Shin Lim on Tour
Catching Shin Lim in the act is unlike watching any other magician perform. Instead of making people disappear or sawing them in half, he simply concentrates on card tricks. But he raises the level of his sleight of hand with a deck of cards to a fine art.
There's drama, music, and a kind of a ballet to Lim's magic. And he's known for performing his illusions without uttering a word, letting his hands and his cards do all the talking while his carefully curated music — Lim started out as a musician — tickles the audience's ears. If you've seen him in one of his many television appearances, be it Penn & Teller: Fool Us, America's Got Talent, or Jimmy Kimmel Live, then you've experienced only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to a Shin Lim live performance.
Shin Lim Background
Born in Vancouver to Singaporean parents and raised in Massachusetts, Shin Lim had two passions in his youth: music and magic. He was studying music in college when he learned that he was suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome. This discovery caused him to abandon playing the piano in favor of becoming a professional magician.
He got one of his first big breaks when he was given the chance to tour in China. Since he didn't speak the language, he kept silent during his tricks, and that practice became a signature of his shows. Bringing a bold, unprecedented artistry to the realm of card tricks, Lim really began to hit it big when he worked his magic on TV's Penn & Teller: Fool Us in 2015. The performance became a social media sensation that elevated his profile dramatically. Since then, he's frequently appeared on TV, twice becoming a winner on America's Got Talent. And he tours widely, taking his illusions everywhere from Las Vegas to Broadway.

Overall, the show was very entertaining and left us wondering how some of the tricks were done. Shin Lim had a narrator who is also a mentalist by training - and he added a lot to the show. The story he was telling was interesting - but if I have any criticism - left the whole show a LITTLE bit too scripted. But I'd still highly recommend that people see him in person! Did some very good, interactive stuff with the audience.
I couldn't believe the way handled the cards. He was just amazing with all that he did. Great show, highly recommend seeing this show
He is amazing. I watched him closely but never could see how he did his magic. He wowed me!! Can't wait to see him again!!
It was a good show, wish I saw more of, but 6 girls thought they were special and stood in front of me for the whole show.
The show was ok, but just that. Having seen most tricks on AGT, it was good that there were 2 other acts to lighten up the evening. To me it is difficult to be entertained by close up card tricks, because there were mostly cameras involved, which transferred the whole thing on big screens. The mind reader was a good break, as was the act by Shin‘s wife Casey.
It was really about expectations, every single act was amazing and a lot of questions to be figure out. Very interactive and entertaining. Recommend it 100%.
Shin Lims show was great! What a terrific, magician, and close card expert. I couldn’t believe my eyes.!
We thoroughly enjoyed Shin Lim! Both his story and his talent are remarkable. Be prepared to be astonished! Great show!
I have seen many magic, card trick shows in the past but this one takes the cake as the most mind boggling, scratch your head show I have ever seen. Couple that with a very entertaining magician who personally connects with you, the audience, and you get a show that is a MUST see. You will leave thoroughly amazed at how he can perform these tricks and his sleight of hand is beyond amazing. His personal story only adds to the amazement of his act and one then realizes what a rising star he will become...see him while you can.

Shin Lim is a spectacular performer and the show has tons of surprises. Vegas is not always the best for families but this show is 100% family safe and very fun. Lots of audience participation and a great fun here!
Good show but for my taste a little too dramatic oratory and you can tell he is still working on his delivery. I was able to see a fair amount of the off hand retrieving props. But all in all worth seeing. Some amazing tricks (illusions). The Mentalist was also entertaining and his delivery was more polished and comfortable. Lim will become more polished in his oral presentation and slight of had as he matures.
The show was too… hard to hear Shin’s voice Hirt voice. Most of the tricks were great. The narrator, Petor Antoniou was fine… first trick guessing what objects was in purses was goofy and definitely wired through to him. The serial number on the dollar bill as well… an easy switch from his hand into the jar. Only okay. The test of the show was pretty good.
Shin lim is the best, i will be back to watch again 👍
The tricks were great but the story was kinda boring. Loved the singer and the mind reader.
Really stunning show!! I recommend for all ages!! Good mix of tricks!
My son (14) and I were super impressed with the show. It was fun and entertaining and unexpected. I would definitely recommend this show to someone visiting Vegas.
Enjoyable show. Good value for the cost. Shin Lim is a master at sleight of hand magic.
Amazing show! We came from NY to see it. The storyteller was very funny. Shins magic was incredible, as expected. His wife performed a beautiful act that was very enjoyable. We had no idea Mackenzie Sol would be joining the show. Not sure if it’s a surprise or a regular thing so hate to spoil it if it is but me & my daughter freaked out when we saw him! We got vip tickets so we got to meet Shin but no sign of Mackenzie, so we were a little disappointed. Overall though it was an incredible show would definitely go again!
