Saved by the 90s on Tour

There's nothing quite like getting into a room with a bunch of your friends to belt out hits you know inside out. Enter Saved by the 90s, a party-starting rock and pop cover band that focuses on the decade when grunge, teen-pop and alternative rock dominated. The high-energy troupe sport colorful outfits and perform faithful renditions of jams from Third Eye Blind, Foo Fighters, Sum 41 and blink-182, among others — and, thanks to a rotating cast of female vocalists, smashes from No Doubt, Garbage and Spice Girls are also in play.

In previous years, while going by the name Bayside Tigers — the moniker references the sports teams at fictional Bayside High of '90s TV show Saved by the Bell — the band performed all over the country, including at multiple House of Blues locations. Today, calling themselves Saved by the 90s, the group continues to maintain a healthy touring schedule. Plus, you never know who might show up at a gig. In the past, rappers Coolio and Naughty by Nature, Sugar Ray frontman Mark McGrath and the late Cranberries singer Dolores O'Riordan have all sat in with the band.

Saved by the 90s in Concert

Saved by the 90s was started in the late '00s by a trio of friends: guitarist/singer Danny Finerman, bassist/vocalist Alex Rossiter and drummer/singer Nat Esten. The latter two were classmates at Berklee College of Music and had started noticing as they gigged around that their audience especially dug '90s covers by acts such as Green Day and Foo Fighters. Finerman had also sensed that the decade's music was due for a resurgence, and so the concept of Saved by the 90s was born.

The group started playing out in New York City, first as a live-band karaoke project and then just a straightforward cover band. Sold-out club shows followed, as did a nationwide expansion; today, there are multiple Saved by the 90s bands performing throughout the country, all with extensive, 100+ song repertoires. Notable members include vocalist Emily Afton, who has been on Broadway and in touring theater productions.

I see this band every time they come to the HOB in Orlando, I love singing and dancing to all of the songs from the 90s! They really know how to get the crowd on their feet and engaged in the show! My friends and I make it a girls night and we never miss Saved by the 90s! Keep up the great work guys, you rock!

  • Saved by 90s show at HoB San Diego

by Kickin out the Jams on 8/16/22House of Blues San Diego - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

These guys were great and had the crowd rocking all night. I had never seen them before, and frankly, wasn't expecting a high energy show. But that's how it turned out. Great song selection, excellent vocalists and musicians. Wish they would return soon.

  • Walk down memory lane

by Karaoke Queen on 4/18/22House of Blues Orlando - OrlandoRating: 4 out of 5

Had a blast. Songs we're great. Male leads we're strong vocally. Really disappointed with female vocal, she didn't quite represent the original songs as well as I hoped for. Karaoke level at best. Would see them again.

  • AMAZING

by Angelique on 4/18/22House of Blues Orlando - OrlandoRating: 5 out of 5

I think the concert was GREAT. The only downside of House of Blues is the drinks are super expensive! Other than that, the concert itself was so fun! Everyone was singing along, participating, and the performers were GREAT. I would definitely pay to see them again 😊

  • Cancelled 3 days before with no explanation

Canceled the Charlottesville show 3 days before, got not notification or message, still not sure what happened. Would appreciate at least a "hey sorry this is what happened"

  • Very fun time

by Mark D on 3/24/22House of Blues Cleveland - ClevelandRating: 4 out of 5

I went to see this band with friends to celebrate my birthday. I am in my mid forties, so the 90s were my heyday for music. This band provided a very fun evening. They did not always provide the most clear, crisp sound, and occasionally, the vocals seemed faint. But, they played a wide range of music, from grunge to hip hop, and their music provided my friends and I plenty of songs to sing along with all night. The night got better as it went along, as we had a few more drinks, the show ended up being a big party and everyone in attendance seemed to be having a very fun time. So much better to see live music instead of listening to music from a deejay!

  • Incredible

by Chris on 3/10/20Revolution Live - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

Just an amazing show as always. Over 2 hours of 90s hits wonderfully performed with the crowd hanging on every word. Will certainly be back!

by Bayside Tigers Biggest Fan on 1/30/20Rating: 5 out of 5

Best cover band I’ve ever seen- and I’m an avid cover band spectator! So much energy, amazing performances, great voices, theatrics, everything is just flawless. Not your typical cover band, that’s for sure!

  • Has potential

by Tia on 1/13/20House of Blues Cleveland presented by Cricket Wireless - ClevelandRating: 3 out of 5

Great first half. Intermission way too long. Way too long. What was everyone doing? Second act was not great at first so I left

  • Loved the show!

by Chuckie C on 1/6/20Ace of Spades - SacramentoRating: 5 out of 5

They rocked it. The lead female and male singer gave performances nearly identical to the originals. Giving the audience the feeling of nostalgia we came to find. The show we saw was two hours of non-stop music, one of the best shows I've seen a while.

  • It was awesome

    by R. on 1/3/20Saint Andrews Hall - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

If you love the nineties and music of the 90s and don't mind spending a little money on alcohol usually about $7 a piece it is awesome best time I've ever had on New Year's Eve

  • 90s Saved Me

by FlyerGirl on 9/3/19Bogart's presented by Cricket Wireless - CincinnatiRating: 5 out of 5

This was a great 90s cover band! They played great songs, and I love the idea of allowing the audience to pick the second half of the shows songs. It would be like a new experience every time! I would definitely go again the next time they are in town.
