    Who cares about the movie?

by GirlandBoy on 10/7/09Curran Theatre - San Francisco

I couldn't get beyond ten minutes of the movie, but the live performance was wonderful. The music, which was also live, was a bit too loud and sometimes took over the voices of the singers. The performers could have been more clear as far as the mics go, but it was still great! *got my side seats swapped for center seats, but didn't catch the first half of what the ticket guy was explaining as to why there was a switcheroo; don't care, thaaaaaaanks! P.S. I really didn't like Roger Davis' (character) nasally voice, but Mimi made up for it.

    Amazing Performance. A Must See

by Anonymous on 10/7/09Curran Theatre - San Francisco

I have been a fan of Rent ever since my girlfirend introduced it to me back in 2006 and we saw the theatrical version.I have always wanted to see the live performance and it was awsome. There was never a dull moment within the musical. My attention was held throught the performance. A must see.

    "The Broadway Tour" indeed!

by RayQ on 10/7/09Curran Theatre - San Francisco

So nice to see so many "Rent" veterans rocking this show out again. Since this landmark musical is now closed on Broadway, this is a great opportunity to see what earned this show so many awards (Tony Award, Pultizer Prize, etc.). Being a touring company, however, means that the theater was not built for this show, so there are obstructed views on all sides and it would be best to see this one as close to center as possible. On opening night, there were also some missed sound effects at the start ("The phone!" was shouted after no ringing sound was heard) and odd feedback problems with some of the cast members' microphones (especially "Tom Collins"). But by the time Act 2 kicked off with the now-seminal "Seasons of Love," all of that seemed to have been worked out. I've seen "Rent" performed maybe a dozen times in three different cities, and this one was still as good as ever.

    Opening night was amazing!

by ObsessedSF on 10/7/09Curran Theatre - San Francisco

Usually the cast members are nervous, the sound engineers are still figuring things out, the set transitions are screwy... but not this show. It was absolutely amazing and everything went off without a hitch. I still have the Seasons song stuck in my head.

Pascal and Rapp have still got it!

by JRENTFan on 10/7/09Curran Theatre - San Francisco

RENT has got to be my favorite play ever and it was a magical evening to be able to see Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal on stage. Each song hit me with a wave of emotion and I couldn't help but spill over with tears during, "Will I Lose My Dignity" and "I'll Cover You (reprise)" The only problem I have is that the cast no longer is in the Lobby collecting Money for AIDS awareness. I'm worried that some of the message has been lost over the years.

RENT CREATES A NIGHT TO REMEMBER ALWAYS

by Joani123 on 10/7/09Curran Theatre - San Francisco

ANTHONY RAPP AND ADAM PASCAL HELPED AN AMAZING CAST CAPTIVATE THE AUDIENCE AND BRING THEM INTO THE WORLD OF RENT. I LAUGHED, I CRIED, I SANG ALONG, AND I DON'T REGRET COMING ON A WEEKNIGHT WITH WORK THE NEXT MORNING, EVEN THE SLIGHTEST BIT, IN FACT I WOULD DO IT AGAIN TOMORROW IF I COULD. IT TRULY WAS A NIGHT TO REMEMBER ALWAYS.
