REO Speedwagon are one of the definitive American arena rock bands to emerge in the ’70s, selling over 40 million records worldwide across 16 studio albums. Formed in 1967, the band’s 1978 album You Can Tune a Piano, but You Can't Tuna Fish launched a streak of nine consecutive albums earning an RIAA Platinum certification or higher, but REO reached truly rarified air with their Diamond-certified 1980 album, Hi Infidelity, which spent 15 weeks atop the Billboard 200. Hi Infidelity hosted the band’s first Hot 100 No. 1 single "Keep On Loving You" as well as its Top 5 follow-up "Take It On the Run," and the band would top the chart again with “Can't Fight This Feeling” from 1984’s Wheels Are Turnin’. REO Speedwagon have remained a touring force, organizing several co-headlining treks with genre heavyweights Styx, Chicago and Def Leppard. In 2022 alone, the REO and Styx joint tour earned $25 million. As of 2024, REO Speedwagon is made up of lead vocalist Kevin Cronin and bandmates Bruce Hall, Dave Amato, Bryan Hitt, Derek Hilland, and Matt Bissonette.

REO Speedwagon was very good, brought back lots of memories but I have to say Styx was amazing and was the best band of the night.
REO was just OK. STYX rocks!! This is the 3rd time I have seen them in recent years and they are good as ever, if not better..
These guys gave it all they had, and they still have a lot. Glad I went. Great venue.
It is not summer until I have attended a concert at "Pine Knob". This one was perfect!! We sat on the lawn and it was packed. People everywhere having a good time enjoying the weather and the music. 38 Special was awesome. Styx was awesome!! They jammed and sang and played and talked to the audience. It was great. Reo Speedwagon was not. They perhaps should hang it up. Lousy singing. Timing was off. The aggravating part of it was they wasted too much time between songs. There was a stretch where they did not play or say anything for a long time. We were wondering what they were up to. The last song where Styx joined them is when they played like they should. It is good to see the age range of atttendees at classic rock concerts. Good times - good music!
Headline was suposed to be styx. Did not perform long enough.
My wife and I are huge fans of all three bands. It was a no-brainer that we wanted to attend this concert, when we heard that they were all playing together. The weather was great and all three bands rocked the night away. It was neat when some of the members from Styx and 38 Special came out at the end to jam with the guys from REO. One awesome show...keep up the good work DTE.
I grew up listening to these bands. After 30 years, they still looked and sounded great. I love coming to concerts at "the old pine knob". We come up at least 2 or 3 times a summer from Toledo, Ohio. It is east to get to, and we have never had any problems. Parking is always easy to find, the staff is always friendly and helpful, and the bands are always awesome. Keep doing what you're doing and you will have many return visits from me and my friends.
Styx was awesome. The new keyboard player was very animated and entertaining throughout. The rest of the band sounded just as good as always. They preformed so well the people sitting around us were discussing that REO would not be able to compare. Then REO came out and really kicked some ass. We went as Styx fans and left as fans of both.
I purchaed the tickets for .38 Special, REO Speedwagon and Styx for my Wife's parents for their anniversary present. They said it was the best time they had in 25 years. They grew up listening to their music and said that I could not have picked a better gift.
We were very suprised and very excited that 38 Special was there, it was not mentioned and was really cool we had another excellent band to perform along with Styxx and REO Speedwagen. It was an awsome concert. And to top it all off, Styxx and REO performed together at the end. What a GREAT concert!!! It's wonderful to remenous the good times and have the bands come back together and create the great memories in the 70' and 80's for their fans.
Seeing all three bands was great - other than the fact the mike went out during REO's set the night was fantastic. None of them have missed a beat - Kevin Cronin just gets better with age.
One of the best concerts I have seen in a long time.
Wow, the concert rocked! I felt like a teenager again...riding in my white chevette with mall hair, listening to REO on my new cassette player, and rockin out like a crazed groupie! Yep, those were the good old days. ~Danyel~
This concert was by far the best Ive seen this year, they had the old guys like me rockin, and even the younger crowd were dancing everywhere.I have to say its been one of the highlights of my summer
All three bands sounded great! They really demonstrated how experience and talent can compensate for any amount of youthful energy they may have lost from "back in the day". The music was quality and the vocals still hold up. It was like listening to my records...uh..I mean, CD's...er, uh....iPod recordings. Worth every penny!
REO Speedwagon was really good, but I liked Styx better just because of their performance =)
Awesome concert as always! The best sing-along in town!
It was a wonderful evening. The reason my son and I went was because my husband loved thier music and he passed away 4 months ago and the concert made us feel close to him.,
I wasn't born yet when these rock groups first hit the scene, but I became a fan by listening to my parents records, cassette tapes and CD's. Despite having new members, all three bands sounded just like the used to and put on a great show. I highly recommend it to any fan of classic rock.
Last night's show at DTE was awesome. To hear three great bands in one night, to hear the crowd truly appreciate and rock to our favorites created a memorable night. The band's interaction with the crowd, the way they showed their appreciation of their fans too was the way it should be. Bringing all three bands on stage at the end to Don't Stop Rocking was the ultimate. Detroit is gonna "Keep on Lovin' REO..."!
