Shin Lim on Tour

Catching Shin Lim in the act is unlike watching any other magician perform. Instead of making people disappear or sawing them in half, he simply concentrates on card tricks. But he raises the level of his sleight of hand with a deck of cards to a fine art.

There's drama, music, and a kind of a ballet to Lim's magic. And he's known for performing his illusions without uttering a word, letting his hands and his cards do all the talking while his carefully curated music — Lim started out as a musician — tickles the audience's ears. If you've seen him in one of his many television appearances, be it Penn & Teller: Fool Us, America's Got Talent, or Jimmy Kimmel Live, then you've experienced only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to a Shin Lim live performance.

Shin Lim Background

Born in Vancouver to Singaporean parents and raised in Massachusetts, Shin Lim had two passions in his youth: music and magic. He was studying music in college when he learned that he was suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome. This discovery caused him to abandon playing the piano in favor of becoming a professional magician.

He got one of his first big breaks when he was given the chance to tour in China. Since he didn't speak the language, he kept silent during his tricks, and that practice became a signature of his shows. Bringing a bold, unprecedented artistry to the realm of card tricks, Lim really began to hit it big when he worked his magic on TV's Penn & Teller: Fool Us in 2015. The performance became a social media sensation that elevated his profile dramatically. Since then, he's frequently appeared on TV, twice becoming a winner on America's Got Talent. And he tours widely, taking his illusions everywhere from Las Vegas to Broadway.

As other reviewers have mentioned, seatings doesn’t really matter cuz most of the acts are shown in a big screen anyway since he does lots of card tricks. Its something do to with kids in vegas. My kids thought it was cool

The show was amazing, I was in the fourth row and the seats were good. He is unbelievable how he manipulates cards. The final trick blew everyone's minds.

The show was fun. It would have been nice for the show to have more magic than spectacle but I enjoyed going. The narrator was the best part because he did magic and comedy as the show advertised. Shin’s skills are phenomenal and exciting. Would have loved to see more of it.

  • Solid, entertaining show

Shim Lim show was very entertaining. No clue as to how he does what he does but it is amazing. I recognized the guy who played the role of emcee through AGT (sorry don’t know name) but his role & magic was also very good.

Took my mother, brother and 6-year-old son to see the show. ALL were very impressed. It was family friendly and encouraging content about overcoming hardships and being rewarded through hard work. All was very well done and the performers and magic were absolutely incredible. Would want to see again!

  • Stunning performance!

by Dutchess T on 12/30/24Palazzo Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Amazing show! Without spoiling the show, it was magical from the beginning to the end! I wasn’t expecting much walking in because I bought the tickets for my son who wanted to see it. I was thinking card show can’t be as good as other magic shows but Shin Lim did not disappoint! He was truly an amazing and talented person! I’ve already recommended this show to all my friends. The only tip I have is to buy the tickets early so you can get closer seats and be selected to participate in the show. Mine was center middle and was able to see everything.

  • Fantastic

I saw so many magic shows
this was unique and all new. A Master of what he is doing. He can do things, no other can do.

  • Fantastic Show & Great Venue

by RF973 on 12/26/24Palazzo Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

My wife and I really enjoyed seeing Shin Lim. We were a fan of his for a while, but this was the first time seeing him in person, and he did not disappoint. He really got the crowd involved. Our seats were comfortable and in a great location. We would definitely go to this venue again to see a show.

  • Only ok, put me to sleep

by Ascottwi on 12/25/24Palazzo Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las VegasRating: 3 out of 5

Card tricks don’t translate well to a theater. It is impossible to really see the action without looking at the big screen even from 8th row. Psychic was better, but overall the show was a disappointment and I cannot recommend it. Acrobatic act by his wife felt like a strange interlude and not the magic show we paid for.

  • Not quite Limitless

by Yves on 12/25/24Rating: 3 out of 5

I was stoked to watch this show
The opening act was brilliant! Shin is certainly talented and his magic is very entertaining. What I did not like is the amount of story telling and I get, but I feel that it slows down the show and I often fine myself drifting. The most disappointing is that we paid VIP which included the meet & greet, but at the end of the show - we were told there isn’t going to be one without an explanation. Overall, I give this show a 3* just because my wife did enjoy it more than I did; wished - ushers informed us of now meet & greet before the show started.

  • Fantastic show!
