About

Jamaican-American rapper and singer Shaggy exploded on the music scene in 2001 with the smash single "It Wasn't Me" off the multi-platinum selling album Hot Shot. The album also featured the single, "Angel," and helped launch Shaggy into international stardom where tickets for his live act were a hot draw, including memorable concerts with Natalie, Cyndi Lauper, Rupee and Fay-Ann Lyons. In addition to touring the world, Shaggy has also performed at several high-profile events, including the opening ceremony of the inaugural Champions League Twenty20 and the closing ceremony of the 2009 IPL tournament in South Africa. Following the release of a new album in 2013, it's expected that Shaggy will tour again with fellow musicians. Blessed with a unique, stylistic voice and featuring dancing and Jamaican influences in his act, Shaggy has sold hundreds of thousands of tickets. Shaggy collaborated with producing duo Sly and Robbie for the release of his latest album, "Out of Many, One Music." The album features several guest appearances, including Ne-Yo, Damian Marley, Beres Hammond, Konshens and Jimmy Cozier. "Out of Many, One Music" features the lead single, "Fight This Feeling," in addition to "Make Up" and "She Gives Me Love." Collectively, Shaggy has produced 12 studio albums over his 20-year career.

Shaggy was born in Kingston, Jamaica, and lived there until his family relocated to Brooklyn. He enlisted in the US Marines, but music was his true passion. While serving in the military, he gained inspiration for his first hit, "Boombastic." It wasn't until 2000, though, when Shaggy became an international sensation with the multi-platinum selling "Hot Shot." The singer/rapper has captivated audiences over a long and productive career and will continue to entertain select stages across the globe in 2014.

  • Steel Pulse was great

Shaggy was ok, but it was almost reversed, meaning it seemed like Shaggy should have opened for Steel Pulse as they were very good. Shaggy was ok.

The show was amazing! The weather was great, with a light rain made the show awesome! Both bands kept the crowd singing and dancing the whole time! I would definately come back to she a show here again!

  • Shaggy Great-event sucked

Steel Pulse and Shaggy were what you expect-professional-sounded good--what i didn't like were the people they allowed in and the fact it was held outdoor in hot temperatures-Some very rude low life people attended event-these losers show up late then bum rush the aisles and end up front row -while the people that showed up early to get seats get forced back-not right. Security needs to be improved-

What a pleasant surprise, the show was awesome, entertaining, non stop reggae jams, filled with good lyrics and delivered a wide variety. You even forget about the Arizona temperature for those few hours.

  • Extremely Disappointed

by Odi123 on 8/15/10The Pool at the Palms - Las VegasRating: 1 out of 5

We thought watching by the pool at the Palms would be great, but the performance was so bad we walked out after 30 painful minutes. He would sing a couple of words, then point the mic at the audience, and then tell the DJ to stop the music. He didn't make it through 1/4 of a single song, some of which weren't even his, for the entire time we were there. The boos started about 10 minutes in. Also, I don't understand why he started 30 minutes late when it was two guys with microphones and a DJ.

Way too short of a show. Seemed like it was about 50 minutes. The crowd was lacking in participation with singing . For the price of the tix I would think hard before seeing him again.

  • Worst Concert Ever!

by JacqMinx on 8/13/10The Pool at the Palms - Las VegasRating: 1 out of 5

I love Shaggy's music but we didn't hear ENOUGH of it. He sang for only ONE HOUR and 1/3 of that was songs from Bob Marley, Usher, Michael Jackson and others. He NEVER SANG ONE SHAGGY SONG FROM START TO FINISH. He would start a song then stop for the audience to sing the lyrics. This is fine for a couple of songs but every song was in this format and he NEVER sang a complete song himself. The beat was good and the dancing was good and the crowd was good, Shaggy just NEVER delivered HIS music the way he should. I was SHOCKED when it ended so early so he could sit in his little cabana and have groupies swarm him. This had the potential to be an AWESOME concert in a great venue, but Shaggy didn't sing enough. Bummer!

  • Shaggy mailed it in

Never sang a full song, he played a song and then would stop the song half way through. He played for less than an hour and the last ten minutes he danced to other peoples songs
