Jamaican-American rapper and singer Shaggy exploded on the music scene in 2001 with the smash single "It Wasn't Me" off the multi-platinum selling album Hot Shot. The album also featured the single, "Angel," and helped launch Shaggy into international stardom where tickets for his live act were a hot draw, including memorable concerts with Natalie, Cyndi Lauper, Rupee and Fay-Ann Lyons. In addition to touring the world, Shaggy has also performed at several high-profile events, including the opening ceremony of the inaugural Champions League Twenty20 and the closing ceremony of the 2009 IPL tournament in South Africa. Following the release of a new album in 2013, it's expected that Shaggy will tour again with fellow musicians. Blessed with a unique, stylistic voice and featuring dancing and Jamaican influences in his act, Shaggy has sold hundreds of thousands of tickets. Shaggy collaborated with producing duo Sly and Robbie for the release of his latest album, "Out of Many, One Music." The album features several guest appearances, including Ne-Yo, Damian Marley, Beres Hammond, Konshens and Jimmy Cozier. "Out of Many, One Music" features the lead single, "Fight This Feeling," in addition to "Make Up" and "She Gives Me Love." Collectively, Shaggy has produced 12 studio albums over his 20-year career.
Shaggy was born in Kingston, Jamaica, and lived there until his family relocated to Brooklyn. He enlisted in the US Marines, but music was his true passion. While serving in the military, he gained inspiration for his first hit, "Boombastic." It wasn't until 2000, though, when Shaggy became an international sensation with the multi-platinum selling "Hot Shot." The singer/rapper has captivated audiences over a long and productive career and will continue to entertain select stages across the globe in 2014.
Shaggy was hands down an amazing in person experience!
He was ok i guess if your into that kinda music. I was basically just there to see TLC! And I thought they were amazing!!!
I did not enjoy watching or listening to Shaggy. Went to see TLC.
Wonderful performance by Shaggy. Very nice to see him in Springfied IL
I think it’s crazy how TLC came out first and Shaggy last. They have a million songs to preform. I feel it was quick and they were off the stage. And also why were the vip seats way in the back for $91 and General admission was $36 right in front of the stage. This show was a waste hopefully TLC has their down show and can actually preform a lot more songs. It was good to see them preform but it was to quick
TLC opened and they were unbelievably great! Shaggy is fabulously entertaining and it was great show!
I think Shaggy's getting old. They kept stopping in the middle of songs acting like they were playing around but I really think Shaggy just can't keep up with how fast paced some of his songs are. His part of the show was ok.
Good show, a little too cheeky for me. Too many covers, the music stopped too many times…for “funny” interludes. Let’s stick with the music and play more shaggy songs so we can hear that truly Iconic voice of his! He’s still got it.
Loved the music and Shaggy. There was plenty of room to shake, shake, shake.
Loved shaggy’s concert at the fair. Would definitely do it again. 😊
The concert seemed too short. It only lasted about an hour. Would’ve liked more.
Shaggy put on as great show! He is entertaining and interactive with the audience. I would definitely go to see him Asian in concert.
The ease of use to get in the fair, then later the Shaggy concert was excellent. It’s been a couple of years due to Covid but my wife and I loved the fair and concert with reserved seats. Shaggy was great. Everyone around us ( us included) was dancing. We had a blast!
Easy to get to, and great parking. Beautiful venue and loved how intimate the theatre was. Everyone was very helpful. Shaggys performance was outstanding and I loved the set list. Would definitely see him again, such good entertainment getting the crowd moving. Only downer was the Merchandise was CASH only so a lot of us couldn’t buy any and will have to order online.
Awesome show. One of the best reggae singers in the World.
It was cold inside way too damn cold. Some of the guests were dressed really nice and women with back out ohh and it was cold. I'm not anemic but damn that A.C. was making my nose drip. I couldn't even enjoy the show. Then they had a lil mishap with this female reggae artist and that was bad. More program coordination needed and an engaging host. Melissa Morgan was the highlight for me , she was superb.
First time at this venue, very impressed. Shaggy was excellent, we had a great time, hope he comes back soon!!!!
Too much like a glorified DJ. I just wanted to hear him sing. Good at involving the crowd. A bit disappointed.
I saw Shaggy last year at Six Flags & he was amazing!! He actually put on a show. At Mt Airy it was more like he was a hype man...........in reality his hype man & dj put on more of a show than he did!! Bits & pieces of a few songs for under 1 hour is not a concert. Is Shaggy selling out?!?!?!?!?!?
Ticket said he would be performing at 9 pm. Shaggy showed up at 12:48 am and did a 40 minute event, 4 songs. I will not go to another Shaggy event ever.
