Shin Lim on Tour
Catching Shin Lim in the act is unlike watching any other magician perform. Instead of making people disappear or sawing them in half, he simply concentrates on card tricks. But he raises the level of his sleight of hand with a deck of cards to a fine art.
There's drama, music, and a kind of a ballet to Lim's magic. And he's known for performing his illusions without uttering a word, letting his hands and his cards do all the talking while his carefully curated music — Lim started out as a musician — tickles the audience's ears. If you've seen him in one of his many television appearances, be it Penn & Teller: Fool Us, America's Got Talent, or Jimmy Kimmel Live, then you've experienced only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to a Shin Lim live performance.
Shin Lim Background
Born in Vancouver to Singaporean parents and raised in Massachusetts, Shin Lim had two passions in his youth: music and magic. He was studying music in college when he learned that he was suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome. This discovery caused him to abandon playing the piano in favor of becoming a professional magician.
He got one of his first big breaks when he was given the chance to tour in China. Since he didn't speak the language, he kept silent during his tricks, and that practice became a signature of his shows. Bringing a bold, unprecedented artistry to the realm of card tricks, Lim really began to hit it big when he worked his magic on TV's Penn & Teller: Fool Us in 2015. The performance became a social media sensation that elevated his profile dramatically. Since then, he's frequently appeared on TV, twice becoming a winner on America's Got Talent. And he tours widely, taking his illusions everywhere from Las Vegas to Broadway.
Fantastic! He is truly a master at his craft. I would see him again.
Shin Lim was a wonderful show to see in Las Vegas. We had seen him on America's Got Talent and wanted to see him live. The magic was pretty mind-blowing at times. We didn't really care for the singer they had as part of the show and it could have been more engaging, as sometimes Shin's overall performance seemed mellow, but the magic was AMAZING and we left mind-blown on many of the tricks. The show has a second magician that's comedic and that was fun, too. Overall, we really enjoyed the show, would recommend it to others, and would see him again!
Stumped and amazed at the expertise in his performance. Outstanding stage presence. Can't wait to see again.
Super entertaining. We went to several shows in Vegas and this was among the top 3.
Shin Lim is very outstanding and is a amazing illusionist. Love his show ❤️
Shin Lim was totally awesome. Time absolutely flew because I couldn't take my eyes off him. Stage presence was awesome. He knew how to engage the audience. His master of ceremonies was awesome too. Well worth every penny.
Shin Lim is AMAZING! (and adorable!) The show was very entertaining & well-done. Not only is he masterful at sleight of hand, he is also funny & warm. It was just FABULOUSLY entertaining!!
We were familiar with Shin Lim's act, so we were looking forward to seeing it in person. We were thrilled that it was spectacular, much more than we had expected! His personality added so much to the show. We would recommend it to anyone!
A show that concentrates on the sleight of hands. No explosions, no fire stunts, just the fascination of Shin Lims excellency.
Talent with cards. Our group enjoyed the show and the bonus fun mind reader performer who I forgot the name. I'd highly recommend it. Just a feedback of changing to a less paper waste for the audiences. Thank you for a very nice show.
The Shin Lim performance is really exciting, the right mix of magic and illusionism with a beautiful story told.
This show was really good for what it was. There were some boring parts.
Very entertaining! He's amazing and we would definitely recommend the show!
It was ok, it was not I expected I fell asleep. 😴
We went to Las Vegas to see a Kelly Clarkson concert and celebrate my daughter's 21st birthday. That concert was cancelled, so we decided to see Shin Lim on that Friday night. My daughter (who had never seen any similar type of performance before) loved the show, and I really enjoyed it as well. We liked the variation of the "tricks"performed and enjoyed the inclusion of The Mentalist.
This show is really good. Shin Lim is excellent at slight of hand and telling his story to match the magic made the show even better. The other performers of the show were very good as well. He kept the audience engaged for 90 minutes and left me wondering how some of the tricks could have possibly been done. Worth seeing if you are in Vegas.
I had great hopes after reading the reviews of this show. Even splurged for up front tickets. I went with 2 friends, one fell asleep. None of us were impressed.
This show was INCREDIBLE Shin is such an extraordinary slight of hand magician! It's crazy what he's able to do and trick our minds to see! I love how intimate this venue is. I HIGHLY recommend this show!
Incredible show from the beginning to the end! The artistry and visual effects were stunning. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed Limitless at the Palazzo. Shim Lin is a one of a kind magician! We also loved his guest performer who is a mentalist. Highly recommend this show for the young and young at heart. It is a must see when visiting Las Vegas! I truly believe it is one of the BEST shows!
great seats; large screens show the close up sleight of hand magic done by Shin Lim. The narrator was also a mind trick performer and did well except for one area (but that was my opinion). Would hightly reccommend seeing the show if you enjoy close up magic.
