    Platanos & Collard Greens

by FirstTime3 on 5/11/10French Institute/Florence Gould Hall - New York

Come out to see this play it has been running for 7 years!!! Let's keep it going for 7 more! This play had an excellent cast, and was very educational, funny and had a serious story line to keep the audience engaged.

One of the best plays I've ever seen!!!

by PB05 on 5/10/10French Institute/Florence Gould Hall - New York

Platanos and Collard Greens was very educational and hilarious. I can't believe it's been out for 7 years. This play is better than Broadway plays that I've seen. It needs way more recognition than it gets. If I had more than 2 thumbs, I'd give it 4 thumbs up! Absolutely enjoyable - went with my Grandmother and Aunt for Mother's Day! I even got a chance to meet some of the cast members outside after the show - what a wonderful group of young minorities! Go out and support this diamond in the rough!

Platanos & Collard Greens was Superb!!

by yourpreciousjewel on 3/29/10French Institute/Florence Gould Hall - New York

I've been wanting to see this play for years, and thankful it was still playing. My mother's side of the family is Black. My father's side is Black & Puerto Rican. This play pointed out stereotypes that both nationalities have (light-skinned vs dark-skinned; good hair vs bad hair). Awesome script!! So relative to today's society!! Will go see again with other family members. Also, will recommend to schools...great History lesson

This my second time seeing the play. The first time I saw the play (about 7 yrs ago) I was not impressed b/c of profanity and poor language. I guess I had to grow!!! It explains the racial tenion between cultures as well as others... Actors truly makes the audience feel about the changing events. Keep an open mind....

    Play was overrated

by unimpressedviewer on 3/29/10French Institute/Florence Gould Hall - New York

I had heard good things about this play and decided to go see it. I was very disappointed. The script was weak and repetitious. The characters were one dimensional. It did have a few funny lines, but that is not worth a $50 ticket.
