About

PJ Morton is a soul singer, songwriter, performer and producer based in New Orleans. He is a 5x GRAMMY-winner and 20x GRAMMY nominee who has earned numerous nominations for BET, Soul Train and NAACP Image Awards, in addition to selling out countless shows at historic venues like the Apollo Theater, Kennedy Center and others around the world. On top of running his own record label (Morton Records) and serving as Maroon 5's full-time keyboardist for the past 12+ years, he has collaborated with Stevie Wonder, Erykah Badu, Jon Batiste, Nas, Lil Wayne, JoJo, Yebba, Jill Scott and many others.

In 2024, PJ Morton will become the first Black composer to ever write an original song for a Disney attraction - Tiana's Bayou Adventure, coming soon to Disneyland and Disney World. He will also release an album entirely written, recorded and produced during a 30-day trip across Africa, and publish a new book titled Saturday Night, Sunday Morning. Arriving November 12th via Worthy Publishing, an imprint of Hachette Book Group, the memoir sees him recounting and reflecting upon a trailblazing path that continues to defy expectations and straddle the tensions of music and faith, race and culture, expression and identity.

  • Great show!

by KJ95 on 7/23/22Cannon Center for the Performing Arts - MemphisRating: 5 out of 5

Great experience from start to finish! PJ really knows how to put on a show! I loved the band, the backup vocalist, and the DJ, Arie Spins, were all great! I cannot wait for PJ to come back to Memphis!

  • A-1, FULL BOWL OF GUMBO EXPERIENCE

by Christion on 7/23/22Cannon Center for the Performing Arts - MemphisRating: 5 out of 5

When you arrive, be prepared to eat. PJ will deliver. He has this innate ability of making his studio recorded tracks obsolete; when compared to his live renditions. I am a fan of his artistry. It’s a full-body experience that any true lover of GOOD MUSIC must experience.

  • GREAT EVENING

by Big C Memphis on 7/23/22Cannon Center for the Performing Arts - MemphisRating: 5 out of 5

Absolutely stunning performance, from the DJ that kept us going and moving. Words can’t say enough about the quality of his band and background singers. They way he got the crowd involved was fabulous. Everything was great, we had a lovely evening listening to great music and being a part of great energy. One of the best shows I’ve seen in a while. We will most definitely follow PJ. This was a must see performance.

by Audrey C. on 7/23/22Cannon Center for the Performing Arts - MemphisRating: 5 out of 5

I’ve never been to a concert before and this was perfect for my first time. If he performed every week, I would go!! The best first self date ever!!

  • The Best Experience

by Reese on 7/18/22Delmar Hall - Saint LouisRating: 5 out of 5

I've seen PJ Morton a few times in concert. He always puts on an amazing show. You must go see him live!! Shout out to his opener DJ Arie Spins! She helped set the tone for the night.

  • The venue needs more and better seating

by Cush Crew on 7/18/22Delmar Hall - Saint LouisRating: 5 out of 5

It was a very nice concert from the standpoint of the entertainer. He gave a wonderful performance, including the encore performance. My only issue is with the limited amount of seating and the fact that they were bar stools. My wife was very uncomfortable sitting in them for the entire concert.

  • Amazing

by Mel on 7/18/22Delmar Hall - Saint LouisRating: 5 out of 5

PJ!!!!!! I’ve always been a fan but this was my first concert. When I tell you it was a vibe and he gave his all and him and his band was locked in. I can’t wait for the next concert💯

  • Overjoyed

by Virginia on 7/18/22Delmar Hall - Saint LouisRating: 5 out of 5

I absolutely loved this show. His opening act DJAries really got the crowd pumping and she never stopped smiling! But having experienced PJ Morton finally was a dream come true. I can’t wait for him to come again… but at a bigger venue! Delmar hall is great for shows but i felt horrible for the folks who had to stand because of over crowding. He needs a venue where old heads and young heads can sit and enjoy the show too. Being on your feet all day at work, then coming to a show to stand would have been too much. Other than that I’m excited that he hopes to visit our city again as well.

  • Love the artist but hated the venue

by Jj on 7/18/22Delmar Hall - Saint LouisRating: 2 out of 5

I hated the venue. We got vip tickets and no seats were available when we go there??? What was the point of paying extra for the ticket when I could have just paid for the cheaper ticket instead? I love PJ but I was turned off but the venue selected. If you paid for VIP you definitely got robbed

  • Simply Amazing!

by Margie on 7/18/22Delmar Hall - Saint LouisRating: 5 out of 5

I didn't believe it was possible for PJ Morton to sound better than his recordings but that's exactly what we got at Delmar Hall. The concert was held in a smaller venue and the energy was on 100! The sold out Morton over delivered, singing all of the favorites and some news songs from his new album "Watch the Sun"

  • Venue

by Vee on 7/18/22Delmar Hall - Saint LouisRating: 5 out of 5

PJ Morton was absolutely Phenomenal.. but the venue (Delmar Hall) was way too small there were more people then seats. Very crowded and uncomfortable!

Listen here, this was my first PJ Morton concert and first time listening to his music. Let me tell you he cleaned house! This was an AMAZING concert wow! Oh and that DJ Aries is nothen to play with either she came in and wrecked up before PJ got on! Well worth it! I became a fan that night!

  • Awesome

by Bradlinda on 7/18/22Delmar Hall - Saint LouisRating: 5 out of 5

This man was simply amazing. Saint Louis needs to bring him back to a larger venue. The crowd was hyped and we could have stayed for another two hours.

  • Everything!

by Kim on 7/18/22Delmar Hall - Saint LouisRating: 5 out of 5

That concert was EVERYTHING i didnt even know I needed! From beginning to end excellent show! Only thing is, his fan base is getting bigger, may want to consider a larger venue next time.

  • AWESOME!!!

by Autumn Sun on 7/18/22Delmar Hall - Saint LouisRating: 5 out of 5

This is my 2nd time attending a PJ Morton concert and he DID NOT disappoint!! There were a few sound issues (i.e. couldn't hear the background vocals if they took lead). PJ's energy was EVERYTHING!! EVERY TIME he comes to the StL, I'm there!

I just learned of P.J. Morton's music a few months ago and had been listening on YouTube. This concert was very good and energetic. I would definitely go again!
