Shen Yun Performing Arts is a triumph of collaboration, bringing together over a hundred of the world's foremost classically trained Chinese dancers, choreographers, musicians, and vocalists. It also boasts the world's only full orchestra that embraces both Western and Chinese instruments as its permanent members.
Based in New York, Shen Yun Performing Arts is distinguished by its conscious effort to remain independent of China's communist regime, which has abused and impoverished the arts for decades. It is proud to thus include members who practice Falun Gong. The company aspires to create original performances that not only entertain, but also more deeply educate, enrich, and inspire. The company's rich repertory is drawn from the pages of history, universal themes, and the world around us. All choreography and music performed are original.
great show looking forward to next year. The show was fantastic
In spite of some repetition in the dancing, it was a beautiful afternoon of Chinese story-telling and history told through dance and music as well as amazing videos incorporated with the dancing. The costumes, scenery, and colors were fantastic. We were also very impressed with their message of Divinity, the divine nature of man, and the importance of freedom.
Great experience, convenient hassle free, parking good, drinks little expensive, love the to go cup
I’ve seen a couple of different Shen Yun performances and always enjoy it so much! They’re absolutely beautiful! We’re going to make it an annual tradition.
The dancing and acrobats in this show are outstanding, no question. However, what is in question is the organization behind this show. After going to the show, it made sense that all the promotions are always very short and focused on the art portion. However, there is a strong underlying belief system throughout, as well, which is never promoted. It gave a very odd and unsettling feeling to the whole experience. In looking into the organization behind the Shen Yun show, it doesn't seem quite as kind and compassionate as they claim. Educate yourself on what you're spending your money on before attending this show.
Good seats bright colors dancers never missed a beat
For years the prospect of witnessing a Shen Yun performance eluded my schedule. A crevice of opportunity presented itself at the William Saroyan Theatre in Fresno, CA. Imagination and expectations met beyond belief. From the orchestra’s warm-up to final note I was entranced. Choreography precision and dancer elegance phenomenal. Costumery and sets colorful, symmetrical, and spot-on. Narrators welcoming and entertaining. Attending again, bet on it.
I was curious what it was all about. I’m glad I went to see it but it’s lacking something. I was hoping for something more exciting but it was boring the whole time. I’ll give thumbs up for costuming. It’s visually colorful. And thumbs up to the gal that played the Chinese violin.
This is a wonderful show- a beautiful presentation with great talented dancers. , great sets, and wonderful music and colorful elegant costumes!
My favorite parts were the dancing with scarfs or vails or props the way they moved and formed designs, the dancing looks like they were walking on air. When they would jump into the screen and then come to life so cool! More acrobats. Don’t get me wrong I did enjoy the show, but when people asked me how was it I said “ it was good, I enjoyed it”, I want to be able to say, it was GREAT, WOW! You need to definitely see it.
I always seen this show advertised on TV every year when it would come through Indy. I was not sure if I would like it. I finally decided that this year I would take my parents to see it. It was ok, but not that great. I probably will not be going anymore in the future.
Awesome show! Loved the costumes, background and the stories
My seat was also terrible. A tall man sitting in front of me and 2 very obese women on my left side who came in late; went out at the break and stepped on my toes!
Overpriced, misrepresented tickets. Bad seats. Good Show.
my husband and I were in complete awe, and speechless. some dances brought us to tears. you have to see it to fully grasp and understand how amazing this show is
The show truly was breathtakingly stunning. Mesmerizing also because of the music, the dance, the professionalism and talent, of not only the performers, but the singers and the musicians as well..it was amazing! Such a shame that all of this heritage, tradition and beauty was robbed from the Chinese people after the takeover by Communism. I would definitely recommend this show to anyone!!!
I am so moved that a bucket list dream appeared in reality. Us three sisters were together to celebrate our mother as that day was her 89th birthday. She is with us and we honored her motherhood as we watched the most phenomenal dance story of FREEDOM. Yes, I am uplifted and forever changed. Thank you.
I’ve been fascinated with pre communist China, and I was pleased to see how artfully the show represented what life prior to communist rule. I can only imagine how much better the world would be if the communist regime would collapse and if even a portion of history could return. China would be a great place.
Hello, I like the performance but don't like the politics involved in the dance. Just for that reason alone I don't want to go there any more.
Exceptional show with amazing dancers, music and decors!
