician journey while experiencing his magic along the way. A few additional guest appearances and the show was fulfilling and exciting. Highly recommend!
It is a great magic show, I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes Penn and Teller or David Copperfield. He did a great job, and has a talented supporting cast too
We came to the show just to see The Clairvoyants, and they didn’t dissapoint! Would love to see more of them. Overall, great value and nice to be there
Very entertaining, mesmerizing, goose bumps. Highly recommended
We had a Wonderful time. Would recommend to anyone
This show was entertaining, captivating, and even inspiring. This was our one "big ticket"outing while in Vegas and I am so glad this is what we chose.
