What IS a 'holiday' without them? LOVE these guys!

by Twinklebutt on 12/6/10Everett Civic Auditorium - Everett

While wonderously visited by raucous angels blowing their trumpets of gleeful irreverence, we were escorted in fine fashion down Holiday Lane, lovingly wrapped in warm blankets of world harmony, unity & peace. And what joyous evening would not be complete but for the 'peace de resistance', the entire ensemble SIGNING their heart-wrenching rendition of 'Silent Night'. Also, as a sidenote, I am not hearing impaired, but service a community who is - I find the amazing talents of the Choir's Interpreter to be like no other. He is truly a blessing! I strongly believe in the messages this organization promotes and will gladly (yet meagerly) continue to ''sing their praises"! Seattle Men's Chorus has and always will be such a blessing, in this community and to all who are able to attend (or purchase their CD's - I bought ten this weekend, yipppeeeee)!!! May God continue to bless them and their families.

This was by far the best Holdiay show ever!!! I will make this an annual tradition, and will also see other shows during the year.

    Wonderful Concert

    by Karen1093 on 11/29/10Benaroya Hall - S. Mark Taper Auditorium - Seattle

This concert was amazing! The musical selections were very diverse mixing holiday traditions from all cultures. Some were solemn and traditional while others were lively and fun. The singing was spot on and everyone—the large chorus, small groups and soloists—sounded wonderful. We enjoyed the evening very much and look forward to attending another event soon!

    Ole,Ole,Ole es Fantastico!

by Floricita on 4/12/10McCaw Hall - Seattle

The show was amazing! My husband performed with the Bailadores de Bronce group and the combination of the Chorus and all the dancers was Fantastico! I highly recommend this show to everyone. I had a hard time sitting still in my seat. I wanted to get up and dance. Great show!

    Lacked polish this time

    by Tassie47 on 4/12/10McCaw Hall - Seattle

I walked out after one hour. The sound of the choir was fine and the soloists very very good. Why weren't there more of these bright spots. It was the dancers and little acts out front, plus the speeches and such that were very nearly painful to watch and sit through. With Latin music, the dancing has to be RIGHT on beat and quick and special. If there are more than one dancer on stage, one expects them to be more closely coordinated. With the dancing and little "actrs" less than sterling, it took away from the sound of the choir. Now, I don't know what to expect in the future from these concerts (which I had enjoyed before). The level of performance was on par with maybe a small, poorly-practiced community theater. Maybe that's what others expect when they attend these things. I know, now, I'll probably not go to another Seattle Men's Choir performance.

    Entertaining

by Ayak on 12/21/09Benaroya Hall - S. Mark Taper Auditorium - Seattle

Santa Baby offered an enjoyable evening of entertainment. The performance was polished without being pomp, fresh with visuals to engage the audience and just the right amount of comic relief in the mix. Benaroya Hall is a wonderful venue, not a bad seat in the house. The pipe organ is amazing, although, at times was a bit overpowering.

    Laughed my bells off!

by Redbreast on 12/15/09Benaroya Hall - S. Mark Taper Auditorium - Seattle

Best Christmas show I've ever seen. I took my mom for a night out, and we SO enjoyed ourselves. The audience was clearly energized with the spirit of the season during and after this show. Every member of this ensemble is so clearly talented and passionate about their gift to us, the audience.

    Seattle Men's Choir, Fabulous!

    by Katrina10 on 12/15/09Benaroya Hall - S. Mark Taper Auditorium - Seattle

I am a first timer to one of their concerts. I loved the musicality, the choreography, the creativity. I come from a 30 yr. technical theater background, and have seen so much and yet, I was thoroughly entertained from beginning to end. I was as impressed with the chorus's ASL skills as I was the official interpreter's. They were beautiful to watch. The lighting was terriffic, the only weakness, was the sound in the 3rd tier of Benaroya. So many of the tunes had original lyrics, and so much could not be understood. Levels could have been boosted to help, although, audio issues are rarely so easily solved. If I had time I would have gone a second night. The show was just that good.

This was my first time to go to the Seatte Men's Chorus Christmas special. It was so good that my family and I are going to make it an annual event. The music was fabulous, the singing outstanding and the comedy hilarious! I would definitely reccomend this to everyone I know!

Seattle Men's Chorus Santa Baby 2009 was great!

    by RJ67 on 12/14/09Benaroya Hall - S. Mark Taper Auditorium - Seattle

My Dad took me on our annual holiday outing and it was so much fun. The music was great and I liked the mix of songs and voices. Benaroya Hall is cool too, we were sitting in a founders box so we could really see everything. I really enjoyed Silent Night and how it ends with them signing in ASL.

    Santa Baby

    by eye2view on 12/14/09Benaroya Hall - S. Mark Taper Auditorium - Seattle

As always, the singing was spectacular; 200 sychronized voices making the most of their skills. The re-writing of the familiar was campy and fun, also. One of the most amazing things was the ASL interpreter's performance; visually beautiful and stirring.

Santa Baby was AWESOME as usual!!!

by Shaneva on 12/9/09Everett Civic Auditorium - Everett

For the past 10 years my partner and I have enjoyed the Seattle Men's Chorus Holiday perfomances! Every year seems to get better and better! In addition to the wonderful singing and skits, we LOVE watching ASL Interpreter, Kevin Gallagher!!! In fact, this year we invited my cousin and her wife from Portland, OR to join us. My cousin has been deaf since birth and I knew she would find the whole show entertaining. When it came to the part where the entire chorus signs "Silent Night" my cousin and I were overwhelmed with emotion. What an amazing performance!!!!! She has never seen anything like that before!!! To be deaf in a hearing world can be challenging, but for just a few magical moments, she felt so loved and honored! We are going to make this an annual event for the 4 of us!!! THANK YOU SEATTLE MEN'S CHORUS!

    As always unforgettable!

by MarshaH on 12/7/09Benaroya Hall - S. Mark Taper Auditorium - Seattle

I don't know how Dennis Coleman can make 200 men send like one voice but he most certainly does. The lyrics alone would make you giggle but add the choreography and you might just leave with a sore tummy from all the hysteria. The sign language is poetry and dance - amazing. The Men's Chorus never fails to entertain in a most delightful way. Bring your sense of humor and your holiday spirit and enjoy!

    Something for everyone

by Miggien on 12/6/09Everett Civic Auditorium - Everett

Wonderful concert. An eclectic selection of numbers - there was something for everyone. Among the memorable performances was Silent Night; unbelievably beautiful. Throughout the evening I found myself paying close attention to the man who performed the numbers in sign language. His movements were fluid, artistic and breathtaking. A very memorable evening.

    Wonderful

by Wsugirlie on 12/6/09Everett Civic Auditorium - Everett

As always, you can count on an amazing show and it delivered. The voices were wonderful and the comedy parts were entertaining. But I have to say that my favorite thing each year is watching Kevin Gallagher!!! I don't know sign language, but he expressses the songs so beautifully. Thank you for the show you perform and for coming to Everett for a show.
