About

Talk about magic!

British comedy actors Daniel Clarkson and Jefferson Turner have distilled all 4,200 pages of J. K. Rowling's seven Harry Potter novels into one brilliantly hilarious 70-minute show. Potted Potter: The Unauthorized Harry Experience is a lovably loopy two-person performance in which a Potter know-it-all teams up with a rebellious Harry newbie to create a show about -- you guessed it -- Harry Potter.

Clarkson and Turner conceived the show in 2005 as a five-minute sidewalk synopsis to amuse customers queued up for Rowling's sixth Harry novel. They expanded it to an hour the following year and opened at Edinburgh's Zoo Southside. European tours ensued, and in 2012 Potted Potter was nominated for two Olivier Awards, the highest honor in British theater. The show made its off-Broadway debut the same year and has since toured all over the United States and the world. After opening in 2018, the family-friendly Las Vegas production won Best of Last Vegas Awards for Best New Production and Best Value Show.

One actor channels a bookish Harry in Potted Potter while another plays every other character -- including Ron and Hermione, Draco Malfoy, Snape, the Weasleys, Sirius Black, Mad-Eye Moody, Dumbledore and, of course, He Who Must Not Be Named -- with wild abandon. Loads of wigs and other goofy props are employed in a nonstop laugh fest that also features a fire-breathing dragon, countless costume changes, brilliant songs, a plethora of props and even a Quidditch match encouraging audience participation (but no brooms, alas).

Accessible to Potter freaks and newbies alike, Potted Potter blends slapstick in the Laurel & Hardy vaudeville tradition with the wildly witty dialogue associated with Monty Python's Flying Circus. "Potting" is a British term for "the art of summarizing something into a digestible form," and, like all the best parodies, Clarkson and Turner's Harry experience is both splendid spoof and heartfelt homage.

These guys were fantastic! The show was high energy, fun, hilarious, and kept the attention of everyone there. All the adults with us talked about our cheeks being sore from smiling for so long. The three 16 year old girls with us loved it. You don't even have to love Harry Potter to enjoy this show. If you are interested in going, don't hesitate. Get your tickets!

Great show, lots of energy and the 2 guys were really funny. A knowledge of the Harry Potter books is important otherwise it could get confusing for you. Needs to be a little longer.

I’ve never read any Harry Potter books nor watched the movies, but I thoroughly enjoyed the show. The actors kept the audience involved and entertained.

  • Can’t believe this is show in Las Vegas.

by Ryan on 7/5/24Imagine Showroom at Horseshoe Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 1 out of 5

We left after 10 minutes. This was by far the worst show we have ever been to in Las Vegas. I would leave zero stars if I could. Save your money and go to something else.

  • Highly recommended

by Zane on 7/4/24Imagine Showroom at Horseshoe Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

This show was so funny! I was laughing the whole time, as we’re both my sons! My youngest wasn’t even very familiar with specific events in Harry Potter, never having read the books or seen the movies, and he still thought it was hilarious. Recommended for young and old! Enjoyment for the whole family!!

Come prepared for the unexpected. A raucous show sure to leave you in stitches. 7 books in 70 minutes. Not possible, you say. Well, this show brings it. A wicked, playful take on Harry Potter. You will want to see it again to catch the things you missed. Absolutely hilarious!! A must see.

  • Not what I thought

by Vegas traveler on 6/22/24Imagine Showroom at Horseshoe Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 1 out of 5

While I give props to the 2 gentleman doing this show, I did not enjoy it and wanted to leave after 5 minutes. It seemed more like improv comedy. I would not see this again.

  • All right 👍

by JR on 6/22/24Imagine Showroom at Horseshoe Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 4 out of 5

It was at times hard to understand the words and also the connection to the books. I didn't read the books, but saw all the movies.

  • Very very funny

by Anna on 6/21/24Imagine Showroom at Horseshoe Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

A 70 minute show covering all Harry Potter books. The two actors were so funny with perfect comedy timing. We laughed from start to finish - the best bit for us was the Watership Down reference which didn’t translate well in the USA but made it even funnier for us from the UK. This is the best show I’ve seen in a while.

  • Fantastic! Any Potter Fan will Love this Show!

by Cole on 6/18/24Imagine Showroom at Horseshoe Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Intertwining comedy, story-telling, singing, dancing, and audience participation. Highlighting all 7 Harry Potter books in this thoroughly enjoyable show. Adults and children will love it!

  • Hilarious in intimate setting

by Tia on 6/7/24Imagine Showroom at Horseshoe Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Absolutely hilarious little show! In stitches the whole time. Even my husband who has never seen even one second of anything Harry Potter related, laughed the whole time! Only thing I'd say is that the seating chart is deceiving. VERY small theater, which is fine, but means there are NO bad seats!

  • A laugh riot!

by Gracie on 5/31/24Imagine Showroom at Horseshoe Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

This is a must see show! My group bought tickets on a whim after seeing some ads, and it was our favorite show of the entire trip! The actors put on a hilarious performance, and they had great crowd interaction. We laughed nonstop! The bartender also serves up an alcoholic butterbeer that was perfectly balanced and not too sweet! Absolutely recommend this show to any Harry Potter fan!

  • Funny stick comedy

by Shirley on 5/31/24Imagine Showroom at Horseshoe Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 4 out of 5

It was a little silly but cute as they went through the parodies of the seven Potter books. Very low key and family friendly.

  • Great show, annoying seating

by SJ on 5/12/24Imagine Showroom at Horseshoe Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 3 out of 5

Quidditch! What a wonderfully energetic and engaging performance! The only frustrating part was that we arrived extra early to get good seats in the central seating section. Yet a row of 7 seats were blocked from us sitting because a “group of 6” was coining. So I was really annoyed that myself and many others weren’t allowed to sit at the front of the “central” section because 7 seats were saved for 6 people that didn’t show up until RIGHT at the start of the show.

  • Funny 70 minutes

by Frankenserj on 4/29/24Imagine Showroom at Horseshoe Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

We scored a coupon code which saved us 50% and we were grateful for. Ticket prices I feel were a little high for the venue. But it was 70 minutes of laughs and good times with friends and family. If you are a Harry Potter fan and want a comical take on all 7 books definitely check it out.

  • Terrible

by Aman on 4/25/24Imagine Showroom at Horseshoe Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 1 out of 5

This was terrible, not funny at all and just 2 British guys with barely a set. I've seen better shows for fraction of the price

  • Great family fun!

by Sarah on 4/12/24Imagine Showroom at Horseshoe Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

I (38) went with my mother and my 8yo daughter. We all had an amazing time and our cheeks hurt from laughing and smiling so much. It was delightfully silly, and we are so happy we chose this show to see on our trip!

  • Very entertaining

Nick and James were hilarious. We loved the spontaneity. A fun show for lovers of Harry Potter.
