About

Jamaican-American rapper and singer Shaggy exploded on the music scene in 2001 with the smash single "It Wasn't Me" off the multi-platinum selling album Hot Shot. The album also featured the single, "Angel," and helped launch Shaggy into international stardom where tickets for his live act were a hot draw, including memorable concerts with Natalie, Cyndi Lauper, Rupee and Fay-Ann Lyons. In addition to touring the world, Shaggy has also performed at several high-profile events, including the opening ceremony of the inaugural Champions League Twenty20 and the closing ceremony of the 2009 IPL tournament in South Africa. Following the release of a new album in 2013, it's expected that Shaggy will tour again with fellow musicians. Blessed with a unique, stylistic voice and featuring dancing and Jamaican influences in his act, Shaggy has sold hundreds of thousands of tickets. Shaggy collaborated with producing duo Sly and Robbie for the release of his latest album, "Out of Many, One Music." The album features several guest appearances, including Ne-Yo, Damian Marley, Beres Hammond, Konshens and Jimmy Cozier. "Out of Many, One Music" features the lead single, "Fight This Feeling," in addition to "Make Up" and "She Gives Me Love." Collectively, Shaggy has produced 12 studio albums over his 20-year career.

Shaggy was born in Kingston, Jamaica, and lived there until his family relocated to Brooklyn. He enlisted in the US Marines, but music was his true passion. While serving in the military, he gained inspiration for his first hit, "Boombastic." It wasn't until 2000, though, when Shaggy became an international sensation with the multi-platinum selling "Hot Shot." The singer/rapper has captivated audiences over a long and productive career and will continue to entertain select stages across the globe in 2014.

  • Shaggy - not worth the 1 star

by Karux78 on 6/21/16Mount Airy Casino Resort - Mount PoconoRating: 1 out of 5

The event was scheduled for 9:00pm. Shaggy sauntered in at about 11:55pm and graced us with 4, possibly 5, lackluster renditions of his more popular songs plus 1 new song. The remainder of the 35-40 minutes he was on stage, he was trying to hype up the crowd and spinning someone else's tunes. He was, at best, an overpaid semi-celeb DJ.

Shaggy didn't show up until 11.......the show started at 9. Shaggy only performed for 1hour. It was hot in the venue......they could had fans to cool people off. They should have started on time......we would of had more time to see Shaggy. I drove over 2 hours to see him.

Absolutely horrible. Show was to begin at 9 PM and he didn't come on until after 12 AM... My friends and I didn't even wait for the show. Complete waste of money. We had no regrets leaving. If the ticket itself said a later start time it would have been a different story.

The best part of the show was seeing Shaggy Perform. He took me back to when I was a teen and first fell in love with his sexy charm with "Mr. Bumbastic". And I had a good view...he still looks fine.

Love the show well put together. My wife and I had a great time we just wish mavado was on stage longer. His act seemed rushed.

The concert was amazing. ..one performer want that great in stage performance but seeing and hearing Sanchez made my night! At first I didn't like the fact that my seat tickets turned into standing but I was even closer to the stage and I was able to fame the night away with my guy! !!!

  • Reggae Riddims live is worth the buck !

by Coconut54 on 4/14/15The Grand Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino - MashantucketRating: 5 out of 5

Amazing show, it was my first reggae concert and i enjoyed it, the performers delivered with high energy throughout the show most notably Shaggy, Maxi Priest and Capleton. Mavado was a bit disappointing- i was looking forward to his performance which seemed rushed. All in all it was a great show, i would do it all over again.

  • 5 hours, No Shaggy

by Anonymous on 11/17/14Alrosa Villa - ColumbusRating: 1 out of 5

Ticket time was 8:00 pm. We got there about 10 minutes after 8 to get good spot for Shaggy. He still had not come on at 12:45 am when we finally had to leave. Huge disappointment!! I talked about this concert all week! It got me through my last shift at work just looking forward to seeing Shaggy live. We have 4 kids we had to be up with the next day and we live about an hour away so we just couldn't wait any longer. I've never been to a concert where the headliner waited so long to perform. Besides the huge let down, we basically wasted the money spent on buying these tickets. Unprofessional behavior from Shaggy and Alrosa!!
