    Platanos was all that!

Great show! Especially for those you've embraced the hip-hop culture.

    Expected more

    by Kaykay306 on 2/20/12Gershwin theater - Manhattan

The overall content and meaning of the play was very good but I expected more. It was very low budget and I could hardly hear what they were saying it was more like a school play than an off broadway play

Great potential but lost in the sound

by alegnaa on 9/28/10Palace Theatre Albany - Albany

I could tell the content of they play was great but at the sound was horrific. I was at the Palace Theatre in Albany New York. The actors did not have individual microphones so you could barely hear them. If we laughed, then we missed the next three lines. It really took a lot of concentration and effort on our part.

    A play rich with laughter

by Eboni910 on 9/26/10Palace Theatre Albany - Albany

The play was a worthwhile evening of laughter and intertwining of Latin and African-American history. The only negative was that the sound was not loud enough and thus some great moments were lost.

Good show but some content can be missed by people that are in an older age group and may not understand the different terms and musical highlights used in the production

    Platanos & Collard Greens

by DimplesDiva007 on 6/1/10French Institute/Florence Gould Hall - New York

I treated my boyfriend for his birthday, and also my mother, because she was in town and we always attend various on & off broadway plays. My boyfriend mentioned that the play reminded him of the high school plays & that was a great comparison. It was a very entertaining play, but I did think it was going to be different in terms of content and format. My boyfriend and I want to see the play with a group of friends. What I also liked, in reference to the production company, is that they have a student program where young kids could win a chance to be cast in the play. There were two kids, 7th and 8th graders, who won & performed during the show we attended. The kids were very good, very comfortable & funny & realistic in their roles. That was one of the best parts of the production...I'm always for empowering the kids!! I do recommend it, because it was well cast, entertaining and educational for pre-teens and adults. Enjoy!!

    A great play

by Kingsmen2010 on 5/31/10French Institute/Florence Gould Hall - New York

My wife and I have a great time. We enjoyed the play and talked about how well the play was written. We also talked about the charaters. The play was excellent.

Plantanos and Collard Greens was disappointing

by Wcvnyfan on 5/13/10French Institute/Florence Gould Hall - New York

Don't get me wrong the play was cute. But it was more like a high school play or college play. For the money I paid I was looking to get more than just that. Better to have gone Broadway to get monies worth!!
