About

Jamaican-American rapper and singer Shaggy exploded on the music scene in 2001 with the smash single "It Wasn't Me" off the multi-platinum selling album Hot Shot. The album also featured the single, "Angel," and helped launch Shaggy into international stardom where tickets for his live act were a hot draw, including memorable concerts with Natalie, Cyndi Lauper, Rupee and Fay-Ann Lyons. In addition to touring the world, Shaggy has also performed at several high-profile events, including the opening ceremony of the inaugural Champions League Twenty20 and the closing ceremony of the 2009 IPL tournament in South Africa. Following the release of a new album in 2013, it's expected that Shaggy will tour again with fellow musicians. Blessed with a unique, stylistic voice and featuring dancing and Jamaican influences in his act, Shaggy has sold hundreds of thousands of tickets. Shaggy collaborated with producing duo Sly and Robbie for the release of his latest album, "Out of Many, One Music." The album features several guest appearances, including Ne-Yo, Damian Marley, Beres Hammond, Konshens and Jimmy Cozier. "Out of Many, One Music" features the lead single, "Fight This Feeling," in addition to "Make Up" and "She Gives Me Love." Collectively, Shaggy has produced 12 studio albums over his 20-year career.

Shaggy was born in Kingston, Jamaica, and lived there until his family relocated to Brooklyn. He enlisted in the US Marines, but music was his true passion. While serving in the military, he gained inspiration for his first hit, "Boombastic." It wasn't until 2000, though, when Shaggy became an international sensation with the multi-platinum selling "Hot Shot." The singer/rapper has captivated audiences over a long and productive career and will continue to entertain select stages across the globe in 2014.

  • Interesting

Shaggy wasn't bad. I really don't feel like he did any of his 'known' songs except two, maybe three of them. It was a lot of him walking around saying, "French Lick"and grabbing himself. The opening act was - well - I don't know how to describe it. Weird? Horrible? Made you want to leave and come back later when Shaggy was there? Not sure who Sophie Grey was and not sure how she's an opening act for him.

  • Great show.

Great show. Wish it would have been outside because it was a little warm. Performers were a little bit but the concert still ended on time. Drinks were decent priced. Nice having a balcony for the smokers. Would definitely return for another show.

Such a fun night! Opening act, Alex Duncan (never heard of him) was SO good! Second act, The Wailers, great songs and they were tight! And then Shagg - would a great performance! Best concert I've seen since the Stones 12 years ago.

Shaggy put on such an amazing show! This was my 2nd time seeing him and he did not disappoint! I love his vibe! It was cool to see the different age groups that all loved him and knew all his songs. It was well worth the long drive to see him! I wish he had meet and greet.. That's my bucket list! SHAGGY IS THE BOMB!!

  • Best concert!!!

    by Fiona86 on 7/5/25Rating: 5 out of 5

History -Toronto Concert Venue was hard to get to and only had standing general admission. Sophia Grey wasn’t great but Shaggy was AMAZING!! He is so interactive with the crowd, and making jokes. Worth being on my feet all night, I would definitely go see him again!!!

Website said shaggy was on at 8, but didn’t start till 9. Shaggy didn’t play long enough. No encore. Terrible trying to get out of rear parking lot. History should have traffic agents for exits.
