Sarah Jarosz not only is a gifted song writer and singer, but she has an impressive command of the acoustic guitar. Her band is phenomenal, and all seem to be having a great time! Don't miss her if you have the chance!

We love Sarah Jarosz and find the State to be a great venue, but…someone has to reign in the sound engineer. Sarah’s latest album’s higher energy tunes call for a bit more volume, but the drummer’s bass drum was drilling through my head because it was so loud. Sure, I’m an “oldster” but I hear from those around me that I play things too loudly, yet this was a bit much.

Could be the beat performance I have ever seen! So tight! Such talent

She is incredibly talented and has an incredible voice. This show was louder and more choreographed than in the past. I hope she wanted this. It seemed more like someone told her to put on a show with loud music, strobe lights, and guitar solos. Her talent was not the main attraction at this show, unfortunately.

I have just recently connected with Sarah Jarosz through Spotify. What I listened to lead me to get tix for her Portland show at the State Theater. Her vocal performance and lyrics were wonderful. What I did not realize is that she is an extremely talented musician. She blew me away. And the rest of her band was extremely talented too. Totally worth the short nights sleep I got after the show (4 hours) because the concert was during the work week. I will see her again when she comes to back to Portland!

On the heels of releasing an excellent album earlier this year, Sarah’s set in Portland was a tour de force. Her writing and performing has matured and her band was superb. Everything sounded great; a five-star show (and thanks to the State Theater for removing the noisy hand dryers!)

Sarah Jarosz is a magnificent performer and triple threat. She can write beautifully. She sings powerfully when she needs to and as soft as an angel to lure you in to the imagery her songs evoke. She can play many instruments well and her mandolin like a virtuoso.

Band was tight, exceptional talent on display from all. They were superbly atune to each other and the lead guitarist, epic. Sarah gave all in her 2 hour plus show! We absolutely recommend seeing the show. I'm a HUGE classic rock guy and love many genres of music, from country to classical. Sarah is an absolute delight from writing, to musical and instrumrntal talent. She is poised to go far!

The State Theatre is a wonderful theater and the pizza was some of the best! Sarah and her band were absolutely incredible and played some of my favorite songs. I brought along my daughter and her partner, both 30, and they had a blast. Le Ren was an amazing opener! Such a great night and such a professional sound from the band- you HAVE to see her live!

I’m a huge Sarah Jarosz fan . I’ll always enjoy seeing her play; such a talented young artist! Having said that, I’d like to offer a suggestion For the VIP experience. The experience was fine, but we would have preferred to know exactly how it was going to play out- the waiting time to get in was a little long but not bad. Enjoyed the up close visit with Sarah, and then we were told to go back out of the theater and come back in an hour and 15 minutes. We came back and took advantage of early admission (645 pm) and waited another hour and 15 minutes for the opening act. The opening act was great ; the staff at the venue were very friendly and helpful. I’d like to thank them-I give them 5 stars. The venue seating is a little confusing which may have been our fault, but more ushers could help that. And with all that sitting, our seats reminded us than the venue could use a bit of a refresh! New seats would go a long way toward improving the guest experience-the seats are pretty worn. Both La Ren and Sarah were wonderful-Sarah and the band played a good long set. 5 stars for the musicians, 4 stars for the venue.
